A local broadcast icon died yesterday. I remember watching his morning show when I was but a wee lass and later when I would catch his afternoon cartoon show on Channel 17. Thanks to him, I got my first taste of anime (Astro Boy, Prince Planet, Gigantor, Tobor the 8th Man, and Kimba the White Lion) plus the live action Ultraman (one of the precursors for action shows like Power Rangers, etc.).
