Yep I understood that point and just nudged it a little out that if we put too much realism then it goes way beyond the line of fun. Thats why everything should stay as they should. I say with more ranks spears do a lot of work, they are spearmen and I can hardly think they can destroy heavy armed professional knights. All armies have spearmen as levy or core defender of choice, as we said they are stronger to light cavalry, well they are and there's no need for buffers, 10-15 attacks on light cavalry is like death itself. Lets remember that in Medieval days the horsemen were the power, no men on foot could defeat their charge at all.. So its quite realistic in the end.... Except the bow:P

Ulthuan shall never fall! For we are the Asur and for long as there is light then we will shine...

Cant really see the point of changing rules for spears, in early history mounted men had problems charging spears but in later yaers the horses where made bigger eg: the shire and were trained to charge headlong into what ever the knight wanted them to, they even went as far as restricting the horses vishion so they had to trust where the rider was heading them.
As said above that pikes where better than spears against cavalry but pike fromations were not as flexable as spears it took a long time to form up a phalanx of pikes and once broken near impossable to refrom affectively.
A spear was a cheap affective weapon, i think the rules are good enough as they arefor spears and pikes, if they should change rules because something had been under powered it should be the long bow but thats off topic.
