OK, the premise here is to share your knowledge of something people might wish to watch. Post what you're looking for and hopefully others will be able to accommodate you with something. Random recommendations are fine, too.
And to start off, I'd like to recommend Mnemosyne. The basic premise revolves around the Tree of Life in Norse mythology and what its fruit does to people. If a man gets the fruit inside of him, he becomes a winged monster with incredible strength, but a very short lifespan. If a woman gets it inside of her, she becomes immortal, but she gains an irresistible desire to have sex with the men. WARNING: There is nudity and heavy gore. I would recommend Saiyuki.

I suggest Bleach and DeathNote.
Bleach is about a teenager called Ichigo who can see ghosts. He meets a Shinigami (death god), and becomes one through a means that you'll have to watch to find out. He then goes on adventures! Yay. DeathNote is one of the most intelligent manga I've ever read, and, though I've never seen the anime, I'm sure it's as good. It's about a guy who meets a death god, who drops his "DeathNote", which by writing someone's name in you can kill whoever you want. Of course, Light (the main character) uses it to kill the criminals throughout the world. The authorities take this in a bad way, and set out to track him down, with the help of the world's best detective - L. --------------------  ---    <<< The Original Cookie Monster Approved Sticker

OK, I think I should probably point out that most people know what FLCL, Bleach, and Deathnote are, so there's little reason to point them out.

Cloud, you should edit the original post with a list. Maybe post links and such too. I can't add anything more, because my only other manga/anime I really watch that isn't listed, is Full Metal Alchemist, which is mainstream...
