Lobelia has flowers that are closer together on the spikes. I don't think it's that. Although I may be totally wrong. sad.gif

Does this plant have square stems? If it does that'll verify my guess of Scarlet Sage, Salvia coccinea.

And the answer is (and I'm not making this up): Hot Lips and it of the salvia (sage) species. smile.gif

It's a salvia that I found at my local grocery store of all places! I liked the little flowers but never knew how much fun I would get from watching the hummers go after it. That was a nice big suprise.

Yes LB the stems are square-ish so your answer was pretty darn close. Good job!

Sadie there is a ton of different ones as I found out when I did a search. I just got lucky with mine as far as the name goes. Yeah, you would remember Hot Lips. laugh.gif
