Title: Frogs Disappeared

Hi guys, just wondering if any of you had this experience. I just redid my pond, including taking out my old liner and putting in a new one, potting my plants, planting some new plants around the pond, and laying down some new mulch. My previous pond was pretty shallow and this new one has a max depth of 18 inches. Since I divided my water lily there is now much more open space in the pond. I had placed the current residents at the time (2 very large female green frogs) back in the pond during the day, but when I checked back this morning I see no sign of them. I wonder if they jumped ship overnight (it didn't rain but it was warm and humid)? I did this for them for Pete's sake and now I don't have any frogs.

Frogs are good at hiding. They have the added bonus that they can hide on land or in water. They may have left. They may come back. They may never have left. Hopefully, they weren't eaten by a red-tailed hawk like one of mine today!

They will be back, they were probably just scared with the movement of everything, give them a couple of days of quietness near the pond & I'm sure they will show up. :) Mine do it all the time

Yeah, I am hopeful they'll return. The pond just seems so empty now. I guess it could have been worse.. they weren't eaten by a red tailed hawk... that I know of! I'll keep my eye out for them. It's not supposed to rain for quite some time and it's getting pretty hot out here so maybe they'll get homesick.

This morning found a new frog at the pond. Just what appears to be a small green frog. Yea! :D Still no sign of the previous residents. If they do come back think this guy will leave since he's small enough for the others to eat him :( Thanks for the advice yesterday. Patience has never been one of my strengths!
