Just curious to ask if out there is any helpful gracethroats (finnish) to give their voice for my missions, if i happen to need'em.
I have couple friends who record for me but usually that is not enough in a long run. I like speaking in missions so if out there is someone, RE: ! ...and if someone needs my voice (english or finnish), just tell me about it |

Good question.
Many of those drafted were really just 17-year old kids. But it's not my decision. |

Okey guys, annoucement!
Right now i am not doing anything with OFP until i get new computer parts (prosessor, memory etc.) Once i get those (somewhere around december) i will start to make missions again and then i will need voiceactors. I was thinking about makeing a WW2 winter war campaing (maybe all WW2 wars that finnish had, the winter war, continuos war) so i check back here again when i need you guys |

I may be a bit late on this, but if any type of sound editing is needed, I will offer my services. Got quite professional type tools for it, so do not hesitate to ask me.
Just tell me what you need and I'll have it a try. |

I knew i can count on GrimErazer
Well, i don't know what am i going to do with those campaigns. Thou i started to build winter war part of the campaign and almost got the intro finished (some little bugs here and there and then they start to appear from everywhere and then i shoot myself and...) But im pretty sure i will finish it some day, it just asks a lot for a one man to do a credible storyline, about 20-30 mission, + cutscenes for every single one of them + intro and outro....whiu, got all sweaty already. To get enough voiceactors for a project like that is hard...unless you are a part of a MOD that has people ready to do that, and without voiceactors, a campaign only with texts losts 25% of its atmosphere. You need to go to speak with some officer, and texts start appearing but no speech etc, it doesn't give anykind of an identity to those characters. Btw Grim what sound editing tool you got? |

I have several for basic sound & music editing tools. Two of my favorites for just small fine tuning and/or simple fixes are Sony Sound Forge 7.0 (semi pro tool) and Steinberg WaveLab (this is a pro!). And then if more complicated result or lots of work & effetcs are to be needed, I prefer to work them with Steinberg Cubase SX - which has yet never let me down...! My skills & knowledge ends up before the capability of this program. But in the end, the quality of the final mixdown depends just how much I have felt I wanted to spare my time to clean & polish the sounds as good as the can be - as you may guess it sometimes just isn't the point. But well - I think those are the most used ones for me... for wave-type sound editing, that is. |

I could try out that Sony sound forge 7.0...haven't heard from that Steinberg WaveLab, might give that a try too.
Im useing Adobe audition 2.0 at the moment, pro software also, don't got much knowledge about it even after 2 years of useing it, but that might be beacause i haven't spare lots of time trying to learn to use it well, and i only use it with OFP sounds, but i can make my sounds clear enough with it. There might be a line or two for you to record for my example mission for Hater_kint. As a lieutenant, you got that "skappari voice" in you, and you are older than me -> ( "The hero of my mission...of course There is 4-6 characters that i need to have unique voices, and at the moment i got only 1, so here we go again. But nothing certain yet, mission ain't anywhere near ready, haven't got much time to do it in the last couple of days, and tomorrow (sunday) might go far with very very very bad hangover after the night |

I had the pleasure of working with ProTools 24 for some time (before that I worked with ADAT based system a lot *urgh*) and after that every single audio editing/recording software no matter how pro or un-pro it is has felt like crap...

ProTools is Pro, as it says. But so are the Steinberg products, I'd say! Well, after all it depends on where you need the program to be used, to make up what you finally select to use. Most pro-class programs are quite full of funtions you actually merely never need... |

Yes, and it has some disadvantages like price, and limit on the track amount you can have (limited by ProTools hardware, and I think the software too)..
Steinberg Nuendo can run like hundreds of tracks, all depends on how powerfull your computer is, not the amount of audiohardware you have.. And yeah, all the time I worked with ProTools I probably used like 1/3 of the features it has |
