Well all I can say that if the same people who were in the helm of the last/current/whatever government continue we are completely fucked.
And by we I mean us regular working people.

Their plans are to raise for example VAT which only means that again the poor people end up paying the bills that are caused by Jyrki Käteinen and his mouth foaming need to shove money to nations who can't run their finances properly.
And will never ever pay the loans back.
In the meanwhile the rich get richer becuse compared to the regular working people their tax load is much much much smaller. Which of course makes sense when you think about it: why should those who have more pay more, why not let the people who already have nothing pay it.. rolleyes.gif
Cunts..

And btw, regardless of what you may have heard or read us regular working people don't generally make 2500-4000€/month, some do (in the southern finland and/or after having worked for the same employer for a decade or two) but for example most factory workers earn a whopping 1200-1800€/month.
Which isn't much when you have to pay rent/mortage and car loan payments for example + feed your family..

In the 1930's we would have already taken our rifles and marched to the "arkadian mäen apinakiikku" to make things right but I guess nowadays Finns are just complete pussies.. dry.gif

I'm not into politics at all but the couple of recent years have made me get into it a bit. I'm not supporting any particular party because there seriously is none that would fit my views 100%.

The fact however is that Keskusta and Kokoomus must not be allowed to continue so I must now do my part and select the least sucking alternative and hope that can be achieved ..

If things were to get better in reality, then everyone should vote for the obious best. I personally dislike this long time political party power structure. I do also oppose the EU.

Finland isnt one of those countries that like 40% of the people are getting paid by the government because they don't want to or can't work, is it?

I don't know anything about Finnish politics but it dosen't seem very smart to tax heavily on middle class and poor. And give breaks to the rich. It may encourage bisiness but it dosen't encourage shoppers.

Frankly for me there is very few parties that I could even think to vote in this election, so it has been rather difficult for me in general. I suppose I can take some consolidation on the fact that no matter who wins nothing will change dry.gif

Last government got the repression (not just in Finland, but whole EU) riding on their back which caused a lot of dislike towards them, but I find it rather narrow minded from people to think that we can just shut down in our cocoon and pretend that there is no world outside. A lot of difficult decisions had to be made, in fact so many that nobody can seem to remember any good results...

The reason why rich people wont be taxed higher than regular people is that they pay majority of winning electorates campaigning and rest are too weak to change anything. Of course there is those people who come to sit there for 4 years and get paid ~3800 euros monthly without even opening their mouth or attending... Only thing everybody in Arkadianmäki seems to agree is raising their own monthly income. Still I would thank Niinistö that we aren't in worse situation than now, we need more politicians like him; sufficient experience in politics and handling governmental funds.

Unemployment rate in Finland was 7,9% in Aug 2009. So not really.
Even though I also get paid by government, but then again I do work for it tongue.gif

EDIT: Trimmed my rant... rolleyes.gif

I don't see how it is OK to give out billions of money to some country that is ruined by greedy assholes by loaning that money from someone else and then make taxpayers pay it.. That's so illogical that it makes my head hurt..

Instead they could have said that "look, we can only give this much, take it or leave it."

And guess where all that money we loaned to pay the ruined countries, and the majority of the debt for example the US has taken comes from.
China.
So communists own Europe and the US, the biggest capitalistic systems on the planet. Can irony get more.. well.. ..ironier than that rofl.gif

Apparently I cut the part of my rant which included reasoning for that tongue.gif

Essentially they did that, except with very strict guidelines and rules to country that received the benefits. They're not handouts in any way.

Well when you place ultimate saving country against ultimate spending country you tend to get such results tongue.gif

Russia also has big chunk in their pocket, as long as they provide gas to Europe. However China could probably crush USA if they demanded all their funding back and close all businesses in US. confused0006.gif

Have you followed what has happened since?
I think Greece might be a bit better but Ireland is still failing..
Onbviously don't quote me on ethis tongue.gif

I give 0.00001% chance either one of them ever pays us back.
Thus the money given to them is a handout.

And now they're wanting to give Portugal the money without any of those guarantees they insisted Ireland and Greece give.
And what do the guarantees even mean, they just words: "Do you guarantee you will pay us back and blah blah?" "Yes."
Exactly as binding as "Do you promise to love blahblehbluh till the day you die?" "I do." rolleyes.gif

Oh, and in the meanwhile it seems to be close to impossible to get a car loan of a few thousands of € because my current job is "temporary" (virtually not one employer dares to sign a "contract for life" nowadays, so..).
Hmm, maybe I should start up a country and get the money from the EU.. tongue.gif wink.gif

QUOTE

I meant Finland, I don't give a rat's ass what the other countries paid.
We paid 550 million to Greece without affording it, the money had to be loaned.

I mean every single person who hears a private person handling their finances that way calls that person a complete idiot, moron, dumbass, "take him behind a sauna and put a bullet in his head" but suddenly when a country does that it's OK..

I'm not saying that the handout was completely wrong just the part where we had to pay way way more than we could have afforded...
And they didn't exactly ask what we The People thought of it and now they want us to pay.. I think Jyrki Käteinen and his assholecohorts should pay it by themselves, maybe they would then understand what it is like to be a regular-Joe..

We just should have paid less. EU has become the new scarecrow for us like the Soviet Union/Russia used to be and no-one in the those mentioned parties of ours dares to question the EU although I can't really think of anything good that came out of joining that union..

I find debating over politics to be as dumb and fruitless as debating over religion. face_palm.gif

Quite, except making religious people annoyed is rather fun, especially Jehovas witnesses tongue.gif

Also seems that we have new major party Kokoomus, SDP made a comeback (which I find strange with their spokesperson) and Persut got big support as polls suggested.

How so?
At least she could easily hold her own in debates; was for example able to shut up Käteinen..

QUOTE

Yes, awesome.
So now Käteinen is the new prime minister dry.gif
