Title: The Forsaken Mountain
Description: A D&D Campaign

Eastwood - June 19, 2010 09:37 PM (GMT)
Well, here we go again. After the Clockwork Tomb fell through due to a lack of focus, and the hideous warping influence of the outside world, I’ve been able to take on board what I could from it to see how I could improve as a DM, and how I could improve a campaign.

The Forsaken Mountain is a D&D Campaign that begins at Level 1, and can have up to six party members. Unlike like last time, I’ll simply push you in the direction of D&D character builder if you don’t want to use the premade characters from an official D&D source. The demo version of the character builder is free, but somewhat restricted, and whilst the full version does require you to spend money, it’s not a huge amount. Or you can buy the books (Or perhaps acquire them otherwise) and make them by hand. You know, either or. We’ll come to an arrangement one way or another.

In regards to characters, I’m not too fussed on classes although I’d prefer at least one tank and one healer, but that isn’t a hard and fast rule. All play rogues if you want, it’s all the same to me. On races, however, I’d rather you avoided “evil” races, such as goblins, orcs or drow. I won’t say no to most, but those three are right out for various reasons I won’t go into right now.

When this will start, I don’t know. Let's assemble a crew, first.

But from you I will need a character, right now just a name and a race, and eventually a sheet and description.

The Cast
Bjorn Bjornson, Dwarf Fighter - Lothar Hex
Quest, Tiefling Warlord - Twib
Yerel Prigles, Half-Elf Ranger - Retro
Thorgrim Grimthor, Dwarf Cleric - Met
Petyr Rivers, Human Fighter - Lirlond
B'ret Turtleneck, Human Wizard - Pix

Lothar Hex - June 19, 2010 09:40 PM (GMT)
I'm in. I'll stick with Bjorn Bjornson, dwarf fighter using the premade character sheet. Same story as before. Father is a mine owner and Bjorn, somewhat unique among dwarves couldn't give two lumps of coal about digging in the dirt. Left home and never looked back.

DanThe57 - June 19, 2010 09:42 PM (GMT)
I will probably use quest, but I will rebuild him my way with the character builder since I love toys

Retrogamer! - June 19, 2010 09:50 PM (GMT)
Yerel Prigles - Female Half-Elf Ranger

lirlond - June 19, 2010 09:53 PM (GMT)
Petyr Rivers, Male Human Monk(Or Fighter, will look over each)

Cheers for the shout ;p

Metallix Brother - June 19, 2010 09:57 PM (GMT)
Oh hell yeah, all over this.

enter Foo Man Chu, Human Monk!

Scratch that. Meet Thorgrim Grimthor, Dwarf Cleric.

Pixellated - June 19, 2010 10:01 PM (GMT)
I'm in!

B'RET TURTLENECK, HUMAN WIZARD.

DanThe57 - June 19, 2010 10:03 PM (GMT)
New and improved Quest, that said I am seeing no healer, mayber I will roll up a cleric if none show up...

The results of wasting time with excel.

Lothar Hex - June 20, 2010 09:08 AM (GMT)
Twib. Get a girlfriend.

DanThe57 - June 20, 2010 09:23 AM (GMT)
that would mean being social, besides no job

Eastwood - June 20, 2010 10:37 AM (GMT)
Right, whilst we all know we require Maptools and Skype, odds are the introductory session will just require Skype and maybe an hour at most, as there's a few things about the campaign I need to get across when you're all comitted.

I will also require each of you to choose a number between 1 and 6, but each of you must have a different number.

DanThe57 - June 20, 2010 10:41 AM (GMT)
the number 3

lirlond - June 20, 2010 10:57 AM (GMT)
I'll go with 5

Oh, my Skype is Lirlond

Metallix Brother - June 20, 2010 11:10 AM (GMT)
6, mofo.

Pixellated - June 20, 2010 11:38 AM (GMT)
I'm the new Number Two.

Lothar Hex - June 20, 2010 12:32 PM (GMT)
One.

DanThe57 - June 20, 2010 01:12 PM (GMT)
that leaves retro with 4

Pixellated - June 20, 2010 01:13 PM (GMT)
What kind of number is 4, anyway? What a stupid number. Whoever is even associated with the number 4 is a loser.

Just kidding 4, you're a beautiful number and don't let the other non-primes tell you otherwise

Eastwood - June 20, 2010 02:44 PM (GMT)
Excellent gentlemen. Excellent.

As I said, the first session will be via Skype, so can we organise a date?

DanThe57 - June 20, 2010 02:45 PM (GMT)
the usual whenever, probably monday for all of you, though after tf2 is not bad

Pixellated - June 20, 2010 03:23 PM (GMT)
I'm good anytime. East, pick something definite which works for you, and others will adhere to it.

Eastwood - June 20, 2010 03:40 PM (GMT)
Well, tonight at 8? I need ALL of you there for the intro. Subsequent sessions can stand to lose a few people, but I need all of you there.

Failing tonight? Wednesday, or Friday, at the same time.

Retrogamer! - June 20, 2010 05:12 PM (GMT)
I'm fine for tonight, if not, Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

Eastwood - June 20, 2010 06:02 PM (GMT)
Won't be tonight, it seems. As I said, I need all six, and at least one of you won't be on.

Lothar Hex - June 20, 2010 06:09 PM (GMT)
Yeah you kind of need to give me more than an hour's notice. Wed or Fri should be OK.

Pixellated - June 20, 2010 06:15 PM (GMT)
Friday's good for me.

Lothar Hex - June 20, 2010 06:22 PM (GMT)
Well it turns out tonight just freed up.

Eastwood - June 20, 2010 06:22 PM (GMT)
Wait, seems we're on again. Lirlond? Met?

Edit - Or not.

Mark us down for Thursday.

DanThe57 - June 20, 2010 06:27 PM (GMT)
I am sooo confused

Eastwood - June 20, 2010 06:32 PM (GMT)
Thursday, 8pm BST.

Lothar Hex - June 20, 2010 06:37 PM (GMT)
Can make that but I work the next day so can't go on for too long.

Eastwood - June 20, 2010 06:41 PM (GMT)
The first session should take an hour at most. It's just to get everyone together, reveal what the campaign is about, and set the stage. That's why I need all six of you, because I'm not going to repeat it.

Later sessions may take longer, but won't need all of you.

Pixellated - June 20, 2010 08:42 PM (GMT)
Right, usual drill: Lirlond, Retro, Met, post with your characters' weapons, hair colour, skin colour, eye colour, and any clothes/coloured clothes you'd like them in and I'll get some sprites done. Only half the amount of work to do this time, eh?
