I understand what you are saying Whirlwind, an interesting idea. Where did you read this concept? Or is it your thoughts?

Strong devotion (such as to a 'god') could indeed push mortals to much greater lengths, but how does that explain the winds of chaos, daemons from the warp, the greater daemons being spawned as avaters of the gods and other such 'miracles'?

I think i understand you whirlwind, your stating that mankind's imagination has manifested these 'Gods'. But surely daemons and Chaos itself have been around a long time before mankind, (im still talking about warhammer fantasy) such as the massive battle between the Chaos gods and the Old Ones at the near - beginning of time. I recall that the first daemon prince was in fact a human, and this happened some time very early in warhammer history.

Even as I'm typing this, I still don't have clue what I'm saying, but are you saying that Chaos itself would cease to exist, if only the ( small-minded) humans didnt believe in it?

About the Khaine, Khorne thing; yeah i totally understand that but I don't agree with you, about Slaanesh being a 'subtler' aspect of Khorne. I think all the main gods of chaos are the four key essences of Chaos. Not something as basic as mere 'killing' as you said about Slaanesh and Khorne, but just the fact that Khorne has his brutal - destructivenes, Slaanesh has its seductiveness and forbidden pleasures, Tzeentch with the tainted witchcraft, and Nurgle with its pestilence and spreading of decay.

The inflictions I just mentioned are not just part of the Warhammer world, they exist in all humans, as everyone of us is flawed in some.

*takes deep breath* What I'm trying to say is that I don't think Chaos is capable of warping and changing the humans Fantasy, I just think that it has the power to bring out our weaknesses and flaws to fore.

I don't know if this related to the origional question at all, but hey, I'm not gonna delete all this now.

A lot of what I am saying is loosely quoted from my 5 chaos army books. I have 3 full army books spanning 3 editions and 2 supplements which complimented these books.
I am not saying that Slannesh is Khaine, I am saying that the lesser gods are merely elements/parts of the greater gods.
It is elven nature to focus on any one task or aspect of any given thing. The High Elves worship a large group of gods and each one serves a direct purpose such as aiding the growth of crops, assisting the mindset to do battle, providing a base to make wise choices etc etc.
A chaos god is nowhere near as specialised as the elven gods. Chaos gods represent a total all consuming package and chaos undivided is even more intense.
What I am saying is relevent to fantasy and not 40k at all, to avoid any confusion.
For the record: The race of men have been around since before the fall of the gates, the Old Ones however had not finished with them.
This is why the race of men fall the easiest to the temptations of chaos, they were not prepared biologically or spiritually.
Also their close proximity to the chaos gates sure didn't help the matter.
Thanks,

Whirlwind is totally and absolutely right, but it is another fantasy fluff aspect and it will take a lot of time to discuss. But what about the topic question? There are speculations based on different present information from the coming End Times: Archaon book, that Elven gods are part of Chaos Ones, and according to the new Wood Elves book there was the War in Heavens in FB and yes, you can easily predict the results. So people can speculate again)
