Love the mere fact that Virus is actually taken in by the toy. XD

It's not a toy! It's a Collector's Item!

Crowley - February 27, 2012 04:41 PM (GMT)
It's usually Eastwood who ends up with the priceless expressions, but Lothar on the last panel just cracked me up.

Awolle - February 27, 2012 07:01 PM (GMT)
I bet the only obscene amount Eastward had to pay was the time to hire the cheapest-available Inquisitor newbee to kill and steal that toy- ahm- collector's toy, from some poor nerd who actually did the effort to get it.

No, East is just a master of filling in his expenses forms.

Does this universe have an equivalent to touring-car racing? Not sure what would compare to the matching 1970 Plymouth Superbirds (one #43, one #40) I use as bookends....

http://images109.fotki.com/v146/photos/4/3....jpg?1299539039 -- closest examples I could find online.

Funny you should post that, I know the guy who took that picture.

This would likely be closer in terms of diecast:

And they get picked up before even getting inside. Don't think anybody predicted that.

So much for the punks paid off in White Lightning succeeding in getting to the starting point of their mission. I was expecting through sheer luck that they would make it but oh well this is Exterminatus Now after all where the unexpected happens on a regular basis.

I like to think they never tried in the first place - they just took the cigs and cider and legged it. Their arrest is for a completely unrelated incident, of course!

lirlond - February 28, 2012 12:23 AM (GMT)
Millwall were playing and they had their previous commitments to think of.

RedFox742 - February 28, 2012 02:57 AM (GMT)
Rogue is unimpressed. He already owns 20 of those back home in Taika.

Oddly_1aundulxaldin - February 28, 2012 03:46 AM (GMT)
Really Mr. Pix. THIS AGAIN.

LeaKaneBaby - February 28, 2012 06:18 AM (GMT)
It's pretty bad with LOTHAR is playing the Sane Man, even if it is just this page.

Rather, it's bad when there is, in fact, a sane man in these four.

It'll probably be fixed next page, though.

Also, WHOO COLLECTOR TOY.

Why didn't he make East smile too?

lirlond - February 28, 2012 04:39 PM (GMT)
Because East is a miserable bastard, obviously.

Lexum - February 28, 2012 08:15 PM (GMT)
"I also have that N7 armor that you could only get if you pre-or..."
"HARDER, East."

Eastwood - February 28, 2012 08:23 PM (GMT)
In one of the earlier drafts, East had used their operations budget to have that made out of a suit of Black Guard carapace armour. Yes, he spent Inquisition funds on a suit of entirely functional armour for Halloween.

Completely justifiable.
I'd've done it.

And I was surprised when a 23-window VW van went over the Barrett-Jackson block for $200,000+ a while back:

I suspect the theme here is "where Real Value is involved, Prices go absolutely apeshit". :)

In all seriousness (and not to be pointing out the obvious), it's most likely that new 'book end' East got a few strips back.

Justice Bear - March 4, 2012 08:13 AM (GMT)
I dunno, that seemed like just an ordinary bookend to me. Why would anyone need to hire mercenaries / shinobi to take that?

It's a collectors edition bookend. One of those really stupid things that they give out at cons that sucks but you want anyway just so you can rub it in your friends face you went to the con and they didn't. Like those keychains.

I guess I really shouldn't blame you, since the one-a-week schedule means pacing's hard to get right. I run into that myself with webcomics, where something supposedly significant happens and I've completely forgot the setup from weeks earlier that makes it significant. But the storyline is titled "The Bookend of Unimaginable Power". So you're right: it's the bookend. And you're right: you are pointing out the obvious :P

With with them having proper titles now, what's the chance we'll get a (Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys style) chapter cover at the start of each storyline?
