<p style="line-height: 150%">I also learn that Celtic languages were spoken in Britain before the 5<sup><u>th</u></sup> century <small>CE</small>. These languages were displaced as the Anglo-Saxons invaded the country – and it was from the Germanic languages spoken by the invaders (which included Frisian and Jutish) that Old English developed.
