magic: the gathering

rember this game. i remeber when we all used to hang out at jahini's playing this game. well you guys more than me. my question is. does anyone still play this?

last i saw cards where getting expensive and more expensive as the new editions come out.

(Yes I realize the topic is 2 and a half years old. But activity starts somewhere)

Yeah, I play this game all the time. Mostly on thursdays though since me and a group of 6 other people play it. Along with other card games. It's an after school group where we play games. But yeah, love the game. My favorite deck is based on Slivers.

i think my fave decks was based on zombies, but slivers can be fun. the thing i hate about decks like that is playing another sliver deck. then everyone has the exact same abilities and that's a b---- and a half to deal with....

i miss playing magic, i wish i never got rid of my cards.

black and blue hand and permanent control was always my favorite, man i shoulda just kept that deck. i liked to burn things with red too.

I was playing against a friend last night, using my slivers deck and I got my ass handed to me. So I went and used my burn deck. (All mountain) and totally beat him like 20 to 0. It was so easy, the deck I built out of it is so cheap. You get 4 mountain out at 1 time, you can use every card in the deck, some cards doing up to 5 direct damage, others doing extra damage then they attack or block or get blocked.

does it have a lot of creatures with haste in it?

what type do you guys play? (i, ii, vintage, extended....)

That made me remember how much i always loved going: first turn. mountain. tap. lighting bolt for 3. it was like a light slap on your opponent's cheek. usually i liked to keep them and other instant spells for creature control.

The place i played tourney play at we usually played type 1.5, i think that's the same as extended. When Invasion block was new i lobbied for type 2 play. Invasion was a killer set and i made some nasty type 2 decks with it.

Maaaaaaaaaan i miss playing magic! i was playing it some on my buddies xbox360 but it wasn't the same the decks are poo and the damn thing constantly froze. if the shop never closed i would have kept my cards.

When we play we don't play by versions, same with Yu-gi-oh, no restrictions, just playing with anything we can come up with. My mountain deck, as long as you have 4 mountain out, you could play any card in the deck (Excluding Flashbacks) and win in about 4-5 turns depending on your hand.
