Has anyone got an outdoor fish tank? I saw one on the TV the other day. It was on one of the house and lifestyle shows and looked fabulous set into a decked terrace.

When I had a look on the web though. The outdoor tanks I could find all seemed a bit lame. Glass boxes covered in concrete and looking like something out of the Flintstones. I wondered if anyone had a nice one...

I've never had one but I saw an antique one at a garden. It was empty but here it is. It looks like it held candles (nice if you get wax in the tank). It also looks like there was a fountain. Since it's from before electricity, I'm not sure how it was powered.

Hi Bessiebean

We moved from our tank a year ago and last year was the coldest winter on record if you buy an outdoor tank you would have to shut it down and take it indoors for the winter.
A pond would be your best bet

Hi Besiebean
At long last I've found what you have been looking for in an outdoor tank, check out this link on the Practical FishKeepers website I think you'll agree that the Blagdon half moon Affinity tank is probably just the one that you are looking for at £432.99 pence its a big investment but the hours of pleasure this tank will bring you when it's mature out weighs the cost

Let us know what you think on this
