Here are the available elements your dragon or griffon can take:

Fire
Water
Earth (Shards)
Wind (Sound)
Electricity
Mind (Psionic energy)
Darkness
Light

Any dragon or griffon that has one of these elements can control it by breathing it. For example, a Fire element griffon will be able to breathe fire.
