HELP is licensed to administer the ITP (paper & pencil) TOEFL® by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The ITP TOEFL is offered primarily to assist institutions in placing students in English courses at the appropriate level of difficulty or to determine whether additional work in English is necessary before an individual can undertake studies at an institution where English is the medium of instruction. The Undergraduate Admissions Office and the Graduate Admissions Office at UH Manoa, as well as several community colleges in the UH system, will accept these scores. Please contact those offices directly for additional information.

The time required for administration is approximately two hours for the ITP. Examinees' answer sheets are scored by ETS in Princeton, NJ. Score results can be expected approximately three weeks after receipt of the answer sheets by ETS. The fee for non-HELP students is $30. Students must register for the test in-person at HELP’s Main Office beginning on the Monday of the week that it will be administered. Administration is always on Saturday mornings.
