Ah, yes. We all love rules, don't we? Well, have no fear. These rules are simple, easy, and to the point. Before we get into them, I'd like to mention that banning & suspension is a case-to-case sort of thing, and will be left to the staff to decide what punishment the broken rule merits. This is so that we can be as fair as possible about things. Now, let's begin. 01. Behavior and conduct. This board's rating is between PG and PG13. Because that can be a little unclear, I'll explain. InvisionFree's terms of service states that explicit content is not allowed. So it's not allowed on here. I understand that some characters are going to have potty mouths. But it's just as easy to say "he cursed under his breath" as it is to actually type the curse word. This pretty much applies to everything. Please use descretion and thought when posting.
This also means being polite. I know, every board has the whole "RESPECT US" thing going on. Well, yeah. Respect is important. Just remember, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Flaming is not allowed. At all. There is a correct way to express your views. Flaming is not it.
It has come to our attention that there are several characters who are a little... less than proper. This is fine; even Jane Austen had those kinds of characters in her books. However, we would ask that when posting threads with PG-13 content (even 'fade to black' type stuff), please post a [PG-13] somewhere in the thread title or topic description. We have members who would rather not read that kind of stuff, and this way, they can know to avoid those threads.
02. When joining. When you join, please join with your character's full name, properly capitalized (see memberlist). Next, you'll post your character application. The whole process is easy. The reason we have them at all is so the other players know what your character is like and how they'd work with theirs. Anyway, I know it's a pain, but we'd like you to have a human face claim (preferably a celebrity, not a myspace or stock face). If you can't come up with something, contact the staff. We're willing to help and negotiate.
You're allowed to have five characters. This is so that nobody gets loaded down with posts or anything. That kind of takes away from having fun. If you think you can hand more and would like to, contact one of the admins and if we think you've done well keeping your other characters active, we'll work something out. :]
03. Posting. We don't have a word minimum. But we do ask that you try to write enough so that your post is not difficult to reply to. Everyone has off days, we understand that, so we're not going to be insane about it, but please, just try. And, when you're posting, keep in mind that rule number one applies. Of course, your character is allowed to bash another character. If this happens, don't take offense. It's part of the game!
04. Advertising. There is a forum for it. Please keep it there. We have a special forum for member links. You don't need to post the link in the cbox or in your signature. It just distracts from the IC feel of the game.
05. Staff. The staff are members too. We're human. We'll make mistakes. But we will try our hardest to keep this site fun for everyone. And while we recognize that we are just members with the duty of taking care of stuff, we have final say. We're willing to negotiate, but we have to do what we think is best for the site. So please, if you think we're unfair, let us know (in a mature way), but keep that in mind. =) |
