Hi there! This isn't news about Heroes as whole, but it is nifty news about one of us who works on it. And, yes, I'm having trouble keeping my mouth shut about it.
In addition to writing 1/4 of "Heroes" and other fan fiction, I also write Sci-Fi/Fantasy-related reviews, essays, and articles, primarily at DarkWorlds.com. By a glorious stroke of luck, a publisher came across my rambles and asked me to contribute to a book of essays about Angel. The book is entitled Five Seasons of Angel, and I wrote my essay about Wesley Wyndam-Pryce. This is my first published work, and I'm incredibly excited about it. It's sort of like a Cinderella story for me, getting published out of nowhere and all, so it's with words instead of a coach made out of a pumpkin. Five Seasons of Angel is available now from BenBella Books, and you can find it on the publisher's site, Amazon.com, or wherever you prefer to buy your books. It's an anthology, similar to last year's Seven Seasons of Buffy (which I highly recommend). It contains 23 essays by authors such as Peter S. Beagle, Nancy Holder, Don DeBrandt, and a whole lot of other people that you've actually heard of. There are essays about Angel, Angelus, Spike, Cordelia, Lorne, Lindsey, Jasmine, Wolfram & Hart, and, as mentioned, Wesley, not to mention all of the non-character-specific essays about the show. It really is a great read. "Angel by the Numbers" by Angel gaffer Dan Kerns is worth the purchase price all by itself. Anyway, check it out, and I hope that you all enjoy it. Congratulations!!! If something that I'd written had made it into a book, I never be able to keep my mouth shut about it either!
