The Village Center Nestled in the cold, unforgiving frostmourne mountains Winterhaven is a refuge for those with nowhere else to go. Or those gathering together to fight Surien's army. Many areas seem to be in the midst of construction. Cabins in different phases of construction dot several areas, and several cabins seem to have a new 'garage' like construction being built into them. It is a last sanctuary to the free folk, now protected by gryphon wings. |

The Feasting Hall Though the times are bleak, and food can be difficult to find in these cold mountains both villagers and riders can come together for warmth, mead and good company. |

The Cabins Small dwellings made from the heartwood trees that grow in the mountains and grey stone cut from the landscape. They maybe small but they are cozy and warm. Gryphon hopeful cabins inside. |

Storage Caverns Carved into the side of the mountain in the same manner as the mines these winding tunnels and caverns hold much needed stored supplies and goods. Because of the coolness of the caverns food can be stored and preserved here year round. |

The Mines Mines from generations past, these were discovered before Winterhaven was constructed. Upon their discovery they were renovated and the walls strengthened with grey stone and heartwood. Inside a few artifacts were discovered from a kingdom now mostly destroyed as well as a few precious gems and minerals. However much of the mines are yet to be discovered, especially the blocked areas and the most dangerous. |

Nesting Grounds Not too far into the mines lay a large cavern, its sides glittering with moist looking stone, almost like ice. Except the stone is luke warm to the touch. Still the stone seems to give off an inner light of its own and reflects the touch flames set up around the interior. Powdery sand lines the floor, as if the stone that lines the wall has been crushed into a warm sand. |

Training Grounds An open area past the cabins and at the base of one of the mountain sides. Several archery targets and combat dummies have been set up to one side perfect for practicing with. |

Winterhaven Perimeter Protected by natural rock formations and a wood and stone fence over the exits this is just outside the border of Winterhaven. One must be careful if they are leaving un-escorted for who knows what predators wander about and if enemy patrols will find you. |

The Silver Falls Within walking Distance of Winterhaven, these frozen falls are tucked away in a mountain nook. The river they feed winds down the mountain side and descends the base of the mountains. The falls themselves are composed of not one, but three separate falls then wind down the side of the mountain and form a pool at the bottom. Perfect for swimming in summer. |

Whitethorn Forest A thick forest found nestled in the valleys and nooks of the mountains. Huge silver pines and heartwood trees grow across the landscape. It is a great place to go hunting, as game is abundant. However it is also very dangerous as the aggressive animals of the mountains also roam these forests. |

Mountain Peaks These pillar of ice, snow and stone reach skyward in craggy protrusions. At the highest peaks one can see for miles and miles. If it is not snowing or covered in clouds. The highest peaks are freezing cold and the air is very thin. It is not advisable to stay up so high for long. |

The frozen coast Miles upon miles of cold, desolate coast stretch out along the northern part of Ritharia. Snowfall is common and large ice sheets stretch out over the ocean. Often cracking and drifting apart. However schools of Icelandic Fish swim along between the Ice sheets, often pursued by Whales. |

Forest Rim Cold and often snowy hills descend into a valley filled with a beautiful and often secretive forest. The forest gets it name from the tall, heavy pines that inhabit the region. The needles of these pine turn a natural silver and white color in fall and winter. Most of these pines also retain a slightly frosted green in spring and summer. |

Deep forest Deeper into the heart of the forest the trees thicken, hinting at their ancient age. The forest here is mostly wild now and it is very easy to get lost. There are also dangerous creatures in the heart of the forest. But there is also something hidden, a tale told by the inhabitants of Rockhold. |
