[dohtml]Did you know? Ben Jonson (1572–1637) also wrote The Silent Woman, The Alchemist and Bartholomew Fair. I have just read about him in the glossary at the end of Chapter 16, “The Arts”, under the section THE HUMAN ACHIEVEMENT in Volume 2, “The human world”, of the Reader’s Digest Library of Modern Knowledge. “With George Chapman he founded the comedy of ‘humours’, in which each character represents one trait, such as anger – as exemplified in his Every Man in his Humour (1598).” In 1616 he became the first Poet Laureate.[/dohtml]
