What did you think of Final Fantasy XIII?

What could they have worked on?

I have the 360 version.

I think the graphics are amazing! That is one of the things I enjoyed most about the game along with the battle system (Including the Crystarium and Upgrading weapons). I also really enjoyed the story line and the characters.

But there are a few things I didn't really like. I was upset there was really no free roaming. No town/city's you got to explore. The game was a straight path. So basically you did what the game wanted you to do, you couldn't really go off and do your own thing.

I also didn't like that you didn't earn gil in battles. It was so hard finding some.

I haven't finished the game. I'm on the eleventh chapter, stuck on Vanille's Eidolon. It's been really stressing me out. When I got the game I played with out the strategy guide all the way up to Vanille's Eidolon. I couldn't seem to beat him, it was really making me mad. So I decided to get the strategy guide and play through what they say, because I was sure I missed a few things just doing it on my own. I restarted the game, a guess what? I'm stuck at Vanille's Eidolon. Wtf? I followed the book and it seems impossible to beat this guy. I even got mad and threw my controller... That never happen. Grrrrr. I'm just about to give up and trade in the game.

I thought FFXIII was nicely done myself, though I can think of 2 things I would change. 1 is the fact that you are stuck with whatever leader you have in battle. What if I find myself wanting to be Lightning at one point in the battle, then Fang in another, I mean, c'mon, Army of One is a kickass move, and Bahamut is a kickass summon.... maybe they should be on the same character even....
the other thing is the battle theme... I don't like how they get to the action part of the song... I find that I don't find myself humming the battle theme every time I get in a battle, like I did in past games in the series.

Ah this game...I haven't really got a lot of good things to say about it. The graphics are awesome and I do like the Crystarium system.

The whole linear thing annoyed me, as you said I find it more fun to do my own exploring. I also have to play with the TV on mute for basically two reason : A) The music and B) Vanille...

Storyline isn't too great either, and what's this? If your leader dies it's Game Over? Outrage! (This could be that I'm not very good at switching Paradigms)

I could go into it more, bottom line, I've stopped playing (Chapter 7 I think?). Not as enjoyable as others in the series, I suppose I'll eventually get to completing it some day.
