Here's the rules. Because people abused it last time.

No double posting. In all honesty, have at least a three post gap, otherwise it just gets silly. So, if you don't want me to shut this one, it should go (For example) Eastwood, Lothar, Virus, Silv, Eastwood, and so on.

QUOTE (The Virus @ Nov 11 2007, 10:26 PM)
I'd also suggest that you make some sort of comment. Doesn't have to be a thesis on the socio-political implications of the lyrics and the song's influence on modern society, but just say somethin, eh? Long list of 'song-artist' is boring.

You heard him.

***

Hotel California ~ Alabama 3

They really are rather good, and as covers go it isn't half bad. But the original is my favourite song, ever, so it's a bit hard to measure up.

Creep - Radiohead

In training for Rock Band. Want want want.

The Poet and The Pendulum - Nightwish

Since I was going to post a thread about Nightwish anyway I might as well put my thoughts here.

This song is the first track on Nightwish's new album with the replacement lead singer Anette Olzon instead of Tarja Turunen. Olzon is undoubtedly different from her predecessor but her voice captured my attention the moment I put the CD in the computer. I can't say I prefer one singer over the other but I'm satisfied with the band’s final choice for the new singer.

Erebus (Snake in the Aquillian nest) by...meself.

Yeah I really need to finish that Warhammer 40k concept album and get the vocals on.
I think this was my first one I wrote and I'm pretty proud of it.
Coming up next is Hatredcopter by Dethklok
Apparently the 26thy time I've listened to this song. That's a lie-it's well into the 40's.

"Draggin' The Line" - R.E.M.

My iPod is on random, which I don't usually do because I end up skipping a lot. I think this is a cover and it's a strange song for R.E.M. because it sounds so upbeat, probably because it's about drugs.

I feel fine!
I'm talkin' 'bout peace of mind.
I'm gonna take my time,
I'm gettin' the good sign...
Draggin' The Line.

Objection! - Gyakuten Meets Orchestra (Orchestrated soundtrack to Phoenix Wright)

I've adored the music to Phoenix Wright for a long time, and hearing it orchestrated and arranged in symphonic brilliance is downright inspiring. As well as perfoming music (Grade 8 flutest, if I may *ahem* blow my own trumpet*) I get a kick out of arranging music I like in midi form, partly to develop my sense of perfect pitch but mainly for glory and giggles. And the first midi I felt properly happy with showing to peoples was my arrangement of the 'cross examination' music from the original Phoenix Wright. It's kicking about these forums somewhere for those who like that species of kidney.

Edited for clearly being drunk at the time of writing.

Still Grey - Pendulum

A surprisingly relaxing song to listen to compared to some of the other songs on the Hold Your Colour Album.

I'm -still- listening to Machinae Supremacy (pretty much everything by them, Site Releases, Albums & JnG soundtrack). They've got a new album coming out in early '08, Overworld, which is going to be awesome enough to bore a hole through a million skulls. Go buy stuff.

Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged Musical

This topic is lame, it's such a bore. I'd rather stay home and play card games more and more. If you ask me, this forums a whore, but thats nothing she was like that way before.

The Man Comes Around - Johnny Cash

Love the simple, acoustic guitar, laid back way of presenting the tale of the Apocalypse. Also, it made one of the best choices of intro music ever when it was used for the credits of the remake of "Dawn of the Dead".

Mass Romantic - The New Pornographers

On 99.3 FM The Fox - The Fox Rocks!!!

They played the 90's the whole weekend. I'm starting to understand the feeling my parents get when they hear BTO on the oldies.

O Green World - Gorillaz

Damon Albarn is a musical genius, no two ways around it. I want to listen to the opera he's working on based on the classic 'Journey to the West', the story that 'Monkey' adapted.

Television Television - OKgo

If you've never listened to OKgo past 'Here it Goes Again' (the treadmill vid), then go and borrow it/buy it/download it. Ok Go and Oh No are both brilliant albums, with incredibly catchy stuff on there.

Yeah, I've really been into "melodic speed metal + the Japanese scene" thing lately, can't really explain it...

Oy. If I really really have to pin it down to one song, I take

Black - Wonderful life

My favourite song back when I was ten or twelve years old. The atmosphere of the song still reflects a part of my childhood. Somewhat melancholic, yet enjoyable. Or whatever.

Arnocorps-Last Action hero.
Seriously ballsy music. The manliness is over 9,000. If I could I'd make an AMV using Dawn of War and the Imperial guard to go with this.

Cerberus is as Cerberus Does - Flipron

NOT just another shitty myspace band, I believe they played at glastonbury (if that's your idea of non-shitty?)
Very good lyrically, a bit weird all round in a good way. Go listen.

The Boss theme from Streets of Rage 3.

Well, it says it's the boss theme but it was only used for Onihime & Yasha (Mona & Lisa) and Break (Axel).
I like this theme a lot, and it shows how Yuzo Koshiro was a genius with the Mega Drive's soundchip.
