Did you know? “The Skeleton in the Cupboard” is the alternative title of the novel Cakes and Ale (1930) by W. Somerset Maugham. This is something I’ve just learnt from tonight’s “University Challenge”. -------------------- Ebudæ

I have just read about William Somerset Maugham (1874–1965) in the glossary at the end of Chapter 16, “The arts”, under the section THE HUMAN ACHIEVEMENT in Volume 2, “The human world”, of the Reader’s Digest Library of Modern Knowledge. Did you know? He also wrote Of Human Bondage (1915).
