Dragons
Huge serpentine forms with two wings and four legs, the dragon species are extremely variable. Some might have a crocodile's head, the wings of a bat and the horns of a goat, others a single ridge of spikes running down their backs, feathered wings and a hood like a cobra's. There are feathered dragons, but the norm is to have an armour of thick scales protecting the body. These scales come in infinite colors, and may even be decorated with stripes or spots. Dragons have keen hearing and smell.
These cool-blooded beasts are heavy and powerful and rely on the power of their jaws and the sharpness of their claws to fight. Lords of the land with their massive strength and armor, while on the ground they know no equal!
Griffons (gryphons, griffins)
Half lion, half eagle, with a horse's ears and sometimes fins and horns; if ligther on the armor department, griffons can be as large as dragons. They are acrobatic flyers, quick, nimble, and deadly. The feathers covering their bodies can be any color, decorated with tiger stripes, a jaguar's spots, or infinite variations. Males tend to have colored crests and a massive mane of feathers around their necks. The griffon's main sense is the sight, and they have the eagle's keen vision.
Griffons are well known for their courage and speed. Indisputable kings of the skies, their primary weapons are the sharp talons of their forelegs which they use combined with the full weight of their bodies.
