To Elaine, things were just begining to get boring. School was just a waste of time, in her eyes. Honestly; what's the point in going to school if your decided career doesn't involve any schooling experience. Elle wanted to sing since she was a child, and her dream of becoming a singer has only grown through the years. School wasn't enhancing her possibility of becoming famous, not to mention, none of the core classes have anything to do with music.

Elaine let out a deep sigh as she looked up towards the clock. A minute and a half until school was over for the day. Oh, that was another thing that bothered her. They always make the last class of the day the absolute worst class ever. Elle's last block of the day, on day A (the days alternate: day a, day b.. different classes each day, etc), was psychology. And the woman who taught the class knew nothing about psychology, or teaching. If you're going to get someone to teach a class, shouldn't they at least know something about the topic that they're going to be teaching? God, people these days.

After what seemed like forever, the final bell rang. Elle couldn't have jumped out of her seat any quicker; she wasn't going to be stuck in the school any longer than possible. And it was days like these that she was happy that her father gave her a spare credit card. He had gotten sick of her begging and pleading for her to borrow the card, and had finally broken down and gotten her her own credit card - so that he couldn't have to listen to her whine anymore. Credit card plus an obsessed shopper means heading to the mall after a hard, long day at school.

Within a few minutes, she had jumped into her car and arrived at the mall. She had probably gone ten miles over the speed limit the whole time, but police officers new better than to mess with the daughter of William Newman; they knew Mr. Newman would beat their ass in the court of law if they gave his daughter a ticket. He had his ways with the court. He knew every law there was to know, and knew how to pull them around just right, so that everyone that was innocent, and even those who weren't, were found innocent.

As she parked her car, she skipped out of the car, shutting and locking the doors behind her. It was something about the mall that put a soft, refreshing grin on her face. She had always said that the air at the mall was a lot fresher, people always dissagreed with her, telling her she was just imagining things due to her "obsessive compulsive shopping disorder". She let out a soft sigh as she entered the mall, and walked straight towards American Eagle; her home away from home.

"See you later!" A high, cheery voice yelled over the overlapping sounds of locker doors slamming, people saying good byes and quick footsteps of people hurrying off to whatever they do after school. Most people knew that voice, seeing as most people watches the school football games. Jennifer Morgan, being the captain of the cheerleading team for football, chants the loudest at the opening of the games. Of course everyone knew her - even most freshmen.

Lifting her shoulder bag onto her shoulder, she walked through the double doors of the school, which led to the school grounds. And headed straight for the gates. Some people headed for the carpark, and since Jen doesn't even own a driver's license, she had to walk. And today, she's going to treat herself with a shopping trip.

With her long legs, it didn't take long before she reached the automatic doors of the mall. She smiled, despite the fact that she didn't have much money to spend anyways. Tucking a strand of curly blonde hair behind her ear, she strode into the mall with her nose in the air. Today, she had herself dressed nicely, because she knew that she was going to come to the mall. Of course, even if she wasn't dressed in what she was wearing today, she would've looked hot and she knows it.

Anyways, today she was wearing a thick-strapped top, which is white, and Jen had covered her arms with a dark pink jacket - it was long-sleeved and just about covered her chest. She had it unbuttoned so the top inside showed through. As for the bottom part of her body, she had denim mini-skirt, which is designed to looked like it was ripped at the bottom. On her feet was black wedges - not too tall, and not too short.

Looking around, Jen knew that she won't be able to afford anything in Gucci, Burberry or Vuitton. In fact, most of the shops in here is inaffordable for her, and she, sadly, knew it. Sighing, she glanced around the mall, with people walking around, swinging bags and bags full of clothes, shoes and whatever they have bought. A second glance found her a shop named 'American Eagle', which is one of the shops that Jen actually goes to. She walked, confidence in her strides, towards the shop. It was barely a minute before she was inside, with her mouth opened and calling someone's name.

"Elle!" A mistake for calling out her friend's name, because she has just forced both of them into an awkward conversation that will probably end with them saying good bye without actually looking at each other.

Elle looked up from the skirt she had been looking at when she heard a familiar voice calling her name. Her eyes scanned the room before her eyes set upon an old friend: Jennifer Morgan, the girl whom she'd known since preschool, yet ended up falling away from after middle school. It was almost funny how times changed; how it had torn them apart, yet in odd instances, it would bring them back for awkward conversations.

Elle forced a large grin onto her face. It wasn't as if she was forcing herself to be friends with the girl for the moment, but it just seemed that every time the two were actually brought into a conversation, it always ended with the two just kind of walking away from each other with other people. That was just the way things were now.

"Hey Jen." Elaine said, her grin quickly spread all the way from her toes to the roots of her hair, as she turned and walked towards her. The girl didn't look a day over twelve. That was one of those things that Elaine had always been jealous of, that Jennifer had the ability to look nearly half her age. And it would definately help her within the next ten years.

"Long time no chat." Elle said with a soft chuckle as she placed a hand on her hip lazily.

A soft pout formed on her rosy lips. Even if she regrets starting a conversation, she wouldn't be rude enough to act like it. "I know, how have you been? It seems like ages since I've seen you."

That, in fact, was not true. Jen has seen Elle walking down a crowded hallway with some friends. Actually, she has a feeling that Elle saw her, also, but they just passed by each other without saying hello. Not that it's unusual for them to be doing that.

She sighed. A quiet, sad sigh. It was a sign that indicated a memory of the 'old times', back when they were close. Jen sort of misses it, even though they're so different - personality and looks-wise. Still, it made her sad that they were no longer as close as they use to be.

How things changed.

"Yeah, it does definately seem like ages ago." Elaine replied with a soft, polite grin, before letting out a small sigh. Alright, so the conversation seemed to be going absolutely no where from Elaine's viewpoint. But the two still knew each other, and they were friends.. well, were being the key point. But still, a conversation to keep the friendship alive every now and again didn't exactly hurt.

"I've been pretty good." Elaine stopped herself before going on. If she hadn't stopped herself, she would have ended up going on about how her Daddy had just hired a renovator to make the house a tad bigger so that Elaine could make her closet bigger. But she knew that, with Jenn's financial situation, it was better not to bring it up. Instead, she let out a coverup cough.

At times, it almost seemed as though it were impossible that the two had ever been friends. They were so different; they came from two complete different worlds. Elaine came from the world of fast cars and wads of cash in her purse. Jenn came from the world of worrying about her family's finances. Luckily for Elaine, that was one of those things she would never have to worry about.

"How about you? Life going good?" She asked, politely. Although, she was pretty sure it would end up as a sob story, like she usually got from people. 'Oh, Elaine. I don't have any money. I don't know how i'm going to end up getting my prom dress and the limo.' People were all the same. Trying to use her and her father's money. Perhaps, that was why she was so bitchy to everyone.

Jen could recognise that cough anywhere. It was the cough that Elle's been using ever since Jen had told her about her family, and her past and history. She knew that it meant that Elle was trying to hide what she had in mind. Although Jen appreciates it, she still couldn't get rid the jealous aching at the pit of her stomach.

Nodding at her question, she smiled. "I got appointed captain for the football cheerleading team." She beamed. Sure, Jen had her problems, but the way to be happy in life was to look at it in a happier way. If all she ever thinks about is the fact that she might not have enough money for her Senior year in school, then she'd be a grumpy old bitch, right?

Besides, she knew Elle as much as Elle knew her. Jen knew that she wasn't a bitch for no reason. It was like Elle was a bitch to protect herself. From people that takes advantage of her. People that really know her are her true friends, as they are the ones who don't take advantage of Elle's money. Jen may once be one of those true friends, and maybe still, but they're not as close as they use to be.
