Title: May Not Be Able To Get On Tomorrow
Description: Storm coming

It looks like we might get hit with some strong winds (they say 50 mph) tomorrow from Tropical Storm Hanna. The power might go out. If it does, I will not be able to get in to the forum until power comes back, or I go to work. Just letting you know. Saturday, I do 15 hours straight of work that all requires electricity. Tomorrow, I will just have to go through the chores and hope the power stays on. The worst case would be it going out while I was in the middle of cleaning a particular fish tank, leaving the fish not only without filtration but also with the tank half full. I sent out my pond newsletter tonight instead of tomorrow and rechecked my e-mail one last time just in case. With so many animals dependent on electricity here, it's a big ordeal when power is lost. I now have saltwater tanks to worry about too which are much more precarious. Wish my animals good luck!

Good luck Robyn and Animals! :D
Oh, I might get hit by Ike which looks pretty bad! Hopefully we won't lose power and my fishies suffer! Now, to read your newsletter. (I'm bored with no work!)

Take care Robyn and "batten down the hatches". You might skip those outdoor chores this Saturday, 50 MPH sounds pretty rough. We had a storm last night that I slept through that picked up my big table umbrella and dumped it in one of my ponds ten feet away without touching the flowers in between. Guess I didn't have it secured correctly and was relieved it didn't puncture the epdm liner.

We got really strong winds here in Texas but no rain which we desperatly need. :( Good luck to everyone.

Yay! I made it through the day of chores with power. The power flickered while I was cleaning the turtle tank and went off for about 4 seconds when I was cleaning the basement rabbit cage. I'm not sure how much rain we got. My rain gauge only holds 2 inches and was overflowing. I'm guessing 3 inches. It was pouring for about 10 hours. Luckily, the wind wasn't too bad with a few gusts coming through that bent the tall trees somewhat horizontal in the crowns, probably 30 mph. Most of the time the winds were under 20 mph I think. It was dark most of the day. But, I got my work done!
