I had a friend who bought a TS-940 for use on CB bands, yes I know its wrong, but he got his just deserts.
He kept complaining about bad headaches, none of his CB friends clicked with a solution. One day I went round for a coffee and chat, and he told me about these headaches. We went out to his shack so he could show me the TS-940. I was suprised to see no CB antennas though. I asked what he was using for an antenna, and he said a wire loop around his shack wall. Well it didn't take long to figure out where the headaches where coming from...... 100 watts into a big coil of wire, with the operator sat in the middle..... Perhaps now he will stick to his 4 watts and use the correct equipment, as he has sold the TS-940 and bought a Midland CB & vertical antenna. I don't hink he will be becoming an Amateur somehow. As I said...He got his just deserts. |
