The Here and Now, Current Plot

It first occurred early 2012...

Around the world reports came in of mass numbers of people being 'spirited away' for what appears to have been ten to fifteen minutes - all at the same time. Where exactly they disappeared to is unknown, however the stories were all very similar in that they'd encountered creatures 'not of this world' and any who had technological equipment on them said it wouldn't work at all.

The point where the largest amount of reported disappearances occurred - and apparently continued to occur sporadically - is Echo City, a large metropolis located in the United Kingdom. After a UN summit to assess what should be done, a United Governments Agency had been set up in Echo in order to investigate this apparent 'doorway' to a whole other world filled with creatures that people had only ever thought existed in myths and legends.


On the other side...

For nearly two millennia the presence of humans had been almost non-existent - only the rare occasional ones that somehow fell through the veil. However, they are remembered quite well by the long-lived...

In the realm of Lunariata, the inhabitants have a mixture of feelings about the sudden returned connection to the human world - many remember the mortals as being treacherous and are still blaming them for the predicament they found themselves in. Some wish to take over or eradicate the human race altogether, some wish that the worlds could remain separate, and others believe this is divine intervention in order to rebalance the worlds.


But the even more disturbing development of 'bonds' between some of the immortal and the mortal may change things altogether...

With the two very different worlds beginning to merge will the conflict between technology and magic, between mortal and immortal, be too much to ever find a balance... or will the connection that ties the inhabitants of both prove to heal the wounds of the past and make the world whole once more?

One hundred years later and those days were all but a memory for most...

The stories that circulated from that time spoke about an invasion - or more like two invastions over the timeframe of around six months.

First there were the dragons which crossed over to the human side, bringing their raging tempers and destructive power over the elements with them and causing havoc for the innocent citizens who had no idea of what was going on around them. People were killed and others went missing, and it was decided that whatever was going on, the creatures from this other world were a menace.

And so the second invasion began, as the humans eventually found ways to cross over to Luna, bringing their weapons and machinery and attempting to either capture or attack anything that they thought looked like a threat.

War was beginning to brew on the horizon, and it was clear that neither side was ready to be part of the same world. It was when it became far too dangerous that one of the few elder dragons left attempted to close all the gates between the worlds, and ended up sacrificing herself in the process, becoming the Last Gate, and succeeding in separating the worlds once more as the veil was reinforced.

Life returned to normal for most, though there were some who carried wounds. Very few got trapped on the wrong world... but time passed and most of them passed on.

And now... after a hundred years, it was very early one morning when every creature would have heard a soft sigh in their dreams. And when they awoke, their lives would never be the same.

The veil has fallen , the worlds have become one - trees and plants sticking through and out of buildings, power and telephone wires disrupted by roots and branches... and humans once again living beside myths and legends.

Lunariata has returned...
