Evergen is set during an alternate 8th Pass of the Red Star. (Approximately 400 turns pre-Aivas)

Evergen boasts a healthy total of over 500 Rider's Weyrs, with over 300 full. Most of the weyrs are equipped with running water baths and latrines, though some of the newer, hastier made weyrs lack these luxuries. Two public baths, for males and females, can be found inside the Weyrling Barrack Complex, as well as a moderately sized underground lake in the Lower Caverns that is heated by magma activity far below the surface of this extinct volcano.

A new complex, the Lowest Caverns, plays host to our wher population, containing anything and everything the whers and their handlers need for a comfortable life, including their own kitchen, hatching sands, rooms, and bathing area.

The weather around Evergen is rather temperate. It is usually sunny and clear, but the weather can be unpredictable. Winter is incredibly cold and snow falls often, while summers are clear and sunny and warm, but not overly hot. Autumn is usually windy and crisp, while Spring is heralded by mud and greenery.

Evergen is located on the western side of a line of high cliffs a little ways off the coast south west of High Reaches Weyr and Hold. Closer to the coast on its western side is Carcara Hold. The hold is in view of the ocean, but the weyr itself is not. The surrounding areas around the Weyr contain a plethora of cliffs and shear drop-offs. Trees are sparse, but hundreds of species of bushes, grasses, and low-growing plants are common. It would be easy for someone to become lost in the thousands of ravines, drop-offs, and small caves dug into the cliffs, and it is home to many holdless people.
