Possibilites, Scouter Drabble

This is kind of a plot bunny that nipped at my toes. (And I decided to keep Vegeta's scouter - I needed it. )



“Hey Goten, look what I found,” Trunks said excitedly, holding out one of the items for his friend to take from him.

“This is neat,” he said, “But…what is it?”

“It’s a scouter, stupid,” he said putting the light red one on over his eye, “This one was my dad’s. Mom fixed them so she could use them.” He helped his friend put his own on.

“Cooool,” Goten said as lights flashed and readings scrolled across the green screen.

“They’re even communicators,” Trunks grinned. “Come on, let’s play.”

Goten and Trunks crept through the forest, searching for the ‘victim’ they needed to locate and rescue while avoiding any ‘enemies’ that might try to stop them. Every now and then a vicious bush leapt out and attacked them, requiring an instant burst of ki to destroy their opponent.

“Do you think there are any more nearby?” Goten spoke into the communicator.

“Not unless they can hide their ki – otherwise we’d have picked them up on our scouters,” Trunks answered from several yards away.

“Maybe they are scared of us.”

Trunks grinned ferally, trying to imitate an expression his father sometimes made, “Most likely the outclassed weaklings have realized they have no chance against Saiyan might.”

The scouters flashed and chirped a moment and then there was a strange voice.

“Vegeta? How is it you are still alive?”

Green Scouter? Vegeta's. You made a mistake there. But none the less, awesome fic. I wonder who that was on the Scouter.

Oh, what's a Plot Bunnie?

Lovely twist at the end there, Pix! Is this a plot-bunny that might result in a longer story eventually?

There were two scouters in there, Gozar: Trunks had Vegeta's scouter and Goten had the green one Bulma repaired after it was taken from Raditz.

Trunks is wearing Vegeta's scouter (he'd never think of it as pink, so he sees it as light red) and Goten is wearing Radditz'.

A plot bunny is basically a story idea that bites you and won't let go. This one isn't currently big enough to be a whole story - just some random scenes. Sometimes someone will say something that triggers story ideas, hence an attack of the plot bunnies.

Ah, so that's a plot bunnie. Man, that would make a good series, maybe a Drabble series. I'd love to see that continue. I acctually know how it feels to have a Plot Bunnie.

Is there going to be a sequel to this so we find out who the mystery saiyan is?

Kyaaaaaaa~! Such a cool plot bunny. I actually wanted to write a scouter-related Goten and Trunks drabble but couldn't pull it off. The ending of it is such a cliffhanger too! Will there be a longer fic that comes out of it?
