Appearance: To be blunt, E'lan is gorgeous. He stands just under six feet tall, has a head of tightly-curled black hair, and possesses not a spare ounce of fat on his muscular body. Despite this, he seems to carry an aura of quiet uncertainty with him wherever he goes, rather than smug arrogance. He rarely looks others in the eye, and when he does his gazes are furtive and short. Still, when he does meet the inspections of others his own eyes are a lovely clear hazel color, and when he can be coaxed into it, his smiles are wide and pleasant to behold. He possesses a very strong jawline ending in a slightly elongated chin, and his skin is a naturally dusky shade whether he gets much sun or not.

Typically, E'lan wears older cast-off clothing. He doesn't have the marks for anything nicer and besides, few people pay much attention to the poor if they can help it. Still, he takes good care of what he does have, and his outfits tend to last him a very long time assuming the unexpected accidents befall them. In keeping with his poverty, E'lan owns only one very ragged, thin-soled pair of boots and no jewelry whatsoever. He does, however, carry a belt knife on his person at all times (generally out of sight if possible) and though it's probably as old as he is, E'lan keeps it deadly sharp.

One last physical characteristic of note is E'lan's voice. In singing terms he is a bass, and this carries across into his normal speaking voice. It has a very deep, mellow timbre to it, having evened out into smooth, dark tones several Turns back. Still, E'lan has never had any real singing training and his dislike of calling attention to himself means that he rarely bothers to sing at all...and then very quietly.

Personality: A person's first impression of E'lan is generally that he seems shy, reserved, and possibly even afraid of other people. He rarely speaks unless spoken to, however, once you get him going, he generally seems to forget all about his reservations and will happily speak with a person for hours. In truth, his quiet demeanor is a defense mechanism. He has long since learned not to call attention to himself, but if friendly attention finds him first, he is usually lonely and desperate enough to take advantage of it. As yet, no unfriendly attention has found him, but he lives in a near-constant state of low-level paranoia about it.

After all, E'lan is a wanted man. That's why he introduces himself as Kallun everywhere he goes and rarely gives people a good look at his face unless he has started to feel comfortable around them. After all, any stranger might be an enemy, looking to turn him in for a reward, even if that reward is just to put themselves in the good graces of the lord of Fork Hold. Appropriately, given the nature of the crime he stands accused of, Elan has been completely celibate for over two Turns. The very last thing he needs, Elan figures, is to give a girl plenty of time to memorize his face and potentially give him away if someone comes looking for him. Besides, sex is more of a bitter thing to him now than anything else, since the last time he partook of it he was labeled a rapist.

Still, despite his misfortunes, Elan is and always had been gentle-hearted and kind. He works very hard at every task set before him; not just because he wants approval, but because he honestly wants to make life easier for others. This has made things very difficult for him, since he wants to go out of his way to help people but doesn't want to stick in anyone's memory if he can help it. Still, more often than not he finds himself toting heavy loads, standing guard over caravan goods, and even mucking out runner stalls at the Holds the caravan stops at, just because he can.

Biography: Born to a low-bred shepherd and his wife around the Fork Hold area south of Bitra, Elanderos never really had many aspirations in life beyond "grow up, find a woman, take over the flocks after father dies". The first of three sons and a daughter, Elanderos got along as well as could be expected with his siblings, though with a special fondness for his youngest brother, the baby of the family. Little Pendrin was kind, sweet-tempered, and extremely good with the animals. He was also prone to clutching at Elan's leg and demanding to go everywhere his big brother did, which the ten-Turn-older boy accepted with surprising (to his parents) patience.

Elanderos was always a good, obedient child, and upsetting his parents was something he strove to avoid at all costs. He accepted as many chores and duties onto his own shoulders as possible, just to lighten the load from the backs of others, and he did it with a smile. All was well until shortly after Elanderos reached his seventeenth Turn. One of the daughters of Fork Hold came across him at a Gather where Elanderos and his other brother Torfess were selling wool from their flocks along with one of their father's Hold friends. Elanderos, good-natured and naive as he was, fell madly in love. The pair fell almost immediately into bed together, and Elanderos swore to come back the very next time the Hold hosted a Gather.

Two months later, Elanderos was woken in the night by a pounding on the door to his family's small beasthold. His father answered it to find their Fork Hold friend, Irdan, waiting on the other side, an exhausted runner steaming nearby in the cold air. He came to warn Elan that the girl he'd slept with was pregnant and claiming that the young shepherd had taken her against her will. Men were coming, Irdan warned, to drag Elanderos off to his trial, and it was extremely likely that the girl's enraged Lord father would show him no leniency.

Poor Elan was so confused and devastated that he found himself packed and mounted runnerback before he'd even come to grips with what was happening. Go west, his father told him, despair in his eyes, and his mother wept as they sent him off. Little Pendrin cried the whole time, and their father had Torfess take him away so that the boy wouldn't accidentally give away the truth of his brother's flight from the beasthold.

Feeling the shattered pieces of his old life slip between his fingers, Elan rode for three days until his runner dropped dead beneath him. By that point, the shepherd wasn't much better-off. Disoriented and exhausted, he barely saw Thread coming in time to get under cover. He spent over a candlemark shivering in his cave, and when he emerged, Elan realized that he had the perfect opportunity to throw his pursuers off of his trail. The only things he had that were Threadproof were his belt buckle and a ring his father had given him. The ring he dumped on top of a Thread burrow, and he tore the buckle off of the belt and deposited it at the attack site as well. Then he ran, still heading west.

Eventually, Elanderos stumbled out of the wilderness and into Lemos Hold. It was there that he met the Telwin trading caravan and swore to work harder than anyone else, if they would just take him with them. For the past two Turns, Elanderos has gone by the name Kallun, and though he hates the idea that his family probably thinks him dead, Elan doesn't really like the thought of being castrated and exiled, so he has never once attempted to contact them.

(Planning to have him Searched during the upcoming Gather.)

DRAGON/WHER CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY AGREEMENT:

I, Tenteki, role-player of Elanderos, agree to uphold all of the rules of Evergen Weyr. If my character Impresses/bonds, I will promise to be active in at least every other applicable lesson. I will love my new baby dragon or wher and care for it like it was a real living creature. I will not abandon it by leaving Evergen Weyr, I will not be disappointed, and I will not be angry at any persons for any reason concerning my new partner.

If my character does not Impress/Bond, I promise to remain an active member of Evergen Weyr anyway in the hopes that they may find their destined partner. I also promise to revise my character regularly to keep it at the highest quality I can attain.

If my character Impresses I understand that I have been rewarded with a very special creature and that the responsibilities that accompany this include, but are not limited to:
1.) Attending any RP meetings pertinent to my character's rank.
2.) Being online and actively posting at least three times a week.
3.) Writing at least 200 words in at least 2 paragraphs per post to serve as an example to my fellow RPers.
4.) Supporting all plots that come along so that the site remains entertaining and active.
5.) Letting the Evergen Staff know by way of a PM or Away board post if I cannot be online for a certain period of time. I will also renew the post at least once a month for a maximum of three (3) months or else my character will be revoked from me and/or killed.

I also agree that if I do not follow the above stipulations my character(s) may be taken from me and killed-off without warning and that my user account may also be banned or deleted.

By stating the phrase "I, Tenteki, agree to these terms" in the following space, I fully adhere to this agreement.

~I, Tenteki, agree to these terms.

*Please DO NOT post LoA's in the cbox. Admins may not see them. Post in the Gone Away board to avoid miscommunication.
*Note: The Cbox will autoban anyone that posts more than five times in rapid succession, so be careful!
