Who We Are
Welcome to Durmstrang Institute! We're a semi-Canon Harry Potter board. The year is 2-3 years after Harry would have graduated from Hogwarts.

The Plot
There’s nothing better than drama to get Death Eaters, especially the inner circle, interested in a school. With the downfall of Hogwarts at the hands of the utterly maniacal Dark Lord himself, students were scattered across the globe - the ones who survived, at least. Most of those, however, found themselves at Durmstrang Institute. What had once been known best as a training school for new Death Eaters had now been infiltrated with do-gooders and happy-go-luckies. Not something that the original students or their teachers much appreciated.

Of course, when you combine annoyed teenagers with dark magic, something is bound to happen. Kiddies report to their parents, and before anyone knew it, Durmstrang had been attacked, too. Blown to bits in some strategic places, and the former Hogwarts students were terrified: as they should have been. No one in Durmstrang had expected the attack, other than whispers, but when only the “new” students got hurt...there were always suspicions about who had encouraged their parents. Or their Lord.

Now, the repairs have to come through. Though not fully destroyed, the castle that had been a fortress was now even more vulnerable to those pesky light-lovers. And who on the dark side would want that? Repairs have begun, new alliances are being formed.

The Shady Woodland borders about half of the Durmstrang Grounds. The dark, ancient forest holds many mysterious and dangerous creatures and plants, and whlie students are not forbidden from entering it, they are warned to carry their wands at all times. The gateway to Voldemort's Secret Lair is rumored to be here, though those who know its location aren't telling.

At the very edge of the Durmstrang grounds lies a small, tree-lined graveyard, where their bodies rest. The graveyard is warded by spells preventing Necromancy and grave desecration.

This is the extremely tall (yet crooked) apartment building, featuring 100 flats over 25 floors. With a scenic view of a hippogriff manure shop, it emanates warmth and the feeling of home. The residents here enjoy spending their days in the affordable (and rightly so) flats offered here. Many of Durmstrang's graduates and Durmiversity students reside here.
