Here are some of the awards we give out, how you get them, and who decides that you get them.
for all awards, if they won previously they cannot win consecutively THE ACADEMYLike at the Oscars there are a group of people who
review the films and decide who gets the Oscar. Well, here
at Almost Famous we also have an Academy which is comprised
of members of the staff as well as active members. This way
we make sure our suggestions come from all the member groups.
And no one is looked over. The Academy may actual pick who wins
and/or select suggestions in which people will get to vote. Sort
of like a People's Choice Award. OF THE MOMENT AWARDStotally called the of the moment awards
cause sometimes we just can't get to it every week
these awards are all picked by the Academy
SCRIPT OF THE MOMENT this award is given to an outstanding plot page, aim page, cell phone page, etc. and the person who made it
PROJECT SET OF THE MOMENT this is given to a very cool skin and the person who made it
ART DIRECTION OF THE MOMENT this is given to a graphic that completely blows us away and to the person who made it
PULITZER OF THE MOMENT this is given to the poem, short story, even hand drawn artwork, etc. that has us speechless and the person who made it
POSH PORTFOLIO OF THE MOMENT in a way is sort of like script of the moment because we spot a very well put together portfolio whether from the variety of things or how the layout of your portfolio is either way your portfolio is posh and we want to show it offMONTHLY MEMBER AWARDSBYT stands for BRIGHT YOUNG THING and this is basically the member of Almost Famous whom you members vote as an all around star. Be it that they're uber friendly and help around or even that they're just awesome possum at the thing they do, being them. You vote the nominees, you vote the winner.
"ITSTER" this is the person with the IT fact, the person who may not always get recognition for their craft but the Academy surely sees it. This is the person that you'll want to keep your eye out for.
MONOPOLY AWARD this goes to the person who's gained the most MIL within that month. it wouldn't be fair to give it to the person who has the most overall each month 'cause that could rack up to the same person each time.
MR. STEAK AWARD this is a member who's been the most helpful or friendly around the site. this does not include staff members.
LIGHTING AWARD as you can see we don't really have a lighting department even though it's apart of the movie process. technically in cinematography, but that's another story. in any case this is an award that staff members will be giving within the staff. this is done in the 'roast' sort of way. with very dry humor. because we're like that. in any case, it's given to the staff member or members who's been all around helpful that month.SITE AWARDSsite awards work like so: you submit your site or a site your on as a nomination. nominations are made into a poll and people vote. these sorts of awards will be handed out every TWO weeks or so, but we can get behind.
BLOCKBUSTER AWARD with careful, confusing math calculations, part member count, part posts we figure out who has the most activity on their site.
OUTSTANDING... awards will be given to the winner of each categoryPICTURE site overall, graphics, plot, canon list, originality, etc. for this award an ad will be placed up at the top as long as your site is active
SCREENPLAY aka plot of the site
SET DESIGN aka skin of the site, it either has to be exclusively skinned for the site, or altered
CINEMATOGRAPHY aka site's graphics
CAST aka originality of canon list
ACTOR aka male character
ACTRESS aka female character
SUPPORTING ACTOR/ACTRESS is whomever gets second in the outstanding actor and actress polls GENRE AWARDS this is where people can submit their site and have people vote on their site within their genre. each of the genres' winners will have a link to their site featured on the sidebar. the genres are as follows:
