I'd almost say D.E.M. of sorts, but I'm interested to see where this goes.

Morth being chosen certainly makes sense though. Certainly been persistent.

As for the parallels to Up, I'm personally waiting for the annoying Asian sidekick to show up and bugger things up more.

I'm guessing that a sudden last minute rescue of the boys is coming up, and I'm guessing Jamilla will be leading this rescue.

Either that, or Blasphemy comes in at some random point and eats all the cultists and Daemons.

The Exterminate-Us-Now brigade certainly looks nigh-exterminated.

I'd hope Jamilla comes to the rescue. Would be a nice way for her character to make a comeback, but with a long-overdue of her kicking Morth's ass, this time.

Oh Gods, it's gotten to the point where I read "cronies" and think, "hey, he spelled it wrong".

I need help.

Maybe they should help the Hound out. If they're gonna die, might as well see to it that Morth goes with them. :P

But in all seriousness, I'm interested to see where this goes.

My guess is that they all die, and EN is replaced by a comic that recounts their exploits in the underwold.

Seriously thought, donated, best of luck! Immigration is certainly a beast to bear.

Morth was going to use them to summon Kevin. However, because Virus messed with the ritual, Morth accidentally summoned Cerberus instead. He still summoned a powerful daemon, and thus used up all power of the souls in it.

Kevin has a point, we've all seen the Dark Gods in this Universe, who here can say they "Don't" have a sense of humour?

Ah, so basically they don't exist any more?

Is anyone in this story even going to notice how terrible this is? :P

That begs the question... where do all the souls go when they're used up? Is it like the Elder Scrolls, where they just end up in the equivalent of the Soul Cairn or something? Or are they just... gone now?

Reminds me when I found myself asking the same question when watching Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood with the Philosopher Stones.

Because of that show, in general, I just stopped wondering and asking, "where'd all the souls, go?"

And yes, it is terrible, btw, but no one seemed too concerned with basically the complete and total destruction of human souls, in the show, so I just stopped worrying about it, too.

I'm guessing this kind of thing happens quite a lot, so it isn't as big of a deal. Tragic, yes, but happens so often it sometimes ceases to have meaning. I wouldn't be surprised if cultists in darker circles spread around stories about comedic ways novice (and not-so-novice) summoners accidentally end up with their souls eaten.

Kind of like death IRL. ("Hey, did you hear about the angry Korean wheelchair guy who fell down an elevator shaft?")

Hm, see, if you're an unbeliever like me, that's what death means. And we kill people comically all the time. So I guess, from my perspective, it wasn't any worse than our usual black comedy shenanigans, so I didn't think too much about it. But you're right, in-universe it should be of greater import than that, since an afterlife empirically exists there. Morth mentioned it would be more merciful than prolonged imprisonment, but after that, it got pretty much glossed over.

Just consider this, like Legacy of Kain, like Darksiders, another series where precious human souls are treated like disposable currency and snack food for various demons.

Well yeah, I am an unbeliever too, and agree with all you said. I just tend to take premises seriously when enjoying a work of fiction. It's a flaw of mine, I know. ;)

Which reminds me...
