Can someone tell me how Warmaster is different than Warhammer?

I know that it's WH on a larger scale, but that's abou it... Are there any major rules differences?

I've never played it but I assume the rules would be quite different.

Units numbering in the 100's would require a hell of a lot of dice if played like fantasy. I'm not sure though.

On average, each base only has 3 attacks, for elves you can have swordmasters and Pheonix guard (and white lions if they had white lion models) as core units as they count as spearmen. Heros HAVE to be in a unit and can only be killed if that unit flees and is run over, Units required a certain number of bases (usally 3) but several units can join together to form a Brigade, in which they act like one big unit.

Warmaster sort of freaks me out, that has to be insane to paint for one thing, and the games must take while if it is anything like regular warhammer!

I avoid to continue reading as i don't find someone enough sick to begin playing with me. But for what i have see ( and yes, i have a dwarf army of warmaster. And yes, i am painting it. And you don't imagine how NICE does the slayers of 10 mms look ), the game is quite faster and more strategical than warhammer. The terrain matters a lot more, since for example cavalry and chariots can't come into towns. The shoot and magic isn't so destructive as in fantasy, so you need to go BtB if you want to do something. The movement is the main. You need to give orders with a character to make the units move, and if you fail an order this character can't give any more in the turn: so you must think your orders quite carefully. Not enough with this, you can give several orders to the same unit, with a penalization. So if you are lucky other risky enough, you can make one unit run really a lot !
And yeah, there are quite a lot of dices into any combat. If any base has 3-4 attacks and you put over... four bases, you roll a lot of. But them it comes the revenge for your rival. Combats in warmaster are quite destructive.

I need people from Cádiz to play with me ! Aaarrggg ! I want it !

I was once asked if I could change my name to either Romana or Fred for brevity.
I chose Fred, but now I'm Romana. Just goes to show how bureacracy works.

The man was as tall as a six foot two inch tree.

The plane skimmed along the water exactly like a bowling ball wouldn't.

The plan was simple, much like my brother in law Phil. However, unlike Phil, the plan had a chance of working.

Yeah, i am back with it. I bought a Chaos army ( and that means my third warmaster army without even play a game. I am insane ) and began reading in Brumbaer site a few battle reports. Hell, it really rocks ! There is a lot of risky in movement. The combat is a mix of 40k and fantasy... units have " support ", but the main of the combat is decided by dices. There is a " withdrawn point ", calculated by the number of units you have. When you lost units enough you lost the game. I want to plaaayy !
