I know that all of you are waiting with baited breath for the next release, just remember to keep on with your daily lives instead of watching the news feed 24/7!
While we're all sitting around, not accomplishing much else in our spare time, why not discuss what you would like to see in a future release of FoM (Not necessarily the next release. Maybe the one after that.) While you're at it, give a nice explanation of your feature if it's something new and innovative. Personally, I'd like to see more 'special' monsters, more mini-bosses, specifically the Mancubus and the Mastermind, and some special one-use items. Of course, I've already stated before that the ability to mod the game would make me insanely happy. Now it's your turn! |

I think that a map would be a rather good idea, as it's hard to make out where you've been and haven't been sometimes. I do wonder how the berzerk packs, invulnurability sphere and megahealth would work in the game though.... if they would at all.

Increasing the movement/shooting speed (both for player and enemies) would be nice. Otherwise the game plays pretty slowly.
Next thing would be improving the savegame feature. Right now it's kind of bugged (items are lost / change into different ones on load) and not size-efficient (the file seems to contain a log of every status message the player received). |

I'd say in future releases, the status messages will not be needed and that they're there for debugging/troubleshooting purposes. Removing all the status messages in a more stable release would prolly decrease the file size and time it takes to save by a lot. I do wonder though how Diablo's map generation algorithm works though, as it seems to generate a few levels at a time.

Indeed, the messages are somewhat annoying and almost pointless, except for telling how much EXP and ammo the player receives, and damage dealt/received, but those can all be displayed in other, more efficient ways. Even, instead of removing them, just have the messages cleared/deleted when the Save is confirmed.
I'd like to see more use of weapons that fire visible projectiles, such as the plasma rifle, as well as enemies that don't simply move toward the player, then it would be more of a challenge to inflict damage. |

Man, I would like to see anything new or fixed. Any game update would be freakin awesome...I would love to see a change log : ) The main thing I would like to see is a word from intmain() on the next release(if any) of the project.

Well, the last I heard, intmain() was in the process of stopping a giant half-manatee, half-squid from sitting on his house, and I think he had a dentist appointment scheduled for whenever the former task was completed. Honestly, I don't know which is going to be more difficult for him to overcome...

This 'project' seems kind of dead to me. No offense to intmain or anyone else who dissagres

Well I choose to ignore your denial of offense, and feel very hurt that you would say something so cruel (Kidding.) If you have faith and patience, intmain() will put out a new version. You know, just like if you have faith and patience in God, what you pray for may actually some day possibly-but-probably-not come true. |
