So here at Durmstrang we've got some factions, and we expect everyone to join one. Here's your guide to what they are:


Order of the Phoenix

Led by Harry Potter. This group of mostly light wizards was founded by Albus Dumbledore when Voldemort first declared war on the wizarding world. It used to be a secret organization and now is fairly well known. Simplified, it's the side of good & light magic.



The Death Eaters

Led by Lord Voldemort. The Death Eaters are Voldemort's personal band of followers. They are all dark wizards and mostly purebloods as well. They support purity in the wizarding world (meaning no Muggles) and tend to work through semi-official means, by taking over key positions in the Ministry of Magic. They all bear the Dark Mark on their left forearm.



The Durmstrang Damned

Originally led by Igor Karkaroff, now led by Nordekai Ivo Stratford. A splinter faction from the Death Eaters, formed when Igor, who had been Voldemort's chief minion at Durmstrang, disobeyed an order and barely escaped with his life.

(The basic quick history there is that Igor pulled a Snape, faked his own death, and after Hogwarts fell, showed up again as Voldie's chief minion. His son was late to a DE meeting because he couldn't get out of class inconspicuously, Voldie got angry and told Igor to Crucio Nik, and Igor refused, Voldie told the other DEs to punish them, and they both ran to Nordie. There've been a couple of battles, one of which resulted in Igor's death at Voldemort's wand, so now Nordie leads it. There you go.)

The Durmstrang Damned is composed of both light and dark wizards who oppose both Voldemort and the Order who would wipe dark magic out if they could.


Ministry

We are very soon going to need students loyal to the Ministry. Some of these may also be in the Order, but I'm guessing most of them won't be in any of the other factions.
