With the new one arriving soon, I thought it would be fun to have a little poll and see which was generally liked more. I did this because I am very very bored right now, and have nothing but Metal Gear on the brain.

EDIT!!!!

Metal Gear 4 is supposed to be Portable Ops... my brain went into auto-pilot

I've actually never played one for more than a few minutes. Isn't that shameful?

No, they aren't for everybody. Heck, I am surprised they are as popular as they are.

Yeah... I pretty much suck at the series. I'll choose the first MGS, as it's the only one that didn't give me too much trouble.

I'm not voting since I haven't played 3 or PO yet, but I think Twin Snakes is the best out of the first three (granted, I never actually plyaed the original). Better graphics than the original, and the story is better than MG2 (Snake > Raiden).

Also, why no Metal Gear Acid?

I was sticking with the main storyline, and avoiding the side quests. I love the Acid games myself, but I don't know how many people have really gotten into them. If I added them, I would have to add the Gameboy one as well, along with the originals on the MSX.

Have we ever been logged onto a board at the same time? Because I'm starting to wonder if we're in the same body and not aware of the other personality. But you live in the Midwest, right? Guess that can't be the case...

First one. Twin Snakes' revamped gameplay made it way too easy and the redone cutscenes just blow.

The second one. Aside from Charles Barkley: SUAJG, I've never laughed harder while playing a game. Comedy is best when it's played dead straight. And I liked Raiden and Dead Cell, while Naked Snake and the Cobra Unit mostly annoyed the hell out of me.

MGS1 was too preachy and overly sentimental at times for its own good. Never could stand Meryl either. Hate, hate, HATE her. Still, it's a close second.

Twin Snakes is ass.

No idea about MGS4, but I severely doubt it would change my mind.
