I think it'd be awesome if we got all the themes into one playlist -- I also think we should have a seperate playlist for the soundtrack, too. *nodnod*

I've always thought "Dare You To Move" by Switchfoot was a really good song to depict not only the romantic relationships between a lot of couples: Luna and Hiro, Shiro and Cae, Kaira and Zakai, Aviv and Terra, John and Naosu, and Westley and Shikaru. It's the whole thought of "between who you are and who you could be" and "how it is and how it should be" aspect of the song that really defines some of these couples' best qualities. They want to continue to move and be this picture of these great heroes, but almost always something happens and that picture falls short. The world is in chaos when it should be in paradise.

Hiro is a digimon -- but he could someday be a human. How is Luna going to deal with it?

Shiro is depressed, angry, cynicle (I butchered that spelling but I'm too lazy to get up the good ole Merriam Webster so oh well XD) -- but he could be happy, relaxed, enjoying life. Is Cae going to allow him to keep up his wall?

With Kaira and Zakai, it goes for both of them. Kaira is afraid of death (or, at least, before JuneJune's letters she was afraid of getting close to peope -- now she's beginning to loosen up), Zakai is afraid of getting hurt. They could allow their walls down and let the other in (at least, if one was still alive to do so -- how will Kaira deal with Mave, and how exactly would this song apply to him and their "relationship"?).

Aviv and Terra's is obvious when it comes to this song. Aviv is taken over by a virus, Terra is taken over by the darkness in her heart over not being able to save him nor the world surrounding her. He COULD be Aviv -- or COULD remain the virus Iyago. She COULD let the wall down and begin talking to people again -- or she COULD remain letting Aviv's descent plague her.

John is affected by his family's death, and Naosu has always been affected by Nrai's Highway Man days before he became the good ole Nrai we all know now. They could get past this. They could, if they worked together to defeat their fears.

Westley as he currently is is afraid of letting the Soul Scar infect his soul again like it had midway through second season -- as the son of a Dark One, he's naturally messed up. Shikaru, on the other hand, could be the remedy of his fears, as she's the first person he has ever gone out of his way for. When he fought in the final battle of season two, he did it to stop Shikaru from getting hurt. That was the first time he'd ever done something like that, since most of the time he's a wild card -- he'll join whichever side is more likely to win. But this time, he put his foot down and went directly to save Shikaru, no matter what side she was on. He could be a normal man in love, setting aside his asexual tendacies for "the one" woman.

That, and it's all about "Wecome to the fallout" -- what's the fallout of all these relationships and how will it affect the person these people are involved with? In a Nightmare Adelyn, "welcome to the planet, welcome to existence" -- it's not that great right now, eh? As a Wielder having to save the world while everyone despises you from failing to stop the Nightmare Realm from fusing with so many dimensions to begin with, it's "everybody's watching you now, everybody's waiting for you now, what happens next?".

In each of these couples, their significant other dares them to move. Iyago pushes Terra to kill him and thus killing Aviv to stop Iyago from destroying our realm, Adelyn, just as Terra pushes Aviv to try to conquer the virus eating away at him; Mave and Zakai push Kaira toward accepting death and living her life, just as Kaira pushed Zakai to let someone in, and Mave to challenge someone; Luna pushes Hiro to move toward humanity once again; Naosu pushes John to reach out back to the light despite being surrounded in darkness, and he does the same to her, as one who wields the Crest of Forgiveness has a big weight on their shoulders; Shikaru pushes Westley to expel the boundaries between his Dark One side and his human side, as he pushes her toward love and care unlike before where she was like "frostbite"; Cae pushes Shiro to warm the cold ice surrounding his heart, as he pushes her to reach out toward the people she cares most about.

Again: they dare each other to move.

This is the Nightmare Realm fused with the dimension known as Adelyn. "Welcome to the resistance".

I have two a coupla songs for Aviv/Terra, and starting off with: Careless Whisper by Wham!, covered by Seether. It reminds me of Aviv and Terra way back when in first season, when Aviv was still caught up in romances with Deidre, Nekomi, Joey and Madison, etc. and then--bam--realizes how serious he is about Terra, and is slowly coming to that realization (with lines about the dance floor--think of the Egarim Ball, Aviv and Terra dancing together, Aviv later that night admitting what's going on in his head). There's lots of guilt going around, too, since Aviv has realized how important Terra is to him, and Terra HAS, uh, been hurt because of careless actions in the past. x,>

Then the other song that reminds me of Aviv/Terra would be Only One, Yellowcard. It sounds like something that would play in third season, with a dash of Lukas/Terra ("so let me go and you will find someone").

Annnnnd since I'm going over some playlists at youtube, here's some more theme-y songs!

Wherever You Will Go (The Calling // lyrics) -- seems like an appropriate Aviv/Terra song both in first season (when Aviv promised Terra he'd go with her to find Kayla) and in the current season. Also has a lot of Hiro/Luna-ness to it. :3 ...I bet the song's already listed somewhere in the thread, but... c'est la vie. XD

Extraordinary Way (Conjure One // lyrics) always makes me think of Zakai (since the song is a lot about luck and...that would be one of Zakai's digieggs/themes XD), Zakai's bond with Aviv ("a promise that I kept", "cause what I have/is the value you see in these things") and a lot of Zakai/Kaira shippiness ("with your patience", "and the way that you know/how I treasure you"). It's also a really nice theme for DDSCW in general.

And here's a choice inspired by a recent viewing of "Lost Boys"--Cry Little Sister (lyrics). I kind of went *headdesk* over forgetting to put this into the third season soundtrack. It sounds like a good one for Cae, Felix, Hiro and Luna, etc.
