Okay, so the afternoon had started out with a noble purpose. The original plan was to read a play. Romeo and Juliet to be exact. From what Jules understood, this is what they were talking about when it came to great love. He assumed that it was a great place to start research for his project. Plus, if he was really lucky he might see two young lovers sitting in the library, just waiting for an angel to nudge them together. It had been going well for a bit. Jules could be found hunched over a table, pouring over each line of the play. But then something blew in through the window. A purple wrapper hit the table. Jules's eyes flicked up, looking towards the lollipop wrapper. He really wished that he had been the one to eat that lollipop. But he forced his gaze back to the play. He read another line, however his eyes were back on the wrapper which was moving slightly across the table due to the breeze coming through the window. Jules pushed his eyes back to the play, this time he read another word. The wrapper was about to fall off the table.

A moment later Jules had closed the book and moved so that he was kneeling on the floor, his face was level with the table. As the wrapper got closer to his mouth he blew hard. The wrapper flew a couple inches, but then started back towards Jules's. "So you think you can beat me?" said Jules, quietly to the breezing coming in the window. He blew again, this time sending the wrapper back even further. But again it came back, and again Jules blew. The game continued again. Each time he blew he got it further. Jules decided that his goal was to get the wrapper back out the window, if his lungs would allow.

Jules didn't feel too bad about leaving his play. From what he had learned so far the best way to get two people to fall in love was to make their families hate them. Jules had no idea how he was going to do that so blowing this lovely little wrapper seemed like a much better idea. It was definitely a more enjoyable idea.

There was a spider in her room. I mean, she saw it. It was there. And it was a spider, and it was scary, and... she was scared. It was a SPIDER, did she mention that? But this seriously was not THAT bad. It was... smaller than that one from freshman year... That one was big! So, of course, she stayed in a friend's dorm for a week. Hell, it was a SPIDER. A huge spider! But, she figured that if she let the small spider currently residing her room alone for a few hours, she'd be in the clear to return. And if she saw it again, well... She would find somebody to kill it for her. But that was a last resort.

    She wasn't that desperate... yet.

But what does one do when wandering the school? Well, if you're Brie, you make a beeline towards the library. As always, she had a book handy in her purse (yes... she did carry books in her purse. What else are you supposed to put in it?) so she wouldn't have a lack of something to do. And she wouldn't have to wander around the library searching for a book. Because that would take her hours in itself. As luck would have it, the library actually had good books. Back when she was a friendless loser - a friendless perfectionist, actually - Brie had worked her way through the library and memorized where everything was.

And in her travels, she had found the table.

It was secluded enough to get away from the people who talked in the library, but not so far so she looked like a complete loner. It was next to a window, it had the comfortable chairs, and it was near the fiction section. What could be any better? Nothing, that's what. It was perfect - nothing less for Brie.

She smiled at the librarian as she entered, but walked briskly towards her table. She weaved in and out of the bookshelves, enjoying being back in here. Then, she reached the table and was about to slide into her favorite spot...

Why was somebody at her table? No wait - better question. Why was said person blowing a wrapper out the window?

Brie cleared her throat and readjusted her purse on her shoulder. "Um... anyone sitting here?" she asked, motioning to the chair she was standing behind. Her eyes caught the book that the boy had been reading... Or that she assumed he was reading. "Romeo and Juliet. Great story." She smiled at him.

He was so close. Jules could feel the wind bending to his will. He was going to get this wrapper out the window. It had become so important. The only thing he could focus on. That was until the girl had disrupted him. Jules looked up once at her, gave her a wink with his left eye, and gave one last blow, sending the wrapper out the window. Jules grinned ear to ear. "Yeah, I was sitting there." said Jules, standing. "Until, you know." he nodded his head towards the window. "That thing." He smiled again looking at his romance play. "I'm liking it so far. Apparently it's the greatest love story of all time." he said, scratching his head. "I don't know, but it seems a little negative." Jules was certain that the romance would become clear later. He had absolutely no idea that the tale was supposed to be a tragedy.

"I'm Jules Sinclair." he said, with a smile and his hand out in offering. Jules was actually somewhat clean today. He hadn't shaved recently so there was some scruff on his face, but his hair was washed and very golden in the light. Jules looked closely at the girl. She seemed nice enough. Nice enough to smile anyways. Smiling was Jules's favorite part about people. He loved how there faces looked when they smiled. He even liked how he looked when he smiled, how his nose got all scrunched and his eyes all bright. That was part of the reason that Jules smiled so much. It just felt good.

Brie raised her eyebrows at him. "Of course." Okay, not going to lie, she thought the kid was weird. Well... he had just blown a wrapper out the window. Who knows how long he had tried to get it in? She walked around the table and slid into the seat across from her usual seat. Ewwww... Change. She didn't like the new view but... she'd just wait until he left and she could claim her spot again. Because it was just that. Her spot. Her spot at her table in her section of the library. Well, it wasn't her section. But it most definitely was her table! Thank you!

She laughed a bit. "Well, yeah, it's negative. But when you really look at it, that's not the only thing that could really disqualify it from being the greatest love story of all time." Brie began digging around in her bag, looking for the book. "If you think about it, they know each other for a few hours at the most when Juliet wants to get married." She rolled her eyes, pulling the book out of her bag. "A lot of people just take Romeo and Juliet for what it's reputation is."

Brie mentally slapped herself. And there she went, nitpicking on Romeo and Juliet. In fact, she had an entire tirade of Romeo and Juliet, all it's faults. But, hell, she hadn't even introduced herself yet. "I'm Brie Taylor," she said politely. She studied the boy. She had definitely not seen him before. Maybe he was one of those transfer kids they were supposed to get this year. "Are you new this year?" she asked, bluntly. But the second she did, she prayed that he was and wouldn't take offense if he had been here for years and was in her class or something. That would be embarrassing.

Jules looked terrified. "Yes." he said quickly. "Why? Do I look new?" What he meant was 'Do I look suspicious, like a heavenly being?'. But then he gained his sanity back. Now he was just being paranoid. He looked like all the other students here. He knew that. Everyone morning he looked in the mirror to make sure he could still pass himself off for your average everyday teenager. Of course everyday he passed. "I'm sorry." he said, laughing a bit. "Of course I look new." Jules said, calming covering up for his slip. "I don't know what to do with myself. I have no friends and so I end up playing stupid games with wrappers." he said, looking down at his feet.

When she talked about Romeo and Juliet, Jules was almost ready to take notes. So she saw a problem with knowing each other for only a few hours. Gosh, how long did it take these people to fall in love? Would it take a full day? Jules remembered learning it took months, even years, but he didn't think that was quite realistic. How could any angel work to keep two people falling for each other for months? He could do a week, maybe two at the most. Whichever two people he picked, well that would have to be good enough for them.

But this girl didn't have very good things to say about love and Romeo and Juliet. Maybe Jules would have to check out another book. He might have to ask her which book she thought was great for a poor angel trying ot learn about love. If he had a good love book he could use that for the first bit of his paper. He could just talk about the book and love in the book and then relate it to his experience. That was an idea. Jules's only problem was that he hadn't actually seen any love walking around the school. He'd have to look closer. Maybe find out where all the couples were hiding. They had to be somewhere....

Brie tilted her head. Oh God, she scared a new kid. How much a bitch was she? "Oh, no I mean... You don't look new or anything, I just didn't think I had seen you around school before." And she made him feel bad. Wow. She was just a fabulously terrible person today, wasn't she? Now all she had to do was go make some freshman cry and her reign of terror would be complete. "Well I..." Smart, Brie, super smart. "I mean... like... Uh..." She scratched at the back of her neck. "I'll be your friend... I mean, I..." Her voice trailed off as her eyes focused on a book out of place on the bookshelf. No, she wouldn't go up and fix it. That'd be crazy... Heh.

Without explanation, she got up and pushed the book back in place. There, it was all good now. Nice and orderly and perfect and... Brie's eyes focused on the Romeo and Juliet book. It was put at an angle that just... well, it wasn't acceptable. She wondered why she didn't see it before. Casually, as she walked back to her chair, she pushed it so it would be straight. Smiling, she sat back down. "What was I talking about?" she asked.

Somehow, by will not of her own, Brie's mind drifted back to Romeo and Juliet. It wasn't like it was a bad story, it was great story. Well written, with many layers to it. Every time she read it she found something new about it. But... it just had some serious plot issues. If you keep track of how much time has passed, you'll find that it's only about three or four days in total. They meet, next day they marry and Romeo is banished, they have their wedding night and Romeo leaves the next morning, they spend a day away and Juliet "kills" herself, and then that night Romeo kills himself and Juliet really kills herself! That's no time at all!

She wasn't condemning love or anything... Personally, she thought that if they had lived, they would have been very happy together. But they didn't, and they wouldn't. Brie was generally a big fan of love. Her parents were an amazing example of love. They were in love at sixteen, and haven't changed their minds since. But... back to the book... maybe it would have just been better if they spent a month apart before Juliet went all suicidal. That would have patched up a few things.

Jules's mind on the other hand had completely left the topic off Romeo and Juliet. He was now watching closely as the girl straightened things. Suddenly it became clear to Jules. The poor girl didn't like mess. She wanted every perfect, everything in it's place. He frowned. "Well, I appreciate the offer of friendship." He ran his hand through his hair, displacing all the hairs once again. "But for your own good I might have to turn you down." Jules sighed, his face was truly sad now. He had thought for a brief moment that he had made a friend. "See, you won't like me very much." He shook his head. "In fact, I'm afraid you'll rather dislike me."

There was no joke in his tone. Jules was serious. "You're all neat and perfect." Yes, he had used the word perfect, and she was. He could see that now and didn't know why he hadn't spotted it early. Brie set up her world perfectly. It wasn't until she fixed the books that he could see how she made everything around her perfect. "And I'm a mess in every possible way." He started to stand up slowly. "I'd drive you nuts, you'd never be able to straighten me out and I would really hate to drive a pretty girl like you nuts."

Jules was about to leave when a gust of wind blew the purple wrapper back in. "You little jerk." He snarled at it. It didn't appear to Jules that he and this girl were actually very much alike. She just fixed books with her hands while Jules took care of meaningless wrappers, with, yes, his moth. Or rather, more correctly, his breath. Speaking of his breath, Jules was pretty sure that he was going to have considerably more lung capacity by the end of this. Especially with the rate of this wind. He was going to have to blow much harder this time to send the lollipop wrapper where it belonged. Out that window, and preferably in the trash can outside. But even with angel breath, Jules didn't think he'd be able to get that.

Okay, now the kid was sad... but about what? Did she do something? He wasn't really making sense to her. Why would she hate him? I mean, Brie just didn't hate people. Unless, of course, they pissed her off. But that was a completely different story, now wasn't it? Because if you pissed her off, there would be more coming your way than hate. Like gossip, swear words, and an all-out bitch fight. Brie didn't take things lightly.

Perfect? Please, she could find many more words - better words at that - than perfect. Because she was far from perfect. So far that she and perfect were no longer in the same spectrum. "I wouldn't say perfect," she retorted. "More like a crazy control freak, if you'd ask me."

He... he just called her pretty. Right? He did just call her pretty, right? Involuntarily, she blushed madly and looked down at her feet. Brie had thought he had already left, when she heard his voice again. Her head snapped up at the words. Was he calling her a jerk? What the hell? But then she noticed what he was staring at... the wrapper. Okay...

Ignoring him completely, she opened her book to the first page and held it up so it covered her face completely. They didn't need to be friends. They didn't need to talk. He just needed to leave her table. That was it.

It was sad. Jules had rather liked the girl. He really wanted to talk to her more about Romeo and Juliet. But the last thing he needed was someone fixing him, organizing everything. Oh, and his room, the thought of this poor girl in his room was terrible. She's probably spend the rest of her life trying to clean it up. Jules was kind. He couldn't dream of doing something like that. He had really planned on leaving. But that silly little paper came back and he'd have to get it out again.

Without wasting another moment Jules was back on his knees, sending a gust of wind from his lungs towards the paper. But now his enemy, the wind was stronger. It blew harder against him. He had no hope of getting the wrapper back out the window. At least not like this, not on his own. "Are you going to just sit there or are you going to give me a hand?" He looked up at her pleading, his sweetest blue eyes looking at her.

Brie looked at him from the top of her book. Oh my god. He was not giving her that whole puppy dog look, was he? Oh wow... yes he was. She blinked a few times before heavily sighing and putting the book on the table. Was she seriously going to help this kid - who, she had to admit, was absolutely, out of his mind CRAZY - blow a wrapper out the window?

And, in case you were wondering, the answer is yes, she was going to.

She rounded the table and knelt down next to him. "So, I just... blow at it?" she asked, unsure. It was all rather bizarre to her. But, then again, she guessed that her fixing books that were out of place seemed bizarre to him. So she went along with it. Tentatively, she blew on it a little, and was surprised that their combined efforts moved it a bit. Brie giggled and blew on it again, really starting to understand how he found fun in this. It was amusing, crazy, fun, and something that she never would have done before. She noticed that - just like she couldn't have books out of place - Jules couldn't not blow the wrapper out the window. Maybe they weren't so different as he apparently thought.

Jules wasn't sure that Brie would join him. He thought that she might decide that was below her, that her book was more important. But he was pleased when she did decide that blowing the wrapper with him was worth her time. Jules was happy for two reasons. First he was glad that he was still interacting with this girl. He may have been convinced she wouldn't like him, but he liked her. Brie fascinated Jules, or rather, what he had seen so far of her had interested him greatly. She in many ways was the opposite of him, neat while he was messy, focused while he was scattered brain. But she was smart. Jules could tell from what little she had said about Romeo and Juliet. Jules was quite sure she might have some more insights about love and people that could be very useful to him in writing that paper.

But on top of still being with Brie, the other bonus was that they were proving themselves a force to be reckoned with. That wrapper had no hope with their combined breath. Finally with one last huff it wet flying out the window. Jules's face light up with joy. "Score!" he said excitedly. "Give me a high five Miss Brie!" said Jules offering his hand to be slapped. "You must have a wonderful singing voice...." he said with a nod. "To be able to blow like that, it's rather impressive." He smiled at her.

Brie watched as the wrapper tumbled over the window and out of sight. She laughed heartily and gave Jules a tentative high-five. She had never really done much high-fiving... It was mostly ecstatic hugs and jumping up and down. However, as a person who spends her time in libraries, she knew that jumping up and down was NOT acceptable in a library. Although that would be hilarious, wouldn't it? But, then again, it would completely ruin the relationship she had built up with the librarian, get them kicked out, and there was that ever-present possibility of detention.

Yeah. Not happening. High-five was okay in her book!

She quirked an eyebrow at him. "Er... okay. I don't really sing much outside the shower..." she replied. Um... yeah. Did she mention that this kid - this Jules - was effing crazy? Yes, yes, this just further proved her point. But he was amusing, she had to say that. Fun to talk to and fun to be around. He was probably one of those people it was REALLY hard to be angry at. Brie rolled off her knees and sat down on the ground, leaning against the wall. "So is that what you do in your spare time?" she asked. "I must say, you should pick up a more... productive hobby that blowing trash out windows."

Jules felt like he won again when she a gave him the high five. Maybe he wouldn't drive her crazy. Maybe they could be great friends, even good for each other. He could help her learn to love books at every angle and she could maybe get him to clean his room once in awhile, and brush his hair. Hey, it could happen. But right now Jules was happy to have sent the wrapper out the window with her help. He wasn't sure what he would do if the wrapper came back, if it ever had the nerve to do such a thing. Jules hoped not. He could sent it out twice, but his lungs might protest if he tried a third time.

"You're right." said Jules in response to her comment about his hobby. He crossed his arms and looked at her intently. "Any suggestions?" There was not much that Jules wasn't willing to try at least once. He was living on earth for a second time. He was going to use this time efficiently. Doing all sorts of crazy things. Jules couldn't began to comprehend what heaven might be like. But he was willing to bet that you couldn't waste part of your afternoon blowing on a wrapper. No, there was some simple pleasures he was just going to enjoy as much as he could while he was here. He hoped that maybe he'd be able to complete his assignments while doing such activities.

She shrugged. "Reading's always good," Brie stated. "But then again, I'm biased there. You're talking to the girl who will only sit at her table in the library," she patted the leg of the table they were currently sitting by. She giggled and hid her blushing face in her hands. "I'm a freak, I know," she explained. She lifted up her face and smiled at Jules. Genuinely smiled. Oh, but he needed to fix his hair... Badly. She clenched her fists trying to hold down the urge to just reach out and fix it really quickly.

Fail. "I'm sorry, but it's just so messy," she explained as she reached out and attempted to comb his hair with her fingers. She pulled back, but attacked it again. "I think it's better," she said as she patted his hair down. She let her hands fall and smiled at him again. "Definitely an improvement." She hit her head against the wall. God, she WAS a freak, wasn't she? It was no wonder people avoided her like a leper when they found out about her "quirk".

"Anyway, we were talking about hobbies." Brie looked up at the ceiling. "Personally, I like to go for a run every once in a while." She turned her head towards his. "Do you like running - or sports, for that matter? I find running to be one of the most calming things ever." She smiled and returned her gaze to the ceiling.

Brie wasn't the only one blushing. When she reached over and fixed his hair, Jules could feel the red tingling slightly on his cheeks. It wasn't bad, only barely noticeable. But it was definitely there. Jules was probably one of the biggest blushers when it came to guys. He knew plenty of guys that never blushed. He wished he could count himself in that crowd. But he couldn't whenever he was nervous, he blushed. Whenever he was really happy, he blushed. It seemed like his emotions were just looking for a reason to blush. And a beautiful girl like this, touching his hair, well that was a reason enough for Jules to blush.

"I know." he said, as she fixed his hair. "No matter what I do it just goes crazy." he chuckled to himself. "I don't really do that much to be truthful." Jules just didn't see why he should spend a bunch of time on his hair. It did look better when he combed it regularly, but that was so much work. Whenever he went outside he'd have to comb it. Plus, he ran his hands through his hair enough that even if he did comb it, it would be a mess again. Jules was trying to do better with keeping his hair clean. He knew that when his hair was really dirty it grossed people out and that was the last thing that Jules wanted to do. He was far too social to do that.

"Oh I love running." said Jules with a sigh. "Especially when I'm running towards or away from something. I love recreational sports." He said 'recreational' sports because he meant sports for fun. He wasn't one to play sports for the school even those that he was very good at. He didn't want to get all competitive. He'd rather just play and have fun. "I think it's cause I'm squirmy. It's good for me to get my body working." he winked at her again. "You're really stunning, you know that?" Jules was stating a fact. He was a very forward person and wasn't always the best at staying quiet when he should have. No, if something was on Jules's mind he'd share it immediately with everyone around him. Or least he would whenever he could. When it was angel stuff he'd often have to keep it to himself. But something like this he felt comfortable saying. It was true, she was beautiful and the more time Jules spent with her the more he saw it.

I'm going to call the whole thing to a halt.
You don't feel you could love me.
But I feel you could.
