Title: Some questions about Elphie's EC dress !

I'll soon start sewing Elphaba's Emerald City dress, but before i have to get answered some questions about it:
1) is it 2 pieces ?? I mean top and skirt, or are they sewn together ?
2)Does anyone have a photo of the back ?
3) Does anyone have a close photo of the fabric ?
4) Is the top closed with a zipper or hook and eye or whatever ?
5) is it closed in the front or from behind ?
6) so if it's closed from behind, the buttons in the front are only sewn on as decoration, aren't they ?
hehe I know, that are lots of questions, but you would really help me by answering,, or just trying !! ;- )

Well, the dress is more commonly referred to as the Defying Gravity dress - tho as you first see it in "One Short Day", the Emerald City is accurate!
It's sewn into one piece- she has what, 15 seconds to change into it? There's one great big zipper right up the back - one time I saw the show and the zipper got stuck, she started the scene singing offstage, then came on with the dress unzipped. I was right at the top, and could see her back clearly. Halfway through she got it pinned up, then at the end of One Short Day she popped into the wings for a second and someone sorted it.
The front buttons are all decorative. I think there may be a hook and eye at the top of the zip to make sure it doesn't fall down.

I bought the fabric today... (but that doesn't mean that I'm going to start right now *g*)
what do you think about it ?? is it okay ?? I know that the fabric isn't perfect, so please be ingenuous (and learned a new word again :lol: )

i really like the fabric!!! it's a one piece but has that line that makes it look like bodice and skirt, there's a zippers all the way down the back, and a hook and eye at the collar like Belle said, she has 18 seconds to change from Shiz Dress and White Jacket to this dress, Witch hat, and Grimmerie bag, and be back on stage. i would do a centered zipper in the back.
