The afternoon sun reflected brightly off purple scales, coloring the grasses rainbow. A dragon lay in the field, watching the sky with blank white eyes. Such a calming place, a nightingale sang in the distance. The dragon breathed deeply, causing the grass around her to bend. Koya Illair stretched her mighty wings, letting the long sober fingers stretch and the black skin between thin out. The sun shone through her ebony fibers but silhouetted the veins snaking through them.
Yes, it was so peaceful and calm. Koya crossed her talons, staring at her obsidian claws as the sun's ray danced off in rainbows.
It must have been so relaxing to lay there! But honestly...Koy was thoroughly bored. There was nothing to do these days, really. Shame. She remembered when she was young how she would race with other dragons, usually winning thanks to her slim size. Koy sighed. How she wanted those days back. But then again, would she want to go back to being teased for her "limited intelligence"? No. Not when she finally let her brain be known!
Yet... It was much more exciting back then. Even with the danger of griffons, it was a more alive time. Now things were on the mellow, even if the distrust between kingdoms was high, there were not current wars of the sort.
Koya stretched her long neck out and opened her jaws, releasing a mighty roar that shook the birds from their nests. Boredom indeed.
