Vengeance, I started a new fic.

Thanks Xaverri!! And thanks for the patience on the update; I actually wanted the chapter to run longer (right now it's sort of sitting just a tad longer than the minimum I'll post for Ven.) especially after such a long wait, but I realized that the wait would be much longer if I had to tack a couple more pages on to this thing.

Ahh, Chichi, I think she's a little bit broken after all those years thinking her husband and son were dead, and she's so terribly happy to see Gohan again, but trying to fight her own horror at hearing what he has to say about his life now. I don't think she has the energy for the frying pan at the moment, but I think she'll be showing some of her old spunk pretty soon.

Haha, you have Silver Lady to thank for the supermarket scene. She mentioned that she was wondering about the others, what they did, and how they kept in supplies - the more mundane aspects of life aboard a space station, so I joked that I would send them to the grocery store, and then I got attached to the idea. I never realized that writing an ensemble fic was so hard though! I'm so used to pretty much straight B/V, I've never had to deal with the challenge of really including everybody.

As far as the gravity room goes, I figured that Bulma and her dad invented it in the regular timeline, why shouldn't they invent it in this A/U one? I've been trying to stay sort of true to canon and include things that happened in the show, simply in the context of this fic (ie. Bulma's big perm, the gravity room, some stuff that hasn't happened yet but is planned to )

And as always, Puar's predicament is relegated to comic relief. I'm thinking it will be resolved soon, but I haven't decided exactly where it's taking place. I'm thinking maybe a chapter or two from now.

I'll let slip that I decided to stay away from the biting/bonding thing (though I'm sure there will be a lot of other biting going on! ) but there will be a certain amount of animal attachment on the saiyans' parts that will be explained in that way. Certain animals do mate for life (Penguins are oddly romantic in this respect) so I figure Saiyans can too! I think I've written enough about the almost supernatural "bond" though, and I am a little tired of it. While it can be tremendously well done, it's also used too much as a way to rush the relationship along, which I admit to having done myself. This fic has been one big challenge for me and I'm hoping that I can get those two together and have them stay together without copping out. (For those who write/enjoy the bond, I'm not saying it's always a cop out; I just feel that if I used it in the context of Vengeance, it would be taking the easy road.)

Zarbon is one of those interesting characters that I wish Toriyama had spent more time developing. Initially I intended him to be the typical loyal henchman character, but then an idea for a scene (much later, near the end) with Nappa, of all people, popped into my head and this whole other storyline evolved from it. Unfortunately, this keeps happening and I fear that I'm never going to finish this story! It's going to be at least 20 chapters, for sure, likely more.
