Can anyone tell me how to repair a leaky pond liner? I believe the liner is heavy gague pond liner material that is suppose to be leak proof. The liner is about 3 years old.

Welcome to the forum! Sorry about your liner. Are you sure that you have a hole in the liner? Did you see it?
See my section on leaks at http://www.fishpondinfo.com/pcare.htm#leak If you indeed have a hole in the liner, you have to first figure out where it is. If left alone, the water level should drop to the location of the hole. Assuming that it's not on the bottom, the animals can stay in the pond. They sell patches for holes in liners. You have to dry and clean both surfaces and then the patch goes on like a sticker. Here are some sample liner patches: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod...cfm?pcatid=5330 http://www.thatpetplace.com/pond-liner-patch Good luck! -------------------- Robyn, Former Analytical Chemist, Zone 6/7, Maryland

Hi Mudman Welcome to the forum from the UK. Dont know if your from the US or UK but there is a product called gold available from online that is well worth buying as it can set underwater and thats the important bit. Here's the link :- http://www.huttonaquaticproducts.co.uk/goldlabelsealer.html If the liner is three years old you may just have a problem with tree roots as they will seek out water even in a pond so check around the punctured area for roots Keep us all posted as to how you get on rgrds broxandval -------------------- Weve been Keeping Koi now for 26 year's we have 20 Koi, 1 orfe , 6 newts, a rescue female cat aged 4 called Suki (four white socks white running from chin to chest, white streak down belly the, body being black, have a russian blue type cat with while leg markings white chin etc and the cutest young boy cat, Jet black in colour (who has two tails)

I got patches at Home Depot and patched them last year. Seems to be holding okay so far. It was in the pond section. I've been wanting to try that "Flex Steel" stuff (as seen on TV)but not sure of the toxicity of the stuff, but could try it with a patch on the inside and the spray on the outside. Saw it at wal=mart and walgreens.
Good luck on locating the tear. Hopefully it is near the top. |

Sandy, is that the stuff they show that was sprayed on a screen door then put on a boats floor? If that is than I wouldn't waste my money because I saw a review on it & they said it was junk.
