Title: Repotting Plants
Description: Too early to start?

ddm - March 20, 2010 02:31 AM (GMT)
Is it too early to repot my water lilies and marginals? I live in zone 6a, and we're having very warm weather right now. Most of the plants have started to show new growth. If it gets colder again and the plants have been repotted will that be a problem?
I had to remove most of the plants when my liner was floating (most of the water under the pond has drained away, thank goodness) and it seems kind of silly to go to the trouble of putting them back, just to take them out again.

Thanks for any feedback.

I think you can go ahead and repot them. As long as you can tell where the live parts of the plant are, it should be fine. If they're growing, then that should be easy. It's been warm this week here too. If I had time, I could repot my pond plants, and I don't think they'd be harm doing it early. I'm going to try to do the lotus tomorrow. I'm not even sure if it's alive.

I repotted my lotus and did a lot of other chores in great weather, and I survived! My scar doesn't bother me even though it's still dripping tiny amounts. Don't worry about me; I feel good!
