Are you concerned that Ofcom will deregulate our hobby or not?
If you don't know what deregulation is then please check out my web site, RSGB's web site and Ofcoms web site for further information. |

As a new amateur operator i seem to be entering the hobby at a time of great change, some changes have enabled me to take my M3 and hopefully steadily progress through to the advanced level, i expect to have to work for these licenses with my commitment and effort, not given a free license with little if no regulation and operate on bands that are full of ex CBers with little or no understanding.
chaos will rule. Today i have phoned and asked for the "Consultation on a Proposal to Reform Amateur Radio paper, i intend to have my voice, all be it a small one. "NO to DEREGULATION" |

I am extremly concerned that this great hobby will get deregulation.
If it ever happens, for example, will non deregulated Countries be allowed to answer our CQ'S without breaching their License terms. There are many many reasons not to deregulate, and no valid ones I can think of to deregulate. I too have entered the hobby during changes, will our voice count that much?, since (to be honest) we had a fairly easy way in in the first place. Is giving us a simpler way in just a way of getting deregulation passed easier? perhaps they are hoping that all the M3's wont argue against it so much. |
