Well, they prefer her b/c she is a beter Eva pilot. Like on the first episodes where the pilots have to synchronize themselves in order to defeat the angels. Rei has better and that made Asuka pissed off.

I don't feal like thats a good enough reason.I like my characters because they are good characters..not because of their abilitys..I am a die hard Asuka fan because..well.shes so messed in the head.The poor girl is going through some kind of repressed insanity until the very end where she decides to beat the shit out of everything it site!
Rei..well..I don't mind her..I actually think she is pretty cool.
However,she still must die.She sucks the attention out of Evangelion and she isn't cool enough to deserve it.

I like Asuka because I'm exactly like her. I'm quick tempered and I tend to be very stubborn. I'm also German like Asuka too. Asuka has a lot of personality unlike Rei.

I like Asuka better because as a character, Rei seems...non-existent. She's just there. Yes, she has skills, but she's sorely lacking in something else.

Asuka's a bitch and just needs to be slapped most of the time. I like Rei better than Asuka but I can't stand her sometime either...she's just so emotionless. Personaly I like Misato better.
