Suddenly the world of technology and the world of magic are beginning to merge and those who do remember everything may not have the happiest opinions on the development.

Can the new ties that bind the two very different realms heal the wounds of the past... or will the intentions of less than noble parties only make everything more difficult?

"No, no... Vet as in veterinarian...," she blinked in confusion. "..er, an animal doctor. Jezebel is a dog."

The lioness smiled slightly, she understood now. Didn't mean it confused her any less though. Why would he have named his dog a word that named 'whore'? Oh well, it wasn't for her to decide or judge.

“Geez, its been a few years since Jez could have really been considered a whore. I mean she was one back in the day, but she’s a bit old for that now,” He chuckled softly and shook his head, and Finesse couldn't help the smile that escaped her. Yes, she liked this one more and more. “The only thing she’s a whore for these days is cuddles.” Finesse perked up. She was a whore for cuddles too. She was a lioness, a cat in general, and she loved to touch and be touched. It didn't even have to be sexual to be enjoyed. She just enjoyed the closeness and the warmth.

"... Uh, that won't be necessary... You don't have to worry about paying us back for anything."

She blinked. That was very generous, and it also made her automatically suspicious. Oh well no matter. If they tried to trap her she'd simply attack them. They were human so she shouldn't have too much of a problem if it came to that. She hoped it didn't though, simply because she didn't want to think of her favorite cracker as taking part in that kind of deception. "Alright," she said softly, "thank you. I appreciate it." Still, even if it was true she was sure as hell going to do something for them.

“Consider yourself a guest, Miss Ariella, nothing more.”

The lioness nodded to him with a thankful smile, which turned to a soft one as he addressed the tombstone. The woman buried there must have been very important him.. and when she saw the same, spectral figure that had liked the flowers wave gently at the two men and then smile at her.. well, she had to smile back. The figure mouthed something to her, and when she caught it she nodded at the figure. "Of course," she smiled as the ghost disappeared again. The spectre had asked her to watch them, and she would, as best as she could.

“And I’ll see you two back at my place. Safe driving.” With a nod, the man then began to stroll out of the cemetery, and Finesse waved after him before turning to Caleb, smiling slightly before she started that way too. "Shall we go or would you like a minute here?" She then thought of something, and spoke again, her tone curious and somewhat worried. "What do you drive? Please tell me it's not one of those rumbling stinky things.. A motorized carriage?"

A glance to Kallan and his son immediately noticed the look that crossed the man's features at the idea of prostitution. Even though Caleb knew that his old man did have a tendancy to kid around, he was also respectable to women. Obviously a lot had changed since the last time Ariella had been on the Earth side of the Veil and perhaps she still stuck to those old ways. But the dark look seemed to have passed before Kallan bid his farewell to them and to the headstone.

Caleb could not help but shift slightly at the gesture from his father while he too looked to where his mother was buried. Despite his encounters with the strange and fantastic the past few weeks, he still felt awkward at speaking with the 'air' or even the tombstone. Though he could not help but catch the young woman as she seemed focused on something else entirely before she said, "Of course."

"Of course what?" A brow was raised to her before Caleb glanced back to nod at his father as well while the man departed. When he looked back to Ariella she seemed to be heading in the general direction of where the cars were parked before she stopped, "Shall we go or would you like a minute here? ... What do you drive? Please tell me it's not one of those rumbling stinky things.. A motorized carriage?"

He chuckled, "Yes actually... I do drive one of those rumbling things." It never failed to amuse him, the descriptions for modern things that Aeree came up with and it seemed Ariella was no exception. Though at the question of whether or not he he needed a moment, Caleb reached out to put his hand on the headstone and fell silent.

Caleb truly wished that he could talk to her. He wished that he had been able to spend more time with her before she had passed away, but he had been so busy with school and plans to go to the military...

"Yeah, let's go..." Caleb sighed before his hand fell away and he took a step or two back and he focused on Ariella, "Are you not comfortable with riding in a car?"

Would he have to wrestle her in the car like he did with Aeree?

"Of course what?"

She shook her head slightly. It was somewhat of an unspoken rule to not break the faith of the dead and she wouldn't now, even if he really tried to get it out of her. "Don't worry about it," she murmured, "just talking to myself."

"Yes actually... I do drive one of those rumbling things."

Finesse frowned, pausing in her walking and looking at him. Why did everyone here drive them? What had happened to horses and carriages?

"Yeah, let's go... Are you not comfortable with riding in a car?"

Finesse blinked slowly at him as if trying to figure out whether he was kidding or not. When she determined that he was serious she shook her head, shifting from foot to foot nervously. "I didn't even know what they were called. My time carriages were still in use and I'd never seen a 'car' before coming here, so of course I'm not comfortable."

She followed him though because there was really little else to do, and she did kind of have to go with. Sighing heavily she followed the younger male, not looking forward to riding in this... thing, but she was also keeping in mind what the ghost had said. She wanted her to watch them, and so she would, but unfortunately for her that meant actually being around. Even in a car. Of course it was odd for a ghost to say such a thing, they were usually detached from the mortals, and the extent of it was about how their family's were doing. It almost seemed like this ghost might be worried for them, and in her experience ghosts simply knew things.

When they reached it she stopped and stared.

"I have to get in that thing?"

"I didn't even know what they were called. My time carriages were still in use and I'd never seen a 'car' before coming here, so of course I'm not comfortable."

"... Sorry." Caleb was not sure what else to say. It was strange talking to a woman who was practically a relic in the eyes of the modern world, even if she looked to be only his age or younger. He continued onward, now leading the way toward the small rental car that he was using for the time being - his Jeep having been totaled thanks to a particular dragon named Shi.

When they reached it, he took two steps before he realized that Ariella had stopped dead in her tracks. When he looked back, the woman was staring at the vehicle, "I have to get in that thing?"

Caleb refrained from the sigh that threatened to slip past his lips. Was he going to have the same problem with Ariella that he had with Aeree? He had practically had to chase the woman around the car just to get her to even consider going inside of it.

"Well... yes, actually. It's similar to those carriages you mentioned. You get inside of it and sit down while the driver drives you. It's just missing... well, the horse. That's all."

A glance was directed her way with a slight eyebrow raised before he moved forward to the passenger side and opened the door. The man took a step back, allowing her to do her own inspection if she so wished, "It won't hurt you. It's just a bit loud is all..."

He really hoped that would convince her.

"... Sorry."

She blinked. "No don't apologize. Sorry I snapped it's just... these things freak me out sugar." It showed, mostly because her Southern accent got a little thick the more agitated she got, as she stared at the metal contraption in fear. It wasn't so scary right now, when it wasn't moving, but she still hated the sheer unnatural smell of it.

"Well... yes, actually. It's similar to those carriages you mentioned. You get inside of it and sit down while the driver drives you. It's just missing... well, the horse. That's all."

Finesse was still staring at the thing, and yeah his words made sense but that didn't make her any less afraid of it. It scared her, plain and simple, and she circled the thing warily, staring at it, as if expecting it to leap at her and try and bite.

"It won't hurt you. It's just a bit loud is all..."

She glanced at him and then at the open door, hesitantly getting closer and peering inside, touching the edge of the doorway and being a little shocked at the coolness of the metal. Sniffing deeply of the scent she noticed it smelled a little better inside, and hesitantly, shivering slightly, she slipped into the seat and shut the door behind her. She jumped at the slamming sound, but relaxed slightly when she realized just how comfy the seat was. It cradled her, and she even found herself purring slightly, except for the brief moment of panic when she realized she couldn't feel the earth beneath her feet any longer.

"It's not that I think it will hurt me it's just so... unnatural. I cannot feel the earth and that scares me...." Though she made herself stay put. She would watch them as the ghost had asked and it seemed like they might be a very good place to start when it came to gathering information on this side, though admittedly she had no idea just how high placed Kallan was with the subject Aeree wanted to know most about. Or Caleb for that matter. "Can we go before I freak out?" she asked, semi-politely but a tinge of panic to her voice.

A part of Caleb dreaded how long this might take to convince the woman to get in the vehicle. A good chunk of time had been spent just trying to coax Aeree in afterall, but this woman was a complete stranger. Yet she somehow seemed oddly trusting of him. Was it because he did know Aeree? Maybe... though she had already aired that the two of them apparently had their differences.

Thankfully it did not take long for her to finally slip into the seat and the door be closed behind her. Caleb wasted no time in moving around to the driver's side to slid in behind the wheel, "It's not that I think it will hurt me it's just so... unnatural. I cannot feel the earth and that scares me...."

The human watched her a moment before he finally nodded. He supposed he could see the reasoning in that and wondered if Aeree had also felt the same way, "Can we go before I freak out?"

"Yeah. Just hang tight... we'll be there in a few minutes." At least his father's place was not too far from the cemetary as Caleb turned the ignition and jerked the car in gear. Out of the corner of his eye he watched Ariella constantly to make sure she did not do anything drastic like leap out the door or try to climb out the window all the while going as fast as he dared with her inside. At least it was not far... he kept telling himself.
