| Ok I decided to open this topic to maintain all my WIP works in one, I expect that peteliuz will do same soon as he feels comfortable with it.
To start this topic here is WIP picture of finnish soldier armed with M/27 Infantry rifle and wearing german M/18 helmet with finnish green camo paint.
Comments and criticism is welcomed
|Posted by: peteliuz Mar 22 2008, 05:35 PM|
It would be comfortable for me now, no problem. Feedback is needed during the process - not only afterwards. Here's some of my piece of cake about texturizing T-26 snow camo ("leader-version" with radio, see: antennas):
EDIT 1: removed some pics. Too much I "eye candy" is not good. There has to be some excitement
EDIT 2: Updated pics
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jun 14 2008, 04:24 PM|
| Time to update this thread again, been quiet for a while however not much comments in here anyway, which doesn't exactly help to increase amount of WIP pics in here

Comparison between OFP soldier and ArmA soldier
Some basic equipments, breadbag and canteen
More to come at somepoint

Stay tuned, we're planning major picture release soon

| We need more people to commit in our cause, especially modellers, texture artist, scripters and island makers. Also freelancers are welcomed. If you think you can contribute to us, be sure to contact me with PM
Now some progress pictures, more of promotional ones this time, but we hope to show some in-game picture soon.

| Here is first public in-game pictures of mod, enjoy
|Posted by: MarcusaQ Aug 2 2008, 11:41 AM|
| Looks veeeery promising, guys! There is a great need of WW2 addons for Arma mission makers and when we get Finnish stuff to the game - even better!
One suggestion: Finnish army had propably some 12 different types of helmets in wartime use. It would be historically more adequate to use a much wider selection of helmets than the most often seen german type.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Aug 2 2008, 08:14 PM|
| We will make few variations on helmet, however helmets that were used in winter war are almost similiar with few rivettes and chinstrap.
In winter war there was only:
M/16 German Helmet
M/17 German Helmet
M/18 German Helmet
M/16 Austro-Hungarian Helmet
Other didn't come before Continuation war, so there is unfortunantly very little variation on them in first release.

| Here is current progress of Soviet greatcoat soldier, budyonovka is too dark I have to brighten it up a bit.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Aug 15 2008, 08:33 AM|
| I have taken few more ingame screenshots for our fans to enjoy, now even including soviet soldiers in them by close range. Hope you like them
|Posted by: peteliuz Sep 14 2008, 02:35 PM|
| Hi guys!
I just wanted to say that great work with those soldier-models! Especially they look great with T-26 Keep up the good work.
I will follow up your modding-process.
P.S. Btw, Arma 2 looks and "feels" great (regarding news-articles etc). I hope that there will be something new in Arma 2 - not just updated version of Arma 1. Hopefully it is going to be great game. I am open to OFP2 too even if it's developed by Codemasters. At least the articles about OFP2 has been promising (realistic features, not arcadish and so on).
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 16 2008, 09:54 AM|
| Good to see you around here, peteliuz!
I am almost done with your baby, just needs to have fixes in RVMATs and special textures
|Posted by: peteliuz Sep 17 2008, 07:29 PM|
| Good to see you too! It's refreshing to have few words here sometimes because we have been working together.
That is one of the best screenshot that I have seen about FWW2 mod's T-26. It's looking very nice with the green "stains", shadows etc. It definitely needs the green stains! But maybe those stains could look a little bit sharper here and there to create different kind of varying volume for the tank painter's brush strokes ("siveltimenvedot"). Or is that blurred effect on stains a videocard / graphics settings related issue?
Btw, how's the other deveploment-segments of the mod going on?
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 18 2008, 06:22 AM|
| I wanted to make it look bit more like tainted and add some "brush strokes" in it to break clean pattern. It looks bit more like hasty work rather than shop-painted. Unfortunantly in some distance those effects become little bit blurry looking, but that might be just my low end computer that makes it.
Here is picture taken from Buldozer without shadows, should give bit better idea of overall tank.
Otherwise we're getting stuff done in pretty good rate, I am at least, lately people has had some engagements in real lide to deal with that has slowed us down a bit. However I hope to post some new Soviet infantry pictures shortly, perhaps I manage to accompany them with more T-26 and new finnish troops
|Posted by: peteliuz Sep 19 2008, 05:04 PM|
| No nyt nuo siveltimenveto-tekstuurit pääsivät oikeuksiinsa Bulldozerissa. It looks nice. Looking forward to see more screenshots about FWW2 mod in the future.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Nov 5 2008, 07:54 AM|
| Those who still lurk here in hopes of updates, I think I can satisfy your curiousity. Small update with WIP proxies as place holders, just to get places right.
Granted its not much, but I try to get something more soon to show, be patient.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Nov 19 2008, 09:25 AM|
| Here you have bit bigger update on stuff that you have not seen yet. There is still more to show, but it will have to wait a while
Don't mind skin color of those two soviet soldiers, they're still using Blufor faces. I will change this, but for now I have more important things to get done.
Stay tuned for updates!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Nov 26 2008, 08:30 AM|
| Since 69th anniversary of beginning of Winter war draws closer we felt that it was time to show something again for community and our faithful fans. There is still quite a lot of stuff that I don't show because its not quite ready for it and I don't have that much time take screenshots, but expect more pictures all the way until 30th
This time we have two new ingame screenshots, both has some faked parts, just remember that they're promotional screenshots, not all is real what you see.
First few in-game screenshots; Soviet troops advancing with pretty careless attidute in Finnish territory (in beginning some Soviets units even marched on road in marching formation) and in second Finnish soldier takes care of T-26 m.31 which has come too far from its main force.
First promo picture has some grenades, AT-weapons and magazines, just because it looks nice Second one is T-26 model 1931 in promo frames. This tank will represent the oldest what Soviets has to offer on light tanks in this mod. However don't be fooled by its funny look, it is extremely leathal to infantry thanks to twin turret that can cover both sides same time.
Lastly little bit older progress screenshot in Buldozer:
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Dec 1 2008, 09:48 AM|
| Sorry that this is day late and there is less pictures than I had hope for, but RL demanded more attention and left less time for this. Still here is three new pictures for your joy, hope you like them.
First promo shot of OT-130 flamethrower tank, it comes also in winter camo colors. Its most common of dozens flamethrower tank variations that Soviet had during Winter war.
Finnish soldiers that were delaying Soviet advance are forced to retreat after taking heavy casualties. In first days of war fighting was desperate and many suffered from "tank shock", since most had not even seen tanks before.
First days of war Finnish troops ambushed and used hit-and-run tactics against advancing enemy in hope to stall Soviet war machine so there would be more time to setup defences in main defence line (later known Mannerheim-line). Finnish patrol has destroyed enemy scouts and are scavenging for weapons and equipment.

|Nice Pics ! can you send that animation where that finnish soldier is moving that injured soviet guy to cover ??|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Dec 1 2008, 12:57 PM|
|Thanks. Its from SLX mod which you can find pretty much from everywhere, you can also use parts of it as seperate components (with only issues being few error boxes in-game when hit first time) so you just need http://www.armedassault.info/index.php?cat=addons&id=625 to able to use that animation.|
|Posted by: peteliuz Dec 30 2008, 08:55 PM|
| Absolutely beautiful work guys! Especially T-26 (summer camo) looks great with different kind of details in the surface. Also grenades, molotovs etc. looks pro because of professional "hand-painted" textures.
You have catched the look and feel of Winter war, slowly but firmly.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Dec 31 2008, 08:32 AM|
Well we need to remember that its greatly thanks to you that our T-26 looks this good in first place
It certainly gives nice look on them, but unfortunantly it takes quite a lot work to get them done.
Thanks, its our main goal. We still have place for you if you find time somewhen to come back. BTW have you already managed to get your computer updated?
|Posted by: peteliuz Jan 1 2009, 12:12 PM|
That's true, but I meant the final small extra details made by you There's something new on the surface.
Yes, it took a lot of time too when I was working on with T-26. Unfortunately I don't have time, interest and strenght to participate at the moment, but I will follow up the modding process.
By the way, our second child is going to born until 2 months!
My desktop PC is in the closet and I am using our new laptop at the moment. I tested to install and play Arma demo with the laptop, but the graphics-card doesn't have good enough features to run the Arma demo. No, enpä menettänyt paljoa, koska Arma demo on aika kökkö muutenkin.
I wish you all a Bright New Year 2009!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jan 2 2009, 08:33 AM|
I added 4 additional detail layers on base-texture and one additional detail layer in normals texture, also did proper enhancing on bolts and hatches etc. It certainly gives quite advanced look on original texture layer that I gave you when you started working on it.
Good for you and good luck with it (you will need it), especially when she/he turns 2 (I assume your first born isn't that much older than that), with two kids it turns quite messy very quickly.
My second child turned 2 bit over 2 months ago
Likewise, also to whole community too and lurkers around here
Here is my gift for you all in honor of new year:
T-26 gunnery optics
I had other picture too, but I forgot to upload it
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jan 3 2009, 10:59 PM|
| Ok with help Canukausiuka I got DT lmg optic work properly ingame and I can post it here for you to view.
Also one in-game screenshot, I certainly was in haste to get myself out of there at that time. Luckily I had satchel charge with me (which also killed me)
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jan 6 2009, 10:22 PM|
| Now its something completely new, our own (lame) gore event. Just wanted to share first look in our custom wound textures (face wound of course is from BIS).
|Posted by: Cappe Jan 16 2009, 07:33 PM|
| T26 its nice !
good to see new updates!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jan 18 2009, 12:42 AM|
| Again small update, unfortunantly nothing really new to show. I have been lately working a lot on wounds, soldiers and their equipments LODs, made small fixes on textures and made couple new soldiers for finnish side.
Small update on finnish soldier wounds. They're much more restrained than original ArmA wounds, which I personally always found quite over done. So just few holes here and there, most of soldiers were armed with regular rifles anyway so should fit quite well.
Soviet infantry platoon with support of three T-26's managed to drive finns away from their defence positions at unknown hill, both suffered heavy casualties.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jan 27 2009, 11:45 AM|
| Small weapon update:
PPD-34 and PPD-34/38 (early version). These weapons were rather rare as soviet officers didn't think that there was any real significance on military use. However when Soviets faced M/31 Suomi SMG during Winter war they were quick to change their minds and shipped PPDs to front.
|Posted by: Cappe Jan 28 2009, 03:13 PM|
| Nice PPDs that is good enemy to Finnish SMG guy!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jan 29 2009, 08:07 AM|
| Yeah it came out pretty nice, especially wood parts.
Smaller update this time, just quick look on remake of pipemine with winter wash camo. Its quite deadly, it can kill whole squad if NCO walks on tripwire.
|Posted by: Cappe Feb 1 2009, 11:16 AM|
| Nice bomb needs just one platoon and two of those and BOOM!!
whole platoon gone!
|Posted by: Ferder Feb 1 2009, 01:58 PM|
i like this
|Posted by: Erasmus Feb 5 2009, 03:23 PM|
|Oh dear. I can't wait this release! Can't wait to edit mission where huge red army masses are pushing their way through the Taipaleenjoki, without stradegical success Models looks great! Keep up with good work|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Feb 5 2009, 04:28 PM|
| Well you're certainly in luck, planned island/map is area of Taipale/Terenttilä. I start working on island satmap and if time permits island itself at end of this month. I will be posting updates in public side as I make progress.
Very small update since I actually got around to reply here.
|Posted by: Cappe Feb 6 2009, 06:25 PM|
| That helmet is nice it looks
like he crawled trough enemy positions and been waiting hours in the forest!
and nice to hear of the map cant wait to move trough Finnish snowy forest and wait to tank to come closer and throw Molotoff to the tank!
|Posted by: peteliuz Feb 16 2009, 09:32 PM|
| Hi all,
Nice looking stuff again FWW2 team! Especially I like realistic look of the helmet and the bomb is not that bad too. Is the white color paint or snow on the helmet? To me it looks paint.
By the way, I decided to publish Laplandwar 1944-1945 project site again as rememberance of the project which was very interesting to participate tow years ago:
http://www.peteliuz.net/laplandwar_project (you can skip the intro by clicking the image)
Please, visit the site's gallery and have "timetravel" to the Lapland's past There's also some background information of the closed project. All screenshots in the gallery doesn't show up because I haven't fixed the links etc. But most of them show up.
Keep up the good work!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Feb 17 2009, 08:15 AM|
Hi again peteliuz, nice to see that you still check in here occasionally.
Yes helmet is wash painted with chalk paint (I believe). There wasn't always enough to go around for all of the helmet so it was just spalshed here and there, so it covered most of helmet at least.
|Posted by: peteliuz Feb 17 2009, 08:19 PM|
| It is nice to see you too.
Keep the same line in modding with such details as the chalk-paint in helmet. Small details creates authentic and convincing atmosphere. Small details are like salt or good spice in the food.
Guys, what do you think about recent Laplandwar 19441945 -project site which I told before? It was fun to make the site online again as a "rememberance museum" of the closed project.
Maybe I will host the site as a news site for all WW2 related Armed Assault mods etc. It would be fun.
The English text regarding background information -page is now updated:
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Feb 18 2009, 07:47 AM|
| Small details certainly makes it, but all small details tend to take a while to add so it sadly slows down progress a bit.
I saw Lapland war homepage, as it used to it still looks nice
However not really right topic to post it in, we also have non-FWW2 section where it could have been posted.
I think Rip31st would certainly like to have a homepage, so its something that you could ask from him, since as far as I know they're missing own page or/and forums.
Also some sort of an central hub of WW2 mods might not be bad idea either.
|Posted by: peteliuz Feb 18 2009, 03:14 PM|
Sorry! You are right that this is not right thread for Laplandwar -issues. You can move this discussion to forum's non-fww2 -section if it is ok for you.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Feb 19 2009, 08:29 AM|
|No special need for it, you can however make new topic there if you feel that you want to continue it still.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Feb 25 2009, 09:45 PM|
| Ok, not very big update, but I just wanted to have something for you all to show that we actually are working with something
Satmap quadrant of quadrant of whole map and still hugely WIP.
Otherwise a lot of work on LODs of Soviet soldiers, so nothing really to show, sorry
This leads me on following plea: If you have any skills with Visitor, please do contact us. It would be haste our progress immensively.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Feb 26 2009, 08:57 AM|
| As poll draws closer to end and we have had such an huge amount of votes in it, I post this as down payment. Its very simple, but it turned out rather nice.
Of course NCO has edited collar and you can see it very easy, I try to get soviet NCO and officer soon for show, just thinking about equipment NCO should carry.
I will be posting more soon, also more detailed picture of finnish soldiers (after few fixes I need to make on their textures).
|Posted by: peteliuz Feb 26 2009, 07:21 PM|
|That tank looks absolutely fantastic with shadows on etc! The screenshot is also from nice looking point of view.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Feb 27 2009, 09:13 AM|
| There is some small issues in turret shadow still, but it might be just me and shape of turret generally that makes it.
I got one very basic idea of soviets again and I try to make it during weekend, also I have scheduled DP-27 for this weekend. So you propably will be getting at least one weapons screenshot and another action shot.
Also on that screenshot, notice binoculars: proxy and optic are both custom.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 1 2009, 01:07 PM|
| Something new for you all, soviet officer with sheepskin coat. Equipment is still bit WIP (missing mapcase & binoculars and LODs).
Update, since you wanted to have action screenshots. These are nothing really special, just took them on one FPS stress test mission, besides of the first 4 screens which I staged quickly.
Note: Sorry for american faces, haven't gotten around to disable them yet.
Calm before storm, from view of soldier and officer of RKKA.
And we are off to fight! Which ended on devastating defeat.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 1 2009, 03:21 PM|
| Second post, too many pictures for one post.
This time we brought tanks with us, not that the other one managed to do anything really. Second picture is just for peteliuz, since you share such an special releation to T-26 (shadow seems to disable normal mapping).
First finnish casualty, squad leader bought it straight away. So his pal decided to extract some first hand revenge, not sure thou is that really good idea to run directly at 1,5 platoon of soviet infantry and T-26 (note that landscape in this part is favoring attacker and there are times when neither one sees each others even if distance is less than 100m)
However that finnish soldier managed to get quite far and in decent shape (killed 6 soldiers at short range), mostly because that T-26 had problems to bring him down. His end came while trying to throw grenade (I missed just and just with screenshot, he got hit directly on head).
He tried to rescue his friend, but our friendly neighborhood politruk got him (you can see WIP DP-27 on finnish soldier). Attack came at halt and soviets had to pull back when they lost their armored support.
Hope everybody had as much as fun as I did
|Posted by: Erasmus Mar 1 2009, 06:59 PM|
|Great job once again guys! Damn COOL pics I've said this about 5 times but... I just can't wait for this release! Carry on|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 2 2009, 08:10 AM|
| I personally think that pictures aren't all too good, I didn't spend enough time prepear proper mood and scenery for them. However all of them are in-game unedited screenshots (with my mid-level computer).
Still its nice to know that we actually have some fans, been far too long quiet in these forums, motivates us more
|Posted by: peteliuz Mar 2 2009, 07:49 PM|
VonR, please don't be modest. You have taken good screenshots indeed! Maybe not best, but good.
I think that in general only Invasion 1944 mod and some other Arma WW2 mod have reached the same level in modeling, texturing and designing than FWW2.
Very good professional work, especially when compared to small resources regarding FWW2 team members.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 2 2009, 09:13 PM|
That certainly is a compliment or should I say praise that I dont know how to answer to, so I say: thank you. I might not quite agree on that, but I am biased anyway.
Still not to forget that you are to be thanked on vast efford on T-26 textures. I don't think that beyond of permanent mod members (even some of mod members) nobody has donated in such magnitude,
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 4 2009, 09:57 PM|
| Lets keep up our "on the skin"-theme and I post close up picture of soviet greatcoat soldier. I will be posting another one tomorrow accompanied by at least two of finnish soldier in same idea, just need to polish up few small details otherwise you would have had them today.
Its a real pity that my computer isn't high tech, would get so much better screenshots ingame.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 5 2009, 08:42 AM|
| I post new reply for this, because if I would edit the other one it would be too wide to view properly.
Soviet soldiers rear view.
|Posted by: Erasmus Mar 5 2009, 10:09 AM|
|If just the red army troops are this well detailed amongst your other models, I'm wondering how good this whole package will look like when this is released!|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 5 2009, 12:26 PM|
| We try to keep everything as high quality as previous so that there is balance of quality. I try to make everything as accurate as possible, I have spent countless hours trying to find exact equipment used at the period. There is some stuff that is nearly impossible to find and on few things we have to rely on artistic liberty.
For instance PPD-34 clip magazine pouch is something that I am unable to find, also Lahti-Saloranta mag pouches were unknown (I found ones used in '20 from Sotamuseo) until just few months ago. Lastly soviet brown greatcoat alone because of this russian part of community will lynch me, but I am 100% sure that they didn't only use cream-grey greatcoats, for them it just has to be artistic liberty.
In end we try to bring it to community as accurate as possible.
|Posted by: Erasmus Mar 5 2009, 05:30 PM|
| I understand that it's HARD to find good sources of 70 years old equipments. Especially soviet ones. They've been kept pretty low profile about winter war.
Are we going to see some more "white bandits" soon or later?
This question doesn't belong here, but even as I'm writing now so: Is there going to be red army soldiers with Telogreika-quilted jackets?
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 5 2009, 06:01 PM|
| Just certain items are hard, most made it through whole war anyway. On soviet equipment and uniforms its hard since official sources and literature says nay on certain things, but then photos say yay. Apparently lot of new winter equipment was tested in winter war, including shapka-ushenka and Telogreika (well sort of).
I actually was just thinking today can I managed to fit Telogreika texture in 2048x1024 texture, so yes it is going to be included and thanks to few things it shouldn't be even hard thing to do. Took bit thinking on this one too, not very many pre-war pictures of padded uniform out there (it changed three times in between 1939-1945). Lastly I do think that question belongs here.
And for white bandit, here you go.
Sorry for slightly skewed snow on hood, I was extremely unexperienced UV-mapper when I mapped this one. Propably not going to be fixed, takes too much time and efford.
|Posted by: Erasmus Mar 5 2009, 06:34 PM|
| Thank you for reply! Very good screenshots once again Thanks!
And why to hell fix that diminutive skew? I can't even see that there's something wrong I think there is no need to fix that! Those soldiers are looking great and totally awesome and that is ALL what I and others wan't Little skews are nothing. But I still appreciate with all respect your work, that you wan't to do best of you can. Yes, I'm hell of a fan of this mod It is an pity that FWW2 didn't see day light in OFP
KEEP UP WITH GOOD WORK!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 5 2009, 06:44 PM|
I made it, I see it. Unfortunant fact that I need to battle with. Helps me clean out flaws nonetheless.
OFP project collapsed on two things:
1. My military service, during that one year most of mod members vanished.
2. Remake of remake of remade soldier models and textures, took all of my time and efford.
We got stuck with soldiers especially, so now we decided since BIS provides good models, we modify them to our needs and wont change them for any reason. We learned from our mistake and its quite unlikely that I am called in service again (even thou I was revisiting there for 2 weeks in last summer)
We also have spent some time to discuss about possible release for OFP, unfortunantly its so wip that it requires seperate dedicated team to finish it up.
|Posted by: Erasmus Mar 5 2009, 11:13 PM|
|How about some pictures of weapons you've been made this far Would be nice to see more of them too!|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 6 2009, 06:29 PM|
| I guess that is possible, however there really isn't too much to see in there, all weapons that are done and ready for showing have been posted on public
I can post some detail screenshots.
|Posted by: Erasmus Mar 6 2009, 06:53 PM|
|Nice to hear that! By the way, that upcoming DP27 looks promising|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 8 2009, 06:03 PM|
| Aint it bit hard to say when you can't even really see it on that picture?
Nonetheless I am going to change that now. Two new weapon promo pictures, DP-27 and PPD-34.
Granted you already have seen PPD-34, but I planned it to be posted on other forums than ours. Almost went nuts with DP-27's drum texture and my computer didn't make it easy for me
|Posted by: Erasmus Mar 8 2009, 08:15 PM|
|HOLY SH*T! That DP27 looks incredible! Good job once again! Thanks|
|Posted by: Cappe Mar 9 2009, 10:19 AM|
| Those weapons are looking nice!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 12 2009, 09:59 PM|
| Time for a small update.
37mm PstK/36 - 37mm Bofors AT-gun WIP.
|Posted by: Ferder Mar 12 2009, 10:29 PM|
|yeah great cannon!!|
|Posted by: Cappe Mar 13 2009, 04:11 PM|
| Is any other cannons planned to soviets??
Looking great cant wait the relase!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 13 2009, 04:44 PM|
| We have planned http://www.jaegerplatoon.net/45PstK37_1.jpg for soviet side, but its depending if Centerbe is doing it. So it might be left out, not much use value in end anyway (except against bunkers and entrenchments + few tanks that finns might have to throw at them).
Funny thing with that AT-gun is that it actually has more polies than T-26 has
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 14 2009, 05:31 PM|
| Now this WIP is very early, so go easy on it. Collar tabs are too big, legs are not even really started and normal mapping is of greatcoat soldiers (almost everything completely misplaced and not proper for this texture).
|Posted by: Erasmus Mar 15 2009, 09:52 AM|
|Looking good! Well done|
|Posted by: SRK Mar 17 2009, 02:31 PM|
| Is the molotov cocktail use gonna more realistic this time? I mean in ofp you destroyed a tank simply by tossing it somewere on the tank or near it.
Is it possible to destroy the tank only by throwing it on the rear(engine)?.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 17 2009, 03:31 PM|
That would be FDF molotov, since we never released anything to OFP.
I can say that we accept nothing less than hit on tank hull, and as I have understood (now this is more of h- field of expertiese) optimal and the goal is nothing less than hit on rear deck of T-26 series and BT-series tanks for kill. Of course with proper effects and not instant explosion.
Molotov script has been on developement from 2004 (well obiviously we had to change it to fit ArmA from 2007 on) and its our 1st priority when it comes to scripts.
If there is something that can be revealed on detail, h- will be posting about it.
|Posted by: h- Mar 20 2009, 06:32 PM|
Just remember that I have re-written and tweaked it constantly, and of course I have been writing other stuff as well so it's probably only a few months in dev if you count the actual hours worked on it
The whole thing is a feature monster (close to 30 scripts used to create the effect this far), and of course the more features you add the more things you break and so you need to spend exponentially more time fixing bugs rather than actually developing it further. Especially when you suck at scripting like me..
Thought I'd post a crappy low-res video showing the molotov in "action"..
THIS FOR THIS FORUM ONLY. DO NOT POST THIS ANYWHERE ELSE, PLEASE.
Size is ca. 26Mb.. (I can post a better resolution one if you want me to)
And please remember that is completely WIP and alpha, everything looks like crap, etc...
What you can expect:
- "fire pool" pouring mainly in the throw direction of the impact point
- The "fire pool" shape is determined by the forward velocity; slower impact causes more round pool, fast impact causes more of an oval like pool (not seen on the video though, broke it recently )
- Damage done by the "flame" (not spawned bullets like FDF did it)
- Tank will be on fire when hit, only the hit position determines whether it affects the tank in any way.
- "Destroyed" tank (there will be no explosion) crew will eject the vehicle, mainly on fire themselves..
- etc. minor details, such as: you can escape from being burned (if you step on the flame) by running as fast as you can until the draft smothers the flame or by running into water (not wise during winter though ), the fauna will burn (proof of concept in the end of the video, still completely WIP), the AI will try to avoid the fire (not implemented yet) and so on..
However, for the AI this is probably done so that they get a certain random "luck factor" whether they hit or not. We'll see..

|Well, all i can say is keep up the good work|
|Posted by: Erasmus Mar 28 2009, 02:27 PM|
| Hello everyone!
How's the progress guys? Anything new about: island/map, soldiers, tanks and weaponry? Yes, I know i'm too hasty but just interested how are you doing right now?
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Mar 28 2009, 02:47 PM|
| At the moment I am working on satmap of our island, I can post some WIP in few days for viewing. However it takes some time and I try to make everything required for it so we can have it in work as soon as possible.
There is nothing wrong about being intrested
I was thinking about making small ingame clip in near future, but lets see now.
|Posted by: Erasmus Mar 28 2009, 02:58 PM|
| Thank you SO MUCH about information!
Ingame clip? That sounds great! I hope we're going to see it Just an damn good idea
|Posted by: Cappe Apr 6 2009, 10:16 AM|
| Great work with molotoffs!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 7 2009, 11:25 AM|
| And yet h- is not happy with them
Might take a while for in-game clip, but lets see what we can do and how soon we can do it. However in meanwhile I can offer addition to our soldier variant close-ups.
Pre-Great Patriotic War Telogreika (was later used on Gulags by prisoners), squad leader (Otdelennyi komandir rus. Отделенный командир) armed with AVS/SVT and Rifleman back turned for rear view.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 11 2009, 08:09 AM|
| This is bit older stuff already and texture has been updated, but we can say that this goes on "proof-of-concept" cathegory.
Same as I am not very fond of ArmA wound system, I am even less fond with destroyed tanks system. Textures fit very nice on modern burned tanks, but since that didn't really happen in WW2. So I saw fit to make our own damage textures.
Bear with me, texture is very buggy and has annoyingly high smdi levels.
|Posted by: Erasmus Apr 11 2009, 09:56 AM|
| Are we going to see some action videos soon? I can't wait this mod release with patience I check every single day these forums for something new! I hope this mod will come out, before my conscript service starts in july in PsPr.
It's great that you're using your own damage textures! Like holes on armor and burned engine room textures would be SO great. More of these soon? MORE, MORE, MORE! Just so beautiful work this far!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 12 2009, 07:12 AM|
Very unlikely. With this small team it is going to take a while, especially since island is still in satmap phase. Have nice conscript service thou, first a lot to do and then in end nothing to do (except constant "nakki"-warnings).
Propably going to make darkened area on engine hatch, since it fits best to molotov and kasapanos.
|Posted by: h- Apr 12 2009, 07:37 AM|
It's probably close to being ready for beta testing when you get out of the service
And by that time they have released Arma 2 and OFP:DR and no-one even looks back at ArmA and therefore we have worked in vain all these years.....
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 13 2009, 02:55 PM|
| Our work is always in vain, it is our trademark
Anyway something old, but just went through our OFP time work pictures and actually found first screenshots I ever took. Maybe I post them in some new nostalagy topic, but wanted to show one comparison.
OFP padded jacket soldier (note this is one of last ones I made for OFP) and ArmA padded clothing.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 17 2009, 06:43 AM|
| Nothing especially new, but updated and its huge, just to enjoy details (not that there is many thanks to simple design). I post it since I recall somebody asking for weapon screenshots?
M/31 Suomi smg as big picture and redone wood texture.
If you want to compare changes, take a look at http://fww2.org/kuvaa/promo/promo_suomiu.jpg.
Hope everybody is happy for 10 seconds at least
|Posted by: Erasmus Apr 17 2009, 01:19 PM|
| I'm dumbfounded. That "russian fear" looks absolutely beautiful
I like it. Now it even looks like that someone have really use it
Fantastic work, once again. Thank you!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 17 2009, 06:32 PM|
| Now it looks like that its actually made from wood
EDIT: By the way that picture is not edited or enhanced in PSP, Gimp or PS. Only background and background shadow has been added on it (also obiviously I have taken screenshot in various smaller screens and patched them together), so that is how it actually looks on high settings ingame.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 18 2009, 09:49 AM|
| M/27 Infantry Rifle updated, it still requires some work, but it has to wait until later.
|Posted by: $pitfire Apr 18 2009, 01:25 PM|
|Nice! Things are really shaping up to the right direction More of these renders will be appreciated.|
|Posted by: Cappe Apr 18 2009, 05:34 PM|
| Awesome work with Suomi SMG and Pystykorva rifle!
Those guns are looking like real weapons.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 18 2009, 09:24 PM|
| I actually have both of them as real deal (well deactivated). Luckily its very easy to copy on other weapons in mod.
Only real shame is that my computer doesn't have enough kick to have full settings in ArmA so I could enjoy them or show them in fullest at ingame.
|Posted by: h- Apr 18 2009, 09:30 PM|
|That reminded me suddenly; years, years, years and years ago I could have gotten disabled Maxim for pretty cheap price from the local gunsmith (yes, here in the countryside we really still have a few of those ) but I wasn't 'on the map' enough to realise how valuable such a purchase might have been|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 18 2009, 09:49 PM|
|(Soviet/Finnish) Maxims seems to range from 800-2500 euros depending does it have base and is Sokolov or finnish made. For WW1 Maxims I wager that price is even more, haven't really come across one yet.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 20 2009, 08:44 PM|
| Last of ready weapons with their upgrades.
AVS-36 Simonov (sorry for quality, had to scale from original)
Both Mosin Nagants
Left to do: pistols, M/28-30 and SVT-38, might take a quite a while, have a lot of other and more important stuff to do.
|Posted by: Erasmus Apr 21 2009, 03:51 AM|
| Fantastic job, once again
I assume we're going to see Lahti-Saloranta, L26 soon too
But I have to say that I love those textures! Well done!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 21 2009, 08:05 AM|
| Yes you are going to see M/26 Lahti-Saloranta, just forgot to list it there
Might take a while before it gets posted thou, I need to check how good our OFP era model is and then remake textures for it. Not top on current priority list.
|Posted by: Cappe Apr 24 2009, 09:13 AM|
| Nice weapons!
Cant wait WIP of the Lahti-Saloranta.
I just readed about AVS-36 they used most of AVS-36's against Finland..
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 24 2009, 10:37 AM|
|Might take a moment. First I have to finish up with satmap and heightmap, so Ozgu can get started (has taken way too long from me). Then I need to do few things regarding map and finally then I can get back to infantry and their weapons.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 27 2009, 07:41 AM|
| Here is small update.
Upgrades on Mosin Nagants, PU scope and bayonet.
Models are done obiviously, but still needs UV and textures. Also I expect that I able to post preview on whole satmap today evening, so keep your eyes peeled.
|Posted by: Erasmus Apr 27 2009, 10:50 AM|
|Nice! Are you going to script bayonets for useable|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 27 2009, 11:16 AM|
| Depends a bit. We have a lot to do, especially h-.
Also this would require animation for close combat and it would also mean that we would have to do knife animation. So it is quite a question do we do it or not.
Especially when you concider melee value in ArmA, very little use for it. As it is we need to prioritize our project and it is defined by value it has in all and all for mod, this one falls really low on it.
|Posted by: SRK Apr 27 2009, 01:04 PM|
|Hope the melee thing works out, there occured some melee fights during the Winter War.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Apr 27 2009, 01:22 PM|
Depends how you define "some", because on WW2 comparison it was a lot.
However ArmA doesn't support so well melee, its quite rare thing ingame.
|Posted by: SRK May 4 2009, 06:59 PM|
|What are you currently working on?|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt May 4 2009, 08:22 PM|
|Currently just finishing up with my part on map. Tomorrow Ozgu is able to get it in Visitor and his part on all of this starts. I need to finish up with punch of objects for him after that. Unfortunantly not much to show, maybe I can take some time to post few ingame screenies soon or maybe some non-published WIPs.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt May 5 2009, 08:23 PM|
| I actually found something that is done and I haven't shown yet.
Finnish greatcoat soldiers (do ignore that "puukko" its from OFP era and is subject of change)
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt May 6 2009, 08:23 AM|
| Quick (10 mins worth) staged combat photo that I took last evening-nightish. Nothing special really, but still teasing is fun
|Posted by: Cappe May 6 2009, 12:52 PM|
| Nice screenshots!
Good to hear about progress of the island.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt May 7 2009, 06:49 AM|
| Well it is still in quite early stage, we have just got it to Visitor stage and there whole work actually starts from. I need to make roads still and edit certain trees (and add few special trees). So far I have only managed to map which trees are which, how common they are and where you find them, so that we wont have non-exsisting trees around there
I still try to find some time to get ingame movie for you at some point. Might take a while though, a lot to do and so little time
|Posted by: SRK May 7 2009, 12:34 PM|
|Have you ever been in taipale in real?|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt May 7 2009, 12:38 PM|
|Unfortunantly not, its pretty unaccessable now days as I understand it. However I do hope to make my tour there at some day.|
|Posted by: Erasmus May 15 2009, 08:22 AM|
|I'm asking shortly: What's up?|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt May 15 2009, 10:24 AM|
| Lets see stomach flu, trees, roads, problems with height map, planning houses and researching. Dreaming of making M/36 and M/27 uniform...
Very little to show, unless you want to see BIS trees and modified trees.
I however do have one idea for screenshot or two, just need to find time to make them
I could still show some WIP models (not textured), such as 81mm and 50mm mortars and 76 K 02. Maybe Komsomolets and Maxim (Sokolov) too.
There is quite a bunch of stuff on WIP stage that I haven't finished yet, because I am only modeller and texturer of this mod I have to priorize to needs of other members. For example h- needs tanks for his molotov script (+other stuff to other scripts that are top secret ), but Ozgu needs trees, roads and houses (+other objects) and we need to get our island done, so I put soldiers and tanks aside and make trees and fences.
Unfortunantly that is not very high on showcase profile...
However I try to get around to post some unseen WIP pictures shortly
For meanwhile, here is WIP of Maxim with Sokolov mount
EDIT: Not really in direct releation, but its kind of feature. In FWW2 all soldiers are right eyed (which 90% of right handed persons are) instead of BIS left eyed view. Difference is quite notable as seen in this picture.
I do think there is somewhere a mod (or is it patched up by BIS, haven't used retail troops in long time) that fixes this for BIS soldiers too.
|Posted by: Cappe May 17 2009, 07:24 AM|
Is that thing moveable so i can stole it from enemy?
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt May 17 2009, 04:12 PM|
| We plan to include crew served weapons script, which makes pretty much every static weapon movable by its crew. With exception of artillery.
Sokolov propably will have SLX dragging animation.

Sorry for bad quality, my computer is not really up to this kind tasks. About picture, been brewing idea of this one quite a while and finally took time to make it. Hope you like it and if you have ideas for screenshots, dont hesitate to tell about them.
|Posted by: peteliuz May 21 2009, 11:27 AM|
Nice to see that progress in going-on with the mod.
Those poor russian soldiers running in the woods don't know what they will encounter soon: "white death".
|Posted by: $pitfire May 21 2009, 11:41 AM|
|Holy shit The progress you've made is amazing. About the screenshots you have taken, imo there is nothing to make them look better, as they look professional enough already.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt May 22 2009, 07:14 AM|
Hi, peteliuz. I wanted to contact you anyway, I'll be e-mailing you soonish.
Quite, pipemine tends to wipeout better part of platoon in close formation.
Not really, everything you see there is pretty old stuff and most certainly revealed to public. However we are futher than with OFP we ever were, at least if measured with soldier (also weapons I think) models.
I try to post something again shortly, but I have to vanish for 2 weeks in beginning of next week, so nothing from me to show. Maybe h- or Ozgu is posting something.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt May 22 2009, 08:41 AM|
| I post this update for h-:
He managed to get our OT-130 spew some fire out of its mouth. Quite leathal at close range and extremely vulnerable in long range, shame that Finns didn't have all too many AT-guns at the time
|Posted by: SRK May 22 2009, 10:07 AM|
|At last, flame throwing tanks, great stuff.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt May 22 2009, 11:25 AM|
|Well it was always intention to bring flamethrower tank when we decided to make more than two variants of T-26. It just took a while to get this far, mostly due problem with Molotov script.|
|Posted by: Erasmus May 22 2009, 12:16 PM|
| Heh, that OT-130 minds me a movie of TALVISOTA. That scene where it appears to Terenttilä and gets "logged" and "molotoved" after flaming a soldier.
Nice to see you're bringing that flamer to this mod! Good work!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt May 23 2009, 10:06 PM|
| Small update, this time about initial custom WIP trees in mod.
Now its time for mystery picture, who can tell what this is?
Original model Hara_Kiri and some updates by me.
|Posted by: Cappe May 24 2009, 06:46 AM|
| Nice screenshots!
Is that tank Finnish/Soviet version of the British Vickers?
|Posted by: SRK May 24 2009, 03:07 PM|
|Don't know, not a tank expert, looks russian to me. And by the way, why dont you just reveal the tank right away?|
|Posted by: Erasmus May 24 2009, 04:22 PM|
| I agree with Cappe. That is an british made 6-ton Vickers right?
Shrapnelled trees! Cool
I know this question is not necessary, because I know there's LOTS of work to do. But can you give us little clue when this mod approximately will be released please?
|Posted by: SRK May 24 2009, 05:01 PM|
| According to this picture the turret doesn't look the same as that tank model VonR posted.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt May 24 2009, 06:32 PM|
|Its Vickers 6-ton and yes gun shield is too small for turret, its fixed already (noticed it while posted pictures). Thank you for pointing out|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt May 25 2009, 07:17 AM|
| First snow of winter 1939
This would look so much better again on somebody else computer than mine. I run ArmA on low settings and texture details on medium, my junk cant push really more than that
|Posted by: SRK May 25 2009, 01:28 PM|
|yeah, cant wait how it will look on my computer|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt May 25 2009, 02:04 PM|
|I will handing everything new down to h- and Ozgu, you have to beg them to take screenshots for you while I am away. Since both of them actually have high end computers you should see some difference compared to my pictures.|
|Posted by: peteliuz May 27 2009, 03:59 PM|
Definitely not bad screenshot from a "junk" system
Again, I can see I succeeded with the textures and I long to see new tank-screenshots. And it is nice to see finally a "solid" oldschool-fence and not a bunch of flat bitmap "sticks".
VonR, you said before that you would email to me, but I haven't got any email from you yet.

| Good picture! Poor soldiers Flamethrower is a hell machine.
I can't even imagine, how MUCH you have scripten for that. Well done guys!
|Posted by: h- May 28 2009, 04:24 PM|
Well, not.. For the life of me I just can't "stage" shots like VonR (as in I just can be arsed to micromanage the AI)..
But thanks anyway!
Actually it was more of problem solving than scripting since most of the stuff was already done with the molotov crap..
Really the only thing bugging me is that the particle stuff looks horrible...
|Posted by: Erasmus May 28 2009, 08:17 PM|
| Well, my opinion is that those pictures are looking beautiful for me!
Hopefully we won't ever see my pictures taken from ArmA (or anything else ) More these pictures please!!!
More like problem solving than scripting? That tells you're hell of a good scripter
How about island progress? Taipale and Summa are coming, right? When we're going to see some WIP-pics from 'em? THANKS!
|Posted by: h- May 28 2009, 09:11 PM|
Well, when we release this thing you will see that I'm not a good scripter
That's for Ozgu and VonR to post about..
|Posted by: Cappe May 29 2009, 08:52 AM|
| Nice screenshots
but i think the real flames dont go that straight.
I'm not any "flame expert" anyway...
|Posted by: h- May 30 2009, 10:07 AM|
It's the angle of those two pics that make it look like it goes straight, it does arc down.
|Posted by: h- Jun 2 2009, 01:57 PM|

| Nice screenshots and soldiers(weapons and tanks too).
One question: will this mod move to ARMA2 or does it stay with original ArmA?
|Posted by: h- Jun 3 2009, 01:21 PM|
|Most likely we will release this for ArmA first.|
|Posted by: SRK Jun 4 2009, 06:35 PM|
| Will every russian have facial hair?-Just kidding, but I have heard that in the russian/soviet army facial hair was forbidden.
And btw the finnish faces are not taken from the original arma?
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jun 9 2009, 01:23 PM|
| All faces in every picture so far uses standard ArmA faces.
Not sure about facial hair, might be very possible, but was it attented at front? Most certainly not when it was sub-zero temperatures. Soviets lacked tents completely in Winter war, with exceptions on medical, HQ and field kitchen.
We release to ArmA 1 and then maybe move to ArmA 2
|Posted by: Erasmus Jun 9 2009, 10:47 PM|
| Any chance to see ingame video of FWW2? I remember there was an discussion about it couple of months ago. It would be nice to see some action in video too
Yes, there was an video showing molotov coctails against tanks, but could you please made at least one more video before releasing!
|Posted by: SRK Jun 10 2009, 10:48 AM|
|Well, maybe the russians were dumb enough to shave their beards at that point, regardless of the situation.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jun 10 2009, 11:21 AM|
| There will be shaved faces too, dont worry
Not by my actions at least, when I start recording my FPS drops to 9, video is ok to watch, but voices are horrible... H- might be merciful enough to post something.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jun 11 2009, 10:43 AM|
| Ok since I had while time to think new promo screens whilst I was away. I have three new screenies for you (which I made in record time of 40 mins), just because I am so nice
Soviet artillery delivers their christmas greetings
Featuring some of our shelled trees (which are still early WIP)
Its going to get really warm soon
Here is again how lazy I am at staging screenshots, just one OT-130 and nobody else what-so-ever attacking? Sheesh...
Soviets used their tanks as mobile support artillery to cover infantry assaults. This method wasn't very effective and armored involvement became more obivious, which resulted huge casualties amongst tankists. Later in war tank tactics changed drastically. Of course that officer just happened to look at my direction when I took that screenshot...
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jun 11 2009, 05:55 PM|
| Any ideas what this is (tracks are placeholders)?
Its supposed to pull this thingy around (its still as it was in OFP, made by Skramble, need to make some modifications on it and detail updating).
EDIT: First one who guesses what the f**k this is, I award him with PM'd screenshot.

Heinäseipäitä? Damn it! I really don't know. If that has something to do with farmers, then I think I've missed something. I'm Karelian but, eh? WHAT A F**K IS THAT THING?! Great, now it really bothers me
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jun 12 2009, 11:29 AM|
Nope, but I guess it can be used to that too.
True, as well as artillery. It is a prime mover, just to say it as hint.
Neither one, its releated to farming and has very strange name which translation gave me real headache. So I guess its ok that you have some mind bender with it too.
|Posted by: SRK Jun 12 2009, 06:02 PM|
| Nobody will know what the logs are for, so you gonna have to show everyone that screenshot.
That prime mover is an A-20 Komsomolets.(edited)
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jun 12 2009, 08:32 PM|
|Nah, nobody has even guessed what that prime mover is. I wait for more educated guesses.|
|Posted by: Cappe Jun 13 2009, 07:46 AM|
| That is very hard!
Can you give the picture to all of us?
Is that mover T-20?
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jun 13 2009, 10:22 AM|
| That mover is indeed T-26 Komsomolets.
And the other thing is "ruiskuhilaat" a thing that was used in fields to pre-dry rye before it was moved to "riihi"
I guess I can post something that I had for a while, but hasn't been published. Pretty old stuff by now thou, but still in use however.
Molotov Cocktail (yes its not very pretty)
Our original soldier model (by me), before we decided to adapt BIS MLODs

Short of an model and WIP texture, nope. Its still a good question how we do it in mod. No matter how its going to be there is bound to be some problems.

| Hello FWW2! How's the progress? Anything new to tell or show for us?
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jun 28 2009, 08:37 PM|
|A lot of progress in fact. Some that we hope to show soon, but currently my part has been filling gaps on old stuff. Cool stuff is happening on h- side atm. We try to show something to you soon, be patient.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jun 29 2009, 05:42 PM|
| Prelude to one of mods features that will be previewed shortly at soonish.
These pictures are only for this forum and are not to be posted outside these forums.
Give me fair guesses what is it about?
|Posted by: Erasmus Jun 29 2009, 07:11 PM|
| I had problem to translate word tulenjohto, but that is "artillery fire guidancing". Am I right?
Thanks for these pics by the way!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jun 29 2009, 08:40 PM|
| In english is used term FO (=Foward Observers), but we are not quite there yet. It will be one of mod features, but currently this is just trigger based actual artillery behaviour by sa8gecko and h-.
There is artillery battalion consisting of three batteries (those guns actually exist in map and in game) that fires requested type of fire pattern to defined target. Barrage types and methods are based on actual artillery methods and salvos at Winter war. Tulenjohto will be implimented, it wont be real deal that was in war (its just too complicated to us and player). However we do try to make usable and good FO-artillery system as possible.
Yet I can say one thing: I don't know any game or mod that would have more realistic artillery behaviour on terms of patterns and salvos. Not to meantion as beautiful as this one. Wasted couple days just admiring and fooling around with it. Its just so captivating, well you see then somewhen
P.S If there is anybody around here who has served as artillerist in FDF we would like to ask few questions from you, so please do contact.

| Time for a small update. T-20 Komsomolets model and textures are done (well detailed specular is still WIP). Yet another step closer to release
|Posted by: WW2mod Jul 4 2009, 11:47 AM|
|Cool Tank! Can not wait to drive that Tank!|
|Posted by: Erasmus Jul 4 2009, 02:02 PM|
|I've said this many times but, once again: GREAT JOB! And like mr. Von R. said, we are closer to release date|
|Posted by: SRK Jul 6 2009, 05:09 PM|
| Just noticed that you haven't told us what those logs are for that you posted last month
sry for not noticing that (Edited)
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 6 2009, 08:15 PM|
Sure I did
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 9 2009, 07:23 AM|
| Well this isn't exactly what I planned, but it appears that mod has its first boat...
Slight glitch somewhere with that, obiviously its not meant to behave like that in water
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 12 2009, 09:03 PM|
| Time for yet another quiz, what is this?
No cookies attached on this mystery.
|Posted by: WW2mod Jul 13 2009, 09:08 AM|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 13 2009, 09:48 AM|
|How did you come to that conclusion? Finns didn't get their hands on STG44's, besides as name points that it is from 1944 and at the moment we concentrate on 1939-1940. So you're 4 years off with that guess|
|Posted by: WW2mod Jul 13 2009, 12:35 PM|
| A Finland weapon.I have not got an Idea. Not a german or an Austrian Weapon.Fallschirmjäger Gewehr 42(FG42),no!A Finland weapon.
PPsh 43.But it is a Russian weapon.
|Posted by: h- Jul 13 2009, 02:47 PM|
| Here's a crappy video for you showing the AP and AT mines in-game
(aaand they're still WIP, as usual..)
|Posted by: Cappe Jul 13 2009, 03:27 PM|
|Is that Lahti-Saloranta LMG?|
|Posted by: WW2mod Jul 13 2009, 03:38 PM|
|Well done -h!Can not wait to play!|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 13 2009, 07:55 PM|
That would be correct. I hope to show soon whole model (just as I finish few small things), then I need to concentrate to get something quickly ingame for important test.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 13 2009, 09:52 PM|
| Ok as promised whole gun picture of http://www.jaegerplatoon.net/LMG1.htm. Angle really isn't the best sharp faces tend to hide, I post tomorrow perspective picture of it.
Also preview picture of T-20 Komsomolets prime mover
|Posted by: Marko112 Jul 14 2009, 08:00 AM|
|Looking very promising Von Rundstedt! Keep up the great work|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 14 2009, 08:51 AM|
| Welcome to the forums, its always nice to see new face around here
Glad you like our work, we do best we can and as fast as we can.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 14 2009, 08:50 PM|
| As promised better picture of M/26 Lahti-Saloranta LMG in perspective angle.
|Posted by: WW2mod Jul 15 2009, 09:39 AM|
|It is a machine gun , right? But i do not think that machin gun can a little group with an magazin extinguish. And the M/26 Lahti-Saloranta LMG has not got a catena with Patrons.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 15 2009, 01:23 PM|
|Its light machinegun (like DP-27, MG34, BAR etc.), its meant to be support weapon for infantry squad (platoon has 4x squads of which two squads has Lahti-Saloranta LMG and other two has Suomi SMGs). Clip has few rounds concidering that it is LMG, but lmg squad usually carried quite a few spare magazines. Also unusualy for LMGs M/26 was able to shoot single rounds as well as full fire.|
|Posted by: WW2mod Jul 18 2009, 09:01 AM|
| Browning Automatic Rifle. My lovest gun in ww2!^^
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 28 2009, 01:47 PM|
| Ok this one is done
I managed to finish it in record time, maybe I am actually getting good at this
|Posted by: Cappe Jul 28 2009, 04:13 PM|
|Nice work with the Lahti-Saloranta!|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 28 2009, 06:12 PM|
|Somehow it feels that those screws in grip are too big... Otherwise it seemed to come pretty well, even thou I haven't had chance to test it yet ingame.|
|Posted by: steelexia Jul 28 2009, 08:30 PM|
|Would the screws hurt my hand if I hold on to it too tightly?|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 29 2009, 11:06 AM|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 29 2009, 04:41 PM|
| Not all too bad. I managed to finish three weapons in 2 days (not like last two were huge projects)
Mosin Nagants accesories
|Posted by: WW2mod Jul 29 2009, 07:41 PM|
|I will play the Addon now. When is the Addon finished???!!!|
|Posted by: SRK Jul 29 2009, 08:02 PM|
|Posted by: WW2mod Jul 29 2009, 08:50 PM|
|Hmmmmm.I can not wait.seriously|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 30 2009, 07:33 AM|
|It is going to take quite a while before we can release. We are not anywhere near to our release goals.|
|Posted by: WW2mod Jul 31 2009, 08:29 PM|
|Can you make some videos from that addon?Weapon Report?|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Jul 31 2009, 10:09 PM|
| We have showed the best we can of weapons we have. Making low quality video clip doesn't really stand chance against prime quality screenshots. Only thing you would see there is bolt working and scopes crosshair. So here you go, those "effects", nothing all too special in them thou.
|Posted by: steelexia Aug 2 2009, 07:14 PM|
| Heh, today is the first time I bring news to this topic, with one of the most important Finland fighter during the Winter War era, the Fokker D.XXI.
I am quite new to this plane myself as well, so I have no idea how exactly it performs.. However, seeing the statistics it seems like quite a pleasant aircraft to fly in.
Above was copied from http://www.ww2wings.com/wings/finland/finlandmain.shtml
With my limited skills, Von Rundstedt will be doing the textures. Also, he had put a lot of hard work into fixing my model as well.
|Posted by: WW2mod Aug 3 2009, 07:15 AM|
|nearly how "Stuka"|
|Posted by: steelexia Aug 3 2009, 03:18 PM|
|Stuka's got quite a blocky shape while the fokker is rounded everywhere though. The wheels sure are similar at least.|
|Posted by: peteliuz Aug 4 2009, 11:59 AM|
|Amazing work with the Fokker model! Can't wait to see with textures, Finnish decals etc.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Aug 4 2009, 02:09 PM|
|Currently trying to make that request reality, might take a moment thou.|
|Posted by: peteliuz Aug 4 2009, 05:04 PM|
|Posted by: peteliuz Aug 4 2009, 05:10 PM|
Blocky? -> http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiedosto:StukaRA.jpg
Ju 87 seems to be quite rounded too. I think the "fatness" of Fokker makes it look more rounded than Ju 87. Ju 87 looks more "athletic and "sporty"
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Aug 4 2009, 05:53 PM|
| Avoid double posting peteliuz there is edit button for that
Well, it is more of a statement
|Posted by: peteliuz Aug 6 2009, 07:27 PM|
I don't understand now. If you mean my question above, for me it is not double-posting, but separate question.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Aug 6 2009, 08:07 PM|
| Just meant your wish to see Fokker textured, but apparently you will be doing that part so not much need for me to make it real (besides UV-map).
Time between your posts was 6 minutes, you could have easily edited previous post to include your question in it. Not that it matters gravely when we keep eye on amount of replies posted here. But once you let somebody do that others will think that they can do it too.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Aug 7 2009, 03:16 PM|
| Now this is something that is very very early WIP and might or might not be included in release. Also note that this is first run and nose seems to be pooed already.
Thoughts, comments? Leave it out or include?
|Posted by: peteliuz Aug 8 2009, 07:33 PM|
Well, that sounds kind of a "nitpicking". Even this is not a matter of "life and death" I think that isn't so friendly treating for a member who has been retired for a long time and is back now.
I am sorry to say this, but I don't feel like welcomed here because of such a "nitpicking".
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Aug 8 2009, 11:14 PM|
| I am sorry to nitpick and it is nothing against you or anybody else. Certainly no intention to make you feel less welcomed, infact I couldn't be happier to see you around here and that you want to take your place in mod again.
I still feel it is my oblication as admin to see that general forum guidelines are followed by every member. I have no intention to make anybody feel bad.
However if you want to discuss about it, I would rather take it to PMs so that this topic wont go OT.
|Posted by: SRK Aug 9 2009, 11:22 AM|
|Cut down the drama plz|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Aug 9 2009, 08:44 PM|
| Back to topic. I have finished 1st LOD of tank crew, including of course various oil stains in uniform. I know it is not the prettiest in world, but it has to do.
|Posted by: Cappe Aug 10 2009, 08:07 AM|
| Nice work with the soldiers and planes!
Cant wait to dogfight and burn tanks and tankcrews with molotov.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Aug 11 2009, 07:39 AM|
| Last orders before attack
Those crew members on left don't seem all too happy Propably hoping it wont be the last orders.
|Posted by: steelexia Aug 11 2009, 05:21 PM|
|Hey I've been wondering this the whole time.. how do you pose those people??|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Aug 12 2009, 12:20 PM|
|By forcing vanilla or 3rd party animations on them, with switchmove command.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Aug 14 2009, 07:26 AM|
| Another preview at progress with faces, now with comparison to normal ArmA face.
Comments, suggestions and ideas would be very welcomed.
|Posted by: steelexia Aug 18 2009, 10:14 PM|
| Here the BT-7 1937 version rolls out of the factory. It's my first attempt modeling a tank so it did take some time to get it fully optimized.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Aug 20 2009, 08:20 AM|
| First ingame test with new faces, looks better than I had hoped for.
|Posted by: Erasmus Aug 23 2009, 02:06 PM|
| Looks good as always
How close we are now at release date?
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Aug 23 2009, 03:45 PM|
| Good to see you around here, has been a long time since last time.
We are closer to release date than last time you had chance to visit here. In fact we have been able to make huge steps on modelling, thanks to steelexia.
|Posted by: Erasmus Aug 23 2009, 06:55 PM|
| Sounds nice! Release of this package will be so COOL!!! Yeah, I've been spending time with my friends and couple of beer. I think it's because of army: Short vacancies, let's skip computer this time But after these news, I'm ready to spend some time with my toaster!
Basic training is almost over! Leopard 2 course will start at next month and I'm proud of being tanker soon Altough I'll survive all those complicated construction tests...
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Aug 23 2009, 07:10 PM|
Might take a while still before we are there though
Of course you will. I quote my AUK instructor: "We could even train monkeys to do this, but we have neither resources or bananas for that so you'll have to do." Nothing special there, everything can be learned if you really want to
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 1 2009, 08:58 AM|
| Now that I have kept silent from public forums for long enough I think it would be nice to have something new to show.
So I decided to finish up Steelexias Fokker D.XXI
Still not ingame, but that shouldn't take all too long.
Quick trivia question: can somebody spot what is wrong on first screenshot?
|Posted by: steelexia Sep 1 2009, 02:38 PM|
|The pilot's goggles aren't transparent and he probably can't see a thing?|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 1 2009, 08:05 PM|
| Of course he can't see, but thats why FAF is consisted only of Jedi
I used BIS camel pilot hat for our pilot and haven't bothered to extract proper textures and material for it yet, but it would look like this ingame:
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 2 2009, 09:10 AM|
| I took my bird for a fly today...
|Posted by: Lagus Sep 2 2009, 09:13 PM|
swastika seems to be mirror image?
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 2 2009, 09:26 PM|
| That is correct, been around so long that you spot our mistakes outright?
With that guess you won 2xWIP damage texture screenshots.
|Posted by: Lagus Sep 3 2009, 07:20 AM|
Yes! And thanks for the pics, absolutely great looking!
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 3 2009, 07:45 AM|
| I never liked ArmA vanilla damage textures, more fan of IL-2: FB style. Unfortunantly ArmA restricts on use of certain things (meaning transparency didn't work as I hoped), but I think I managed to get pretty decent replacement.
One can always dream...
Not that the original one looks all too horrible, which can be found from http://fww2.org/kuvaa/shotdown_orig.jpg.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 7 2009, 04:17 PM|
| Just couple pics taken from stress test (or LOD test) earlier today.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 11 2009, 08:33 AM|
| Just to keep people actually visiting our forums here is small preview on soviet wounds. Sorry that there hasn't been anything all too big lately, we have been working on small but important things lately. However h- has something big coming, but it still isn't in stage that we can show something.
As you can see in this picture, there is still a lot model weighting that needs to be done (aint all too easy since most of anims are working perfectly).
|Posted by: SRK Sep 11 2009, 04:07 PM|
|You can never get enought with seeing dead invaders, btw they got grey hands|
|Posted by: h- Sep 11 2009, 05:32 PM|
"Now how did that get there...."
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 11 2009, 06:07 PM|
Some have grey, others (green)brown and black. Those would be gloves, cheap solution to cover hands and much better than bare skin.
Some even have holes in their grey hands
I try to see if I have enough time to make some mittens too.
EDIT: h- did you update your files with my latest? Seems that wing has wrong texture.
|Posted by: h- Sep 12 2009, 02:09 PM|
Whatcha talkin' about..
Nah, it was an old pic, replaced with newer one now..
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 15 2009, 08:40 AM|
| Yet another update to our silent friends
76 K 02 light field cannon, this will serve both Finnish and Soviet armies.
Initial model by Skramble and refitting to ArmA by me.
Original pictures of OFP version: http://fww2.org/kuvaa/76ofpf.jpg, http://fww2.org/kuvaa/76ofpb.jpg
|Posted by: SRK Sep 15 2009, 04:53 PM|
Might be that the mod followers are tired of saying the same old = good job stuff. Sometimes the forums might be less active.
Trust me i think your makin great progress, and keep up with it.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 15 2009, 05:32 PM|
|So we should post something that is utterly horrible just to stir some attention?|
|Posted by: SRK Sep 16 2009, 02:44 PM|
| If that is what you want, be my guest. Post somethin irrelevant, or somethin inpropriet.
See what happens. (yeah, promoted to AliKersantti)
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 27 2009, 02:15 PM|
| Update time again, has been a while since I actually showed something done around here.
Few new screenshots of BT-5 model 1934. Model by Steelexia and textures by me. Give me some feedback about the new screenshot frame effect, wanted to try something different than blunt screenshot.
Original pictures can be found at these links: http://fww2.org/kuvat/fww2_armashot_20o.jpg, http://fww2.org/kuvat/fww2_armashot_21o.jpg

| Nice work!
What about some black and white pictures?
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 27 2009, 03:05 PM|
| Something like this?
|Posted by: Cappe Sep 27 2009, 05:11 PM|
They look like the real ones.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 27 2009, 07:56 PM|
|It actually looks better than the normal. Maybe we should do this mod in black and white|
|Posted by: peteliuz Sep 28 2009, 04:43 PM|
Yes, that would be cool with high contrast lightning to make it look more dramatic like filmatization of Väinö Linna's Unknown soldier or something like that
Have a look with this one -> http://kuvat2.iltasanomat.fi/iltasanomat/iGallup/61773-aketuntematon.jpg
EDIT: Hi chaverim! (=friends in Hebrew)
How about this one regarding old photo look.
EDIT2: Yeah, image is too white to be an old photo when it is about the color tones. In fact, I made the image with the right yellowish-brownish "old photo" color tone, but forgot to add it here. So, here it is:
Please, remember to refresh the page to show up the new version.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Sep 29 2009, 05:24 AM|
|Lets see I can try to do something similiar to that soonish.|
|Posted by: Erasmus Oct 3 2009, 08:11 AM|
| Absolutely fantastic work this far! Those action pictures really are something that makes me hope this is out soon.
Have you guys any ideas when this possibly will be released?
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Oct 3 2009, 11:35 AM|
|We're moving up at pretty fast speed, but there is still considerable amount of stuff to do. We can't give estimate on release, when we're on beta then maybe.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Oct 6 2009, 12:16 PM|
| I actually got something done again, which I kind of surprising since I have about 4-5 projects on at the moment
M/1895 Nagant pistol, most common soviet sidearm during whole WW2.
|Posted by: Ferder Oct 6 2009, 01:38 PM|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Oct 10 2009, 09:04 AM|
|I would actually have one video with ingame footage, but I never posted it due the horrible quality (especially voice). However I could post it here in mods public forum incase somebody wants to see how mod looks?|
|Posted by: SRK Oct 10 2009, 08:36 PM|
|Sure, fine for me, i would actually want to see how the mod ''looks''.|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Oct 15 2009, 04:35 PM|
| Sorry for long delay, but been extremely busy with RL lately.
Here it is, quality is horrid and I suggest you turn speakers down, because it is very loud for some reason.
It is some basic skirmish, nothing really special there. Reloading sounds are also quite bad and too long or maybe reloading time is too short for respective weapons, this as many sound related things are to be changed still.
I uploaded the file in rapidshare to spare our own badwidth, it can be downloaded only 10 times a day so if you can't get it try it again next day. Its not like you miss anything grand.
Don't post this anywhere outside of this forum!
PS. SRK here is the utterly horrible thing that you asked, lets see how people react
|Posted by: SRK Oct 16 2009, 03:47 PM|
| To be honest i think this mod looks very good allthough it's not done yet.
Lets face it VonR, you can't do anything ''badly'' in this project, like it or not.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Oct 16 2009, 07:42 PM|
I could, but it would be too much work at this point
|Posted by: SRK Oct 28 2009, 12:25 PM|
|How's the current situation?|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Oct 28 2009, 03:21 PM|
| Our situation is very leafless...
Scripts are coming along very well considering problems they face, modelling has been bit silent lately. I have been entangled with necessarily evil stuff such as trees, however I should be soon done with them.
It has gotten quite silent around public side again, so we tend to forget you people sometimes.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Nov 1 2009, 09:25 PM|
| Ok folks.
Your input is welcomed in this one.
We have possible snow camo version (which wont be applied to old tanks) for tanks, but we're not sure do we use it. So please give as much input as possible. Note that this is just a quick test and does not represent final quality.
Basically you can see new camo texture on BT's hull and old in turret, so give us your opinion.
|Posted by: h- Nov 2 2009, 06:10 AM|
That's quite cool actually.
Now it looks pretty real..
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Nov 4 2009, 09:10 AM|
| Good to see that you posted it up, peteliuz. It still looks good
No input what so ever on camo pattern from anybody? Gee, c'mon people!
|Posted by: SRK Nov 4 2009, 12:20 PM|
| It amost starts to feel like there are only 3 of us active in the forums.
About that camo on the tank............... it's quite obious what people here would reply.
Anyway, i do quick visits in this forum daily too see any news. Too be honest i haven't played ARMA in a very long time, you know as this mods gets released i have a reason to start again.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Nov 4 2009, 03:43 PM|
| Actually more I look at the pattern more I start to hate how it looks
I never really did play ArmA, not to mention ArmA2
I pretty much only test our stuff and fool around with them. However I have played enough ArmA2 to make this conclusion: It is "can-somebody-please-shoot-me"-funny sometimes. I have never seen anything like this in ArmA or in OFP.
I will be posting soon something new to see.
|Posted by: Lagus Nov 5 2009, 09:59 AM|
OK, ok, coming...
Here: NEW, definitely the new pattern.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Nov 5 2009, 04:07 PM|
| Then I suppose I have to put it on turret too, oh well shouldn't be huge project.
Anyway I promised something new, so here you go:
Suojeluskunta soldier (Civil Guard) with M/27 service uniform. Paramilitary troop that was merged with Army in order to bring already equipped and well trained soldiers to bolster the defence. Civil Guards played important role in Winter War from front line to home front. Unlike many paramilitary troops they were, in many occasions, better armed and equipped than regular reservists.
This uniform was outdated by war, but since there wasn't enough uniforms for whole reserve M/27 uniform was common amongst the Civil Guard.
Whoops he has wrong boots, but you will ignore that, right?
|Posted by: SRK Nov 5 2009, 06:18 PM|
| sure, but about that tank, shouldn't the whole tank be covered in white?
well, maybe not 100% but so that you can see that it has been worked on with camouflage.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Nov 5 2009, 07:33 PM|
| It is rather strange that Soviets didn't paint under track guard, but so it is. I have never seen any photo or anything where below track guard something is painted beyond the original, with exception of wheels.
EDIT: Might be that I am not able to make this camo pattern... Some unexpected problems has risen with turret texture regarding this one. So we probably will fall to old pattern.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Nov 7 2009, 11:06 PM|
| Ok new our Civil Guard fellow has more appropriate boots and also changed badge from Mikkeli district to Viipuri.
|Posted by: SRK Nov 8 2009, 07:35 AM|
| You must have done that by purpose, the boots looks terrible compare to the last ones.
And what's with the orange pattern above?
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Nov 8 2009, 05:10 PM|
| Pieksut which upper part is turned downed (normally they go 'til knees), granted wool linen could be browner than that. Normal that era Finnish civilian boots.
Old ones were military issue leather boots.
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Nov 8 2009, 09:41 PM|
|Posted by: Lagus Nov 9 2009, 09:03 AM|
| Oh yes, much better. Not that orange and looks like leather now.
Btw, pieksut definitely should be the chosen one, if there is a question of which boots. Pieksut belongs to Finnish national romance, just like the nose in front of the face. I can almost smell the sauna and midsommer birch here...

|Well at the moment we have two Pieksu types (that and one that is under snowsuit) and military issue boots. Soviets get military issue boots and Valenki boots. These should provide enough variation to feet.|

|When is it finished? How long are we waiting?I do not know but i know it is a really long time.|

| Well actually script part of the mod looks very good at the moment, textures are the big problem at the moment and as I have understood so is the island part.
There is a lot to do still and if somebody thinks they can help, even if it is something as small as UV-mapping make yourself known please.

|Id suggest that you update the homesite (fww2.org) with Info/Projects/News because why have those if there isn't anything written? And you could propably make a list of your current members(different topic), just want to make sure of your entire team.|

| Well there is a problem regarding that, none of current staff members know how to code with PHP, thats why we're looking one freelancer to complete the homepage. Not that there has been much luck on that.
We have ability to add, modify and remove news and thats about it. I would love to have admin tool expanded so we can edit whole homepage through it, but at the moment that is just a dream. I would do this myself and learn PHP, but aint got the time for it.
So if you can aid us on that please raise your hand.
Current members on mod follows:
As you see, we aint many.

| And Ferder, as a freelancer/whatnot at this moment.
But still, not many..

| Something new. We have finished Soviet "toy" mortar 50-PM 38 (it is actually 50-PM 39, but as far as I know there is no real difference by outlook and since model 1938 is more realistic we use it). Sorry for the animation, it ain't the best, but it will do (luckily on other than greatcoat soldiers it looks fine).
PS. Just noticed that guy in front has his gun half buried in snow, oh well he wont be using it in a while

| Pitäny jo kauemman aikaa regata tänne foorumille, mutten oo saanu aikaseksi.
Hyvältä näyttää. Mutta tuossa hahmossa olis jokusen verran parantamisen
varaa.

| It is always nice to see other mod members and/or leaders in these forums. However it would be nice that also they would conduct according forum rules as in this case: "§10) Write in English"
Problem with soldiers generally is that they're from Bohemia Interactives Open Model release. This is due many problems we had with our own proper model and the fact that if you change form of soldier too much (which isn't much) animations skews model beyond description. Belt is rather tight (maybe bit too tight), it is much more visible in model itself than in screenshots, mainly because most of stuff on it hides the slimness. Bodies are rather bulky to make impression of having lots of clothes under uniform, shoulders can't be really helped, it makes animations do funny things to arms.
Thanks for comments and notes, they're greatly appreciated. Its a pity that it is on the field that we can't change much...
Hope you stay around for further comments and when we get that far that we make Continuation war we're sure to ask for Terni, thanks for offer

| Wooo! Screenshot time again for our silent fans. Nothing really special in here, just a test trench is only thing you haven't seen. I try to post tomorrow something actually new to see.
|Posted by: SRK Nov 22 2009, 08:51 AM|
|Is it possible to do trenches without logs?|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Nov 22 2009, 12:02 PM|
|Sure I can do some sort of static trench that doesn't have logs in it. I just need to get mud/snow texture done so it looks actually good, but I don't think it should be a big problem.|

|70 years from today was the day the Winter War started. Now how's the current progress?|
|Posted by: Von Rundstedt Nov 30 2009, 08:33 AM|
| Nice to see that somebody else than I remember that
Currently we don't have anything really done to show, but however we do have some WIP stuff to show.
First some stuff from Steelexia:
Then from me:
Proper Winter War tactical markers preview
First preview on ArmA2 (sorry for horrible quality)
I try to post WIP picture of SVT-38 later today still. Also I have some houses in early texturing phase.
And we dream of an video clip from h-, however he seems to be busy with scripting (and we're going to have some pretty awesome stuff included in that field, in my opinion).
I think generally we're moving forward pretty nicely, even my illness in past two weeks has hampered progress in my part a bit.

| Here are the promised WIP pics of SVT-38, still lot to do in there, but it is shaping up.
Close up on "luistin"
