Over the time period that Final Haven Weyr was established six more dragons appeared through the new Siren Queen. With the large number of eggs both a Siren and Gold could lay it did not take long after establishing relationships with other Holds though establishing their own regular stream of visitors and new arrivals began was more difficult due to their location and the harsh environment around them. Due to this harsh environment both the new colors and old colors changed over time, becoming longer and leaner, faster and stronger...bigger, the average size of dragons increased between ten to fifteen feet in length.



QUEENS



Siren

Sirens are the largest dragons to ever grace the face of Pern and also the rarest. Displaying colors between the deepest eggplant to a pale lavender these dragons are indeed purple though constantly have a halo-like glow about their bodies. Sirens are very unusual dragons for they Impress due to both the correct mind of the individual as well as through song. While a Siren is still within the Egg they touch the minds of every individual within the Hatching Sands, coaxing them to sing for them, only an individual with the correct mind to hear her and a voice to that pleases her will they Impress, much like the first Sirenrider Gorfintin did. Stand-Impression are not uncommon with this dragon, which is why Harpers are favored. Sirens are gentle, sweet, even-tempered dragons who dislike confrontation, however, they are venomously protective of Theirs and will NEVER tolerate theirs being attacked or insulted in anyway, shape, or form. Only a Siren can mother another Siren and when a Siren Egg is lain, which always look the same, at least one Gold will also be lain, on very rare occasions twin Golds may be Clutched at the same time. If there is a present Siren Senior AND Siren Junior Queen the Siren Senior Queen will Rise but only once every two turns while the Junior Queen will continue to Rise once every turn. When a new Siren is Clutched the Siren Senior Queen will step down as Senior, allowing the Junior to become promoted to Senior and the new Siren Queen will then become Junior Queen. Like Golds a Siren will never chew firestone, their riders using flamethrowers within the Siren Wing.

Rising - 1 time a turn, will only Choose their mate after first Flight BUT can be Caught by another if too tired to fend them off.

Gold

Once the largest dragon on Pern and once the Queen of the Weyr Golds are still considered dragon mothers, though with the addition of Sirens, Gold twins have become a common, though still rare, occurance. Still the same molten gold to any tone of this unique color as they were in the beginning these dragons are still a sight to behold in person or Flight. The Ranking in place for the Queens has changed only slightly, Golds may still become Senior or Junior Queen at the same time as Sirens but are always labelled as a Senior Gold Queen or Junior Gold Queen though in authority they will never outrank a Siren if one is present to lead. Viciously protective and proud these dragons can either become your best friend or your worst enemy, though can be the gentlest kittens on the planet if their personality deems it so. Gold do not have the ability to Clutch Sirens though Sirens may Clutch Golds, though it is rare, it is more often then a Siren being Clutched. Golds are commanded by no other dragon except a Siren, a Junior Siren Queen has the mental ability and rank to command a Senior Gold, just as a Senior Siren does.

KINGS



Silver

The largest male dragon on Pern these dragons though larger than Golds do not meet a Siren’s size. The first King these dragons have the same uniform molten silver tone and like the Siren these males have an ever present halo-like glow about their bodies. Not unlike Sirens Silver enjoy song, but do not solely Impress due to the voice of their Bonded, but it doesn’t hurt to have a nice voice. Silvers are laid back and calm creatures focusing more on their Queen and Theirs then anything else, sure they may be leaders of the Weyr but what is important is their Queens, mainly the Sirens, though they enjoy Golds as well. Silvers look for an individual with a large heart, one who does not think of themself and will do whatever they can for others, a selfless individuals with no desire to truly care for themself but only for others. Silvers are almost as rare as Sirens, though not terribly so and will Chase both Queens and the 2nd Ranked Clutching Females, Spinels, though rarely, if ever, Chase the 3rd Ranking Females. Always Ranked within the Siren Wing, Weyrleader Wing, or Gold Wing, rarely ever a lower Wing aside from Weyrling.

Chases - All higher ranked females, occasionally lower ranking, BUT will only Chase their Queenmate after becoming Weyrleader and fend off rivals violently.

Bronze

Once the only King the Bronze is now the second ranked King on Pern, after the Silver. Large, but still not larger than the Silver these self-absorbed lizards are always trying to outdo the Silvers in everything. Ranging from a burnished bronze to a brassy rusty almost red gold with slight tones of or stripes of other bronze tones across their hide. Too proud to admit that a Silver is actually higher then they are they have a hard time taking orders from them. However, the instant a Siren sends an order the Bronze will become a pussycat. A Bronze Impresses to a young man who can be a great leader, someone who can make the Weyr stronger, though sometimes these individuals can be just as arrogant as a Bronze. However, there are some Bronzes out there that are like that of the gentle Urlith though they are few and far between. They say what they want, when they want it, though are perfect ‘gentle dragons’ in the presence of a Siren. These dragons Chases pretty much any color though will always attempt a Queen no matter the odds.

Onyx

Large powerful and as black as the deepest abyss, the Onyx is the third King and proud of it. Averaging a few feet shorter than Bronze these dragons are just as arrogant as a Bronze and have very hard head, acting like an irrational teenager for the first few turns of their life. Their color does not range very far from simply being pitch black, like looking up into a moonless, cloudless, starless night sky, that is the color of an Onyx. Onyxes grow calmer as they age and once they reach around nine to ten turns could easily make an ideal Siren/Gold Weyrleader. A young man with rebellious qualities are the Candidates this dragon looks for, especially those that need to be knocked down a peg or two, for it WILL occur under the guidance of a Siren and Gold, Sirens usually don’t deal with young Onyxes and will often attack a young rebellious Onyx if it tries to Fly them.

Chases - All higher ranked females, however, if Onyx is young a Siren may attack it, 2nd Ranked female, and all lower ranked females

2nd RANKING



Copper

The first of the 2nd Ranked dragons is the Copper, though in appearance it sometimes looks like a rusty Brown. These dragons range from nearly rusty red to a near brassy bronze tone. The dragons are the work horses of the community, powerful physically with an equal amount of intelligence and patience. Coppers are calm and responsive they are better followers then leaders and look for a Candidate who has lost their way and need guidance to become great followers. Now, that is not a bad thing, if not for the followers the leaders would have nothing to leader and there would be no Weyr, so the more focused a Copper is upon its duties, the more valued it is to the Weyr and to the Queens. Obedient and silent behemoths this dragon, even though it is a 2nd Ranked Dragon, it is huge!

Brown

Still the same workhorse as in the past, the Brown must now compete with its larger 2nd Ranking brother for the spotlight. Ranging from pale beige to a deep muddy brown, these dragons have a wide range of brown color tones and can exhibit patterns of either darker or lighter tones across their bodies. It should be said that Coppers have the same mentality as Browns, due to Browns being around first and it is true, Browns are hardworking, strong bodied dragons, though they cannot match the Copper in size and due to this do is not permitted to do the larger physically demanding projects in the Weyr. As with Coppers hardworking individuals are what this dragon desires, though they are not as follower oriented as Coppers and can be seen as a Gold Weyrleader or Gold Junior Weyrleader, however it is exceptionally rare for a Brown to Catch a Siren.

Spinel

Bad tempered, fiery attitude, and fiesty are what make Spinels tick. The color of their hide is the same as their personalities, fiery red, though they can range from a deep blood red to a near pale pastel pink. The tone of a Spinels’ hide in all honesty determines what kind of personality a Spinel will have and how tight of a fist not only the rider but the Queens must have in taming their fiery nature. Much like the Onyx these dragons prefer a hot tempered rider who need a little guidance in the right direction, though their attitudes are never really solved. Unlike Onyxes though a Spinel may not mature with age and must always be handled with a strong hand to keep them in line. A Spinel can choose to chew firestone or not, if they choose to they will immediately lose the ability to Clutch, this is covered in Weyrling training before firestone chewing and the decision is made by the rider and Spinel in question. Spinels are the final Clutchers though they are not very good mothers and though it is rare a Siren may have to take over a Clutch due to the dams disinterest in the eggs.

3rd RANKING


Blue

Top of his Rank but at the bottom of the pole, Blues are pretty much the same they have always been. More slender in build over their time in Final Haven Blue have become almost as fast as Greens in their speed. Ranging from a pale nearly ice blue to a deep sapphire tone, much like Browns, their colors can be on either end of the spectrum. Slightly flighty and goofy these dragons look for a free spirited individual who loves to have fun and make as many friends as possible, an incredibly social butterfly if you will. Though they are a little tricky and can be a real nuisance at times they are one of the most trustworthy dragons of the Weyr and will keep a secret even when they pass, they are true friends and forever companions for any individual, usually being confidants for Sirens, especially when the Siren is young.

Green

Though Greens are no longer the fastest dragons around they are neither the smallest dragons any longer. Greens are the largest female of the 3rd Ranking class of dragons. Pale grass green to deep emerald so dark they nearly look black are the colors these dragons can range from. Lovely creatures, they are the flirtiest dragons around with the worst mood swings to match. Unfortunately, that personality also entails a slightly scattered brain and a creature who couldn’t keep a secret if your life depended on it. Flirty riders who like to have a good time with a bedfellow are who this dragon seeks out though they do have the ability to be serious. In the most extreme case these dragons can become an egg sitter for Golds and Sirens when the Dam must rest or feed, but only the most trusted and level-headed of greens may have such a priviledge.

Topaz

The Greens have earned themselves a twin, though Topazes are not nearly as streamlined as Greens are now. Unlike Greens Topazes are a truly motherly type who wish to take all burdens of others unto themselves and aid in any way possible. Topazes come in one color, a pale sun yellow that can only range slightly lighter or slightly darker, but never reaching anything close to gold of bronze, though one would never mistake them for a Gold due to their size. If a suitable Green cannot be found to eggsit for A Siren or Gold then a Topaz would definitely be chosen to take up the responsibility. Those who need to be mothered or cared for are what draws this dragon, though a level-head never hurt either.

White & Crystal

Whites and Crystals are one in the same, the only difference is that Whites are Males and Crystals are Females. The White it just that, pure snow white and very rarely does this dragon have other colors in their hide. Crystals are different, they are the only Lower Ranking Female who have a shimmering quality to their hide, almost as if their bodies are made out of the very substance they are named after. Whites and Crystals are thin wispy creatures and the smallest of all the dragons on Pern. Happy, free and fun loving individuals and seek the same kind of mind in their Chosen. Though underneath all of that giddy happiness and playful demenor they hide a wealth of intelligence that must be trained to truly be of any use to them when they grow older. Tender hearted towards all around them they are not one to upset, especially where their Bonded is involved. Though they are laid back a Crystal or White has been known to threaten an attacker through their mind if their rider is threatened…however one must think of their words as promises…not threats.
