About a month ago a friend found what I believe are Red-eared Slider eggs that a landscaper had partially dug up. Though I would've preferred he re-bury them, he brought them to me because I have hatched and successfully raised box turtles. I am willing to get the hatchlings going and I want them to be healthy and have every chance for survival.. but there are 25...that's right- twenty-five of them. They should hatch soon and I would love some advice on the best way to care for them temporarily until i can release them. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, Amy!

Since you've raised box turtles, you know the basics. The babies can live off of their yolk for a few weeks but I would start feeding them in a few days. Put them in something like a large plastic storage tub with just enough water to get them wet to start. Even an inch is plenty. Give them some natural or artificial lighting. I suggest trying to find live blackworms at an aquarium store to feed them. They have always worked for the babies that I've had. Plus, they're aquatic worms which means they don't just rot there in the water if uneaten. Change the water every few days. As the turtles get bigger, you can make the water deeper and add in other foods like commercial baby Reptomin, canned small shrimp for turtles, live mealworms (or any small insect or worm from earthworms to earwigs to small crickets), kale, cut up grapes, and so on. Of course, by the time they're really eating, you should have found a nice new home for them!
See http://www.fishpondinfo.com/turtles/babycare.htm for more information (details on feeding, housing, lighting, and so on).

Good luck!
